I found it amusing and ironic that Pat throw out that suggestion on the "misinformation" slot.

And the Grimes fella finished the slot with some saying that also suggested a conspiracy.

He just pointed out that there was zero evidence that the election was “stolen”, then said that no one said anything when Trump won all the swing states and how improbable that was.

Grimes said that the Democrats tend to respect the democratic process whereas Trump, and his ilk, just repeat lies over and over and it sticks.

Any mention of the Denis O'Brien story on Pat Kenny today?

My father used to say, if you try to do anything in Ireland a committee immediately forms to stop you.

Listening to this debate around weekend rostering is frankly hilarious.

One other thing that came up that irked me. There are people called phlebotomists (yes I had to google the spelling), whose job it is to draw blood, thats all they do. In hospital a couple of years ago, I had to find the hospital name on my phone and call reception and ask them to ask someone to bring a glass of water to me as I was on a trolley and had not seen a nurse in several hours and was frankly thirsty.

I wonder, have they hired specialty nurses of certain things and therefore they don't do actual nursing anymore?

Ive worked in teams where different people had different specialties but they all were capable of the basics. If there was a rostering error, and on a particular day you had 5 people all specialists in the one area, it was no biggy as they could all do the job. If you have a rostering error and 5 phlebotomists show up for work do they say "My job is to take blood, not my problem if other stuff is needed"?

The Monday specialist is a Cardiologist.

I am going to count how many times the phrase "You should talk to you GP" is used.

Edit: Maybe she was reading this thread. She didn't say "talk to your GP" once.

She did say "That should be tested" six times.

Presumably it needs to be tested by a consultant, so go to a GP and get a referral for a consultant in 6-12 months time.

Isn't there rules on medical advice being given out over the radio?

These slots are therefore pointless but 3 hours needs to be filled.

Pat pointing out that helen mcantee is fairly useless, in her past and current role

Oh….what was the topic? I’d agree with Pat on this, but critic of McEntee is usually met with cries of sexism and/or misogyny, or sometimes both.

You do need a referral from a GP, but you can be seen in 24 hours in at wait one private hospital if you’re willing to pay and/or have one of certain medical insurance plans.

it was something along the lines that she seems too interested in creating multi-denominational schools, rather than important things like recruitment of new teachers etc. He said she seemed to be going the same way as when minister for justice. More interested in silly 'fluff' shite, rather than real problems.

Hard to disagree with that synopsis.

Now does that criticism make Pat sexist, misogynist, or both?

Criticism can be valid without it coming from a place of sexism or misogyny.

Or do you think McEntee is above any criticism?

Kneecap's manager making a complete fool of himself on Newstalk.

Refusing to give the context of the band's statement. Just saying- "Look over there".

    Anton Savage tearing him apart.

    Ah it's a "performance" so? 🙄

Where does the "performance"/pisstaking ends and their deeply held convictions begin?

You have picked me up completely wrong.

I never mentioned sexism or misogyny. You did.

I meant it was an accurate assessment of her. Nothing to do with her gender.

In other news, Kneekaps manager about to get cut off if he is not careful.

Ok, apologies if I have, but you did reply with “or just accurate” to my post in which in the last sentence I asked does Pat’s criticism of her make him sexist or a misogynist, which was a follow up on my previous point that McEntee has previous form in declaring that criticism of her is rooted in sexism, misogyny, or both - so I hope you can see why I might have misinterpreted?

I think we’ve both misinterpreted the other’s intent tbh! No harm, no foul.

if kneecap were going to talk-the-talk , then they should have walked-the-walk. This desperate apology stuff won’t endear them to the Outraged Middle America, and makes them look like posers to their protester fan base , where authenticity is the main currency. This manager guy I keep hearing sounds like one of those politicians caught taking brown envelopes and trying to brazenly claim it’s not against the law if the envelopes aren’t actually sealed

To be charitable maybe he's doing his best but he's definitely not helping the situation.

I usually really enjoy the Paul Harrington music section but he wasn't able for this song, its one of my favourites and just felt you could feel the weakness in his voice

Did I hear that right?? If a bandage for example is used out of one of those first aid boxes on trains the whole kit is then replaced, and the old one instead of going into landfill is donated to a charity

That’s what they said. Enjoyed Pat getting a Trump dig in about the funding cut, he’ll take them from anywhere.
