    Hi all,

I know there is already a seperate engine revving thread but this is slightly different consequence. I have an audi A7 automatic, notice that the engine slowly revs up when coaxing downhill, it could go up to 2.5 or 3k revs if i let it which isnt massive in the grand scheme of things but just wondered is it because its an automatic this is just going through a lighter gear or something?

    Thanks for the help

Yes. It's using the transmission and engine to help slow the car.

If you were in a manual car you would change down.
