I was thinking if Putin moved all AA to Moscow then that means rest of country is unprotected

Yeah they'd all be hammered on vodka. Or they wouldn't be able to fix their rickety transports to the front line (see above post)

Or maybe you're talking about a different AA altogether…

There's a simple response here: "As invaders, you can cease fire at any time you like and go home to Russia. Apart from that, we will defend ourselves as and when we see fit".

If they want to enjoy 3 days of celebrations, let them do so under fear in the same manner Ukrainians do every other day of the last 3 years.

I don't know anyone supporting Russia (maybe one in ultster/ not me) but I've definitely become more cynical since 2022. Patrick Lancaster told some horrific tales of Ukrainian brutality to Tucker Carlson recently including a naked woman with a bag over her head raped to death.

    https://open.spotify.com/episode/0lg8aO5h8YgE6MHS0ImeBF?si=vZYeynKcT0ek8jXooBizgg

He gives the story at 27 minutes.

There were similar atrocities committed by Ukraine during 2014 war. This is not to discount Russian atrocities but to acknowledge Russia and Ukraine are committing atrocities. One only has to look at Vietnam to see the horrors our ally USA inflicted on civilian population.

So the barbaric story such as you have posted while extremely distressing only really serve to show how disgusting war is and how a ceasefire and an end to this despicable war should be something we are all pushing for.

I think at the beginning of the war the Russians still viewed Ukrainian's as neighbors but the hate against them rather than against NATO seems to be increasing because similar to those who highlight the Russian atrocities it seems there are those in Russia highlighting Ukrainian atrocities.

So in summary, I think empathy is needed and cool heads to end the war. Nobody is suggesting arming Hamas but a huge faction are pressuring Israel and that despite the much higher rate of Israeli war crimes. Something similar might work with Russia/ Ukraine. I think at this stage, most people just want Ukraine and Russia to stop murdering each other.

Absolute both sides false equivalence which in act = discounting Russian atrocities.

A position which = a total moral cop out without making any reckoning of the scale.

You know, or you should know, that the scale and conduct of Russia actions and war crimes dwarfs anything from the Ukraine side. The entire war by Russia is an illegal war of aggression. You have posted on this thread and the war has been going on long enough feigned ignorance won't fool anyone.

If Russia doesn't want to be hated by those in Ukraine and elsewhere, don't launch an illegal war of aggression against a neighbour, conduct it with war crimes, and engage in depraved atrocities like Bucha.
So spare us any drivel about empathy. They don't want your empathy when it treats Russian rapists and Ukrainian victims the same. They will rightly see you as a vatnik for Russia.

Nope, "most people" don't just want "Ukraine and Russia" to stop murdering each other.

"Most people" who haven't fallen hook line and sinker for vatnik propaganda know that Ukraine are defending themselves against murderous, raping Russian invaders. They remember Bucha. They remember Russian threats to the rest of Europe. They want a real peace, not a mere truce that leaves Ukraine defenceless and allows Russia to overrun the entire country in a few years and inflict more Buchas.

all it would take for this war to stop is for russia to feck off back home….

anyway i was under the impression donnie vonshitzinpants was going to end this the first day he was back….?

"They gave me an impossible task, one which they said I wouldnt return from...."

"You are him…the one they call the "Baba Yaga"…

yo! donnie vonshitzinpants..you sir are the skidmark on the jocks of humanity!!!

of course but they’re not going to do that if their own volition so another way will have to be found…

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 842 ✭✭✭Baba Yaga

was just thinking funnily enough…how about if all Europe from Finland all the way to Romania, all the countries with borders close to russia decide to have army training all along the border to coincide with putins mayday….like when putin had his army doing manuveres on Ukraines border before he started his "3 day special military operation" ?

Once you got to Tucker Carlson, everyone on the thread went … oh FFS, and stopped reading

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,525 ✭✭✭Virgil°

There isn't even a need to make that much effort. Once you see the username and the little green checkmark you know well in advance it's just going to be verified Vatnik garbage.

The actual interesting thing about the post is not the content, if you could charitably call it that, but the timing and the chosen subject. He felt riled up enough about the reports of Russia removing organs from the reporter they tortured and then murdered that he had to jump in and try to both sides, shoo away the disgustingness of it all.

If he's doing that you know its bad. As opposed to all the other semi ignorable(bombing playgrounds and hospitals) warcrimes that Russia regularly commits.

no nato country is going to get involved in a shooting war with Russia unless they start it and Putin knows this so I’m afraid that kind of shape-throwing isn’t going to force him out of Ukraine either…

The use of incendiary charges could mitigate that risk. The diplomats will be sitting out on their Red Square. It'd be a perfect time to set the Kremlin ablaze

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,333 ✭✭✭Field east

Ukr should avoid bombing the Red Sq in case the Chinese boss gets injured Much more effective concentrating on militar airfields/hardware, bomb/missile stocks , oil refineries , moving trains, convoys going to the front, that Kersch bridge and suchlike

Instead of cooling the war with empathy, maybe the invading force could un-invade.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,774 ✭✭✭threeball

It'd be an excuse for Diaper man to throw his weight behind Putin. They should bomb targets around Moscow so everyone gets the fireworks display but as you say take out strategic targets elsewhere on the day.

The time is running out for Trump's "peace" efforts. Trump is not providing any new weapons and blocks even purchases of Patriot missiles. When the funds provided by the Biden administration run out later this year, Trump will have only the intelligence sharing withdrawal as a threat for Ukraine. If Trump wants to stay in the game, he will soon have to start giving Ukraine something worthwhile, or start applying real pressure on his buddy Vlad.

The best way for Ukraine to deal with the parade would be to fly a few unarmed drones near the parade, and watch a chaos break out. An embarassment for Putin and no shots fired.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,554 ✭✭✭silliussoddius

It should never have come to this, European countries should have had a contingency plan for this outcome.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,813 ✭✭✭✭Mr. CooL ICE

Flying drones without explosives of any kind reminds me of something from over a year ago. UAF flew a massive Ukrainian flag over russian positions. Russians fired the flag out of the sky, giving up their location and ended up targeted by Ukrainian artillery

Won't Russia have to move a lot of resources to Moscow from other places that could be left exposed?

🇺🇸🇺🇦 Ukraine is set to sign a natural resources deal with the U.S. within hours, aiming to deepen economic ties and secure future military aid through a joint investment fund. Ukraine will reimburse the U.S. under the natural resources deal only for future military aid.

    https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2025-04-30/ukraine-ready-to-sign-us-resources-deal-as-early-as-wednesday

Sounds like a good deal to me. Russia is in trouble if American arms keep flowing.

Hit the Kerch Bridge during the victory parade at Red Square.

Grinding to a halt. Russia is losing the will to continue as before as willing conscripts dry up, money runs out and oil revenues are drastically cut. How long now?

If it wasn't for China, Iran and North Korea this would all be over by now

All eyes on Kursk. Slava Ukraini.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,317 ✭✭✭RoyalCelt

If it wasn't for Europes weak defence strategy post WW2 this would be over by now.

The allies are only delighted to see Iran and NK deplete their stocks in Ukraine.

Anyway were about to hit May and Povtrosk still holds. Hopefully it can survive the inevitable summer assaults. Putin Will want to attack in the dry season so he's not going to give Ukraine a 30 day ceasefire. He'll probably attack all year then offer a 30 day Christmas ceasefire in the midst of the **** weather.

It does bode well the amount of civilian vehicles Russia now uses. They are running seriously low.

What nonsense. For a start the words ''Tucker Carlson'' are a red flag that tells you that probably everything you are going to read or hear is a lie.

Secondly, this is a pathetic attempt at faux-evenhandedness, using Vietnam, of all places. This is not a war where ''both sides'' are commiting atrocities. The fact is the lions' share of the atrocities are being committed by the Ruzzians and any investigations-which I doubt you'll be bothering to consult-by Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, other NGO's and the UN have confirmed this. Of course Ukrainians have engaged in inhumane acts; if they didn't they'd be angels not men. In the most noble and justified of wars, the side of the righteous have committed crimes: In the Second World War French troops raped German women and Canadian soldiers, after having witnessed German crimes, often killed SS troops out of hand. In the Pacific theatre Japanese soldiers often received no mercy from Americans who would then take their heads home as trophies…and all that is even before we mention the Soviets. That still didn't alter the fact that this was a war where one side was in the right and the other was overwhelmingly in the wrong and any attempt to make comparisons can be dismissed as false equivalence and as attempts to muddy the waters…as we are seeing here. The two sides are not ''murdering each other'' . Most of the murder, whether shooting down people riding their bikes, raping and killing women, killing prosoners or firing missiles into hospitals and apartments has been perpetrated by one party.

Rare earth mineral deal signed. Big boost for Ukraine as US weapons should continue and will be paid for by this deal. They won't have to repay what Biden provided.
