The hot tap in the main bathroom is constantly getting airlocked and not in an easy way you can DIY free it, its a job for a plumber opening the pipes up etc. After its freed it will be locked up again in a month or less.

Its a gas boiler system (not a combi) with the hot water cylinder in a hotpress in a bedroom on the same floor as the bathroom, typical 3 bed semi with a converted attic.

My plumber is coming back to me with a quote for installing a pump in the attic that he says will sort it but Im worried this will be loud/annoying, there are 3 tenants in the house with me so if its very loud it could get annoying, if its just audible in the converted attic that wouldn't be too bad.

Does anyone know if these pumps are very loud? Do they work to give good hot water pressure throughout the house? Most importantly will they cure my airlocking issue once and for all?

Oh yeah and I forgot my most important question… Is there anything else I could tell him to try before we take this drastic action? This must be the typical hot water setup for a big chunk of the houses in the country, is there no other way to sort it?
