Ok looking at option of selling a Seat ATECA S TDI ECOMOTIVE 1.6 17-2 suv Dieel

Less the 200k on the clock. Not giving us any issue and now be getting the NCT done more frequently. Get it serviced every year and only issues where damage to body work due to crashes that fixed

Looking at the resale value and seems good to sell .Have no outstanding loans on it and no major issues in it only recently AC not working so need to get that fixed

So looking at either selling it or just run it to the ground as would need to get a loan to get new say 2023/4 car so would be a trade in rather than private sell.

So what do people consider before selling

Just remember that if you sell it then you will have to spend alot of money on something to replace it. Prices of new cars have shot up in the last few years which has had a knock on effect on used car values but reality is that any cost to change up figures will still be fairly hefty. So if your main motivation to sell it is because it's current value is good then take that into consideration.

As you know the car and it's history consider keeping it for at least another 5 years. It would be beyond madness to borrow money for a newer shinier one. Put a few hundred euros into what you have when it's required and you'll save thousands in the process….but slick car sales folk in their expensive glass offices/show rooms will not tell you that - no commission in that !

Good advice. I drive a nine year old car now (2016) but is is a good quality make and always well serviced. Will keep it for another year or two I think. Changing cars for a new one every few years is very expensive.
