On the Amorique booking system won't let 2 adults 3 kids in a 4 berth.. Pay the €17 for a seat and it enables the booking to proceed.. Pretty sure they won't be knocking on cabin doors to count the occupancy

Is the Brittany Cotentin very bad? Doesn't look like there's much to do on board for 3 kids

We got this ferry home last year and there was nothing to do on it. A couple of TVs, a seating area and a restaurant. The shop is just a couple of things behind the reception desk. I'd suggest bringing some games/colouring/etc to entertain the kids.

Also a heads up that if you booked a 4-berth cabin it's actually 2x 2-berth cabins that are linked by the bathroom. This was a problem for me as I was the only adult in the 4-berth with 3 kids so didn't want to leave 2 of them alone overnight. I ended up having to try to wedge the (very heavy) bathroom doors open so that I could hear the other kids. Not ideal.

Thanks for the response, we were on Pont Aven last year and was very good. I was shocked at the state of the Cotentin, anyway not much we can do now! It's a cattle ship dressed up as a ferry!
