Evening all, just sharing a new nationwide panel Revenue opened for Tax/Audit/Compliance - https://www.revenue.ie/en/corporate/information-about-revenue/careers/career-opportunities.aspx

Any advice/tips for anyone applying, new to Revenue and doing further study in tax? It sounds like the roles could be a mix of some on-site/client facing so I'm curious how many new starters would actually avail of Revenue's hybrid 4-day WFH post-training. I'd be looking at Dublin so any thoughts on locations too would be appreciated. Many thanks.

I'd imagine its 3/4 days at home once the training is done.

Dublin city centre offices are likely to be O'Connell Street, Bishops Square or Georges Street. Outside of that it could be Tallaght or Ashtown Gate.

Does anyone know if a level 7 in HR Management qualify as a legal discipline for the eligibility requirements please?

Yes very vague…. I emailed the email address provided for “queries” and got a reply to say that “ Unfortunately the administration team of the Recruitment Unit would not be in a position to advise each and every potential candidate of their eligibility, or otherwise, for these posts, as all applications would need to be examined on their own merit by individuals authorised to do so, in line with competition guidelines” so unfortunately I’m none the wiser

Fire in your application and let them come back to you. Sounds like they will rule people out depending on the standard of applications more so than a person having a specific qualification.

I'd assume legal discipline could include anything along the lines of law, civil/political, immigration, etc. If your degree makes any references to managing budgets or the finance side of things I'd give it a go and try applying as it could still qualify under finance.

I recommended the competition to a few friends, several of whom don't qualify as they don't have a level 8 or the finance/law bit of a level 6. 8 is a big grade to be demanding (I've met so few EOs with full degrees) but I suppose the tax training and compliance side of things complicates it. Best of luck if you go ahead with it.

Thanks a million, I’m in 2 minds whether to go for it or wait on the next open or interdepartmental EO competition where the eligibility criteria are less and I’d know I definitely meet them

Regarding the application form for EO, TAC, is anyone able to insert a photo into it? I was trying to do that and realised that area has restricted editing. I emailed them, just wondering if anyone else faced the same issue.

yes I did too but if you click your mouse between the yellow bracket and the I (in insert) it will paste in there

If you applied for Dublin and was lucky enough to get it, Roughly how long would it take to transfer back to Sligo? I know you'd have one year of probation to serve first?

Edit: Just seen that it's a min of two years.

'If you applied for Dublin and was lucky enough to get it, Roughly how long would it take to transfer back to Sligo? I know you'd have one year of probation to serve first?'

You have to be in your organisation, role and location for 2 years before you're eligible for mobility. That said you can put your name on the mobility list at any time and move up the list, you just won't get an offer until you're eligible, and then it's down to how many are in front of you and if vacancies come up.

If I have done that already in the irish prison service, must I serve the 2 years again in a different organbisation and location though? Or do you only have to serve those two years once?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 43 Kellyf17

You have to be 2 years in your current role as far as I’m aware

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 101 ✭✭koifish

There's a mobility 'eligibility' page on your HR NSSO login I think. Until all options on it say yes (2 years in your grade, location & department which reset each move) you won't receive any offers. Honestly it seems faster to just keep your eye out for open panels.

The yellow bracket didn't come for me and they replied I just need to mail the photo.

Does anyone know if there will be online assessments for this competition?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 68 ✭✭mopsy06

The booklet says there may be online assessments

    7.1 Potential Selection Methods

These may include some or all of the following:

    • An Eligibility Sift.

    • Shortlisting of candidates based on the information contained in their application form.

    • Online assessment tests.

    • A competitive interview (final stage) via MS Teams based on the essential competencies required for the post and the information contained in the applicant’s application form. This may include a presentation relevant to the role (topic will be identified when candidates are scheduled for interview).

It will depend on volume of applications in 2023 it went straight to interview. People were panelled within 8 weeks

The 4 day remote isn't a blanket rule. I have family in revenue, three different divisions, 3 different blended arrangements as per needs of the org. One is 2 days from home, another 3 and another 4

All were on a blended arrangement within the first 6 weeks though so no one is being made wait compared to other departments

Hi, does anyone know when they will call interviews?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 101 ✭✭koifish

Thanks Sparkles, all good to know & that past panels moved fast. I'm hoping it'll be the same case here (and if Revenue are proactive with the recent chaos over tariffs, recruiting to prep early 🤔)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,130 ✭✭✭job seeker

Depends on the amount of applications as sparkles has said above! :)

Anyone know when they will start getting in contact re this panel?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 34 Scaredyteeth

It would be great to know a general timeline. Ive heard nothing yet anyway.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 82 ✭✭Justasking1979

I've heard nothing either. Between this competition and the 2024 one…

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,130 ✭✭✭job seeker

I wouldn't expect to hear anything until the 22nd of May atleast.. I'd be very surprised if we got work before then..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3 HoneyBeeRambles

Finger crossed for everyone! Hopefully we hear before too long.

Anyone have any idea of volume of people they'll be taking on?

Apparently people have been called to interview already. In another thread on the 2024 EO competition someone mentioned they applied on the 2nd of May for the TAC 2025 competition and were called to interview for it on 12th.
