+ Garnacho, he's surely our most valuable asset and the club seems willing to sell.

If we sell Garnacho, then I hope we get a CF, GK, Cunha, CM and some cheap options for CM, Wing, RB/LB

I'd keep Zirkzee and let Hojlund go....give Odi a chance here and there. Any offers of 30 /40 mill for Hojlund they should be snapping the hand off.....and same for Antony.

Those 4 incoming players would transform the team / squad ten fold

We're never getting £30m for Hojlund though. That's closer to what he should have cost us. Antony maybe, since he's kicking ass in Spain.

Maybe..maybe not…but the overall outgoings should help a lot with incomings

It would be interesting to hear from Antony as to the reason for his much improved output. Is it the quality of the league, issues within Old Trafford, better coaching..

Different systems and standards in Spain. Also less pressure.

I think to get 30+ for Hojlund it would need to be a load with a performance based option/obligation. I don't think we'll get much interest in outright buying him this summer tbh. I do think there will be clubs that still rate him based on that he was before we signed him and apportion a lot of his issues to disfunction at United - but at the same time I think they would view it as a gamble and not one they want to commit to this summer.

I do think we are going to sell Garnacho this summer.

Cunha looks like a very solid target, and he plays the position Garnacho would want in our side. So that is one reason Garnacho might look to leave if we sign him. the L10 position (or R10) also doesn't really suit how Garnacho plays, so i think that is a second reason he might look to leave - go somewhere he plays a more conventional winger role?

And the reality is Garnacho is one of three players we could possibly sell to generate signifcant incoming - along with Rashford and Mainoo. and i STRONGLY do not want us to sell Mainoo. If we got 40/45 for Garnacho that would be huge in terms of a PSR boost that allows us to sign a number of players.

Heaton, Bayindir, Lindelof, Evans, Eriksen, Sancho, Rashford, Garnacho are all players I think will leave in the summer, some certain as their contracts are up. I think that only gets about 100m or so in income (and sancho won't be 'profit'), but the wages are significant.

Go back to Napoli, ask for Osimhen and offer Hojlund plus cash

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,156 ✭✭✭jayo44

Rasmus won't be sold this summer I reckon a loan option with a small fee and hope he does what Antony is doing. If we sell him this year it would have to be for over the 40m mark to balance psr. If we keep him and he has a good loan spell somewhere then chances are we can easily balance his sale on psr next summer.

My summer business would be cunha, swap Rashford for Watkin I think that one makes sense, delap, midfielder to replace Cas and that can play beside ugarte or Bruno depending on specific game and a RWB.

We could do with other postions obviously but we not going to do them all in one summer.

They want Garnacho still, apparently. They have Lukaku up top so I doubt they'd be looking for another striker tbh, not one at Hojlund's price.

I saw a headline that a number of Italian clubs are interested in Hojlund but you'd have to ask, why?

I think Hojlund will be given a year as backup next year, and that's the most sensible thing imo. As I can't see any club paying 30m+ for him and I don't see the point in a loan (when we already need backup in that position).

I would like to see how he gets on as backup in a team than can create / score more than relegation fodder.

Garnacho to Napoli and Osimhen going the other direction probably makes good sense, but with added $$ to United as part of such a deal.

I don't see Garnacho being part of Amorim's long term plans. The off-the-cuff, more chaotic approach under ETH suited him far better. He's been quite ineffective in Amorim's system and some of his decision making is so poor.

With United desperately needing to sell in order to buy, he's likely to be earmarked as one who can raise revenue and help us get a much needed quality striker into our squad.

If we do get Cunha then some kind of swap deal for Osimhen with Garnacho would be perfect, but then that would leave an issue with delap being high on the list (according to reports) and if Hojlund maybe kept as an impact player. 3 strikers who will all want to be number 1

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 49,304 ✭✭✭✭Mitch Connor

IMO If we got Osimhen we don't go for Delap. Its one or other for me.

IMO Delap is the 'practical' number one choice due to the likelihood we are not in the CL next season. Osimhen is the number 1 choice if we are in the CL.

Maybe we try swing Osimhen regardless, but I reckon it is CL dependent.

Would much prefer Oshimen over Watkins at this stage…. can see Watkins going to Arsenal

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,558 ✭✭✭✭billyhead

I've a feeling that irrespective of whether we qualify for the CL or not by winning the Europa, it will be Delap and Cunha we will buy with Garnacho and Rasmus staying.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,079 ✭✭✭Robson99

I think it will be Oshimen OR Delap, not both. We also need to give Obi Martin a chance to see what he is made of. I think Cherki is a no brainer for € 20 / 25mill. That would leave us well stacked in the 9 / 10s role (Oshimen, Obi Martin, Zirkzee, Cunha, Cherki, Mount, Bruno, Amad, Mainoo, Garnacho). If not selling Hojlund then loan him out. If it meant selling Garnacho to fund a middle of the park player or GK or RWB then so be it

You're spot on, Ornstein confirmed it this morning about Cunha and Delap being transfers the club wants in early and not dependant on sales.

I definitely think getting Oshimen in using either Garnacho or hojlund as leverage to a deal makes sense and reduces a fee. Neither have a long term future IMO. Garnacho doesn't suit the formation as we need lads out wide that are disciplined in both defence and attack

I can't see delap coming in as backup but recent years have shown the benefits of bigger squads and excessive fixtures. For any young Striker coming in to play off potentially Cunha or learn from someone like Oshimen has to appeal. If not I'd be looking at someone like Schtick who wouldn't break the bank and wouldn't demand game time every week

After watching Cherkhi last week I'd love to see us bring him in behind the ST, him and Cunha would be incredible up top and his price is very much appealing.

Other than the front 3 I think a CDM is vital , again ederson isn't going to be cheap but hojlund could me used as part of that deal potentially

Goalkeeper has to be brought in either way with bayinder likely to go. Costa is out of our budget, I'd hope this is somewhere where scouting dept can identify a viable candidate

RWB again is vital as dalot is not the guy...I like the look roger Fernandez but wouldn't be el against Kyle walker pieters on the cheap either as a short term solution. I do feel if we were pushing for Semenyo thats where he'd end up. Whoever it is please be able to cross a ball

Any loose change I feel will go towards squad players like the young Argentinian CB gimenez or the likes of Hackney/Chris rigg

i think jonathan david on a free should be our 1st signing. he might not be too keen after we sign (say) cunha and osimen as may not be #1 choice.

he can play in both positions as well. wages are crazily cheap at €37.5k per week.

There has to be something wrong with David.

    There just has to be.

His record is good, wages low, on a free in the summer… and yet there seems to be no interest, from anywhere. And he's not been the target of moves previous summers?

There HAS to be something about his game that clubs just don't like.

I can see Antony being bought by someone before Rashford. Now I think both will likely go out on loan again next season but Betis could qualify for CL and Atletico are supposedly interested. If Betis really want him they could offer to buy him this season but think he could go on a loan with an obligation to buy this summer.

I just can't see Villa making the Rashford deal permanent. I don't think they're gonna get top five and their turnover spent on wages is extremely high. They'll need to cut some costs if they don't end up top five. Rashford's wages I think will see him go out on loan again likely with another option to buy rather than obligation. If an obligation is included it's gonna have some high targets to reach.

I'd throw Dalot in too as an option to sell. Amad, Dorgu, and Maz should be enough to cover the RWB position. I wouldn't be keeping Dalot around just cause he's a handy backup given if he can be sold it's pure profit. No need to keep back up players around if their sale can strengthen the starting XI and/or squad.

not sure about people writing off garnacho at 20 years of age. That end product will come eventually.

Oshiman, Cunha, Ederson would be a fairly good summer. Bit of a backbone to the team.

I'd be calling up Alex Meret too to see if he's actually signed anything yet with Napoli. Supposedly only on £3.1M which is £700K more than Heaton if sites are correct. If Meret actually had interest he's someone who could easily be first choice.

Think he could be that experienced keeper who could hold down the fort for a few years until a long term number one can be found.

Looking at other positions on transfermarkt I see Tah has officially said he's leaving on a free and surprised there's been no paper talk about Tyrick Mitchell. Haven't we been linked to him by the papers before?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,673 ✭✭✭✭johnnyryan89

I'd say it's more the fact that Garnacho moving on could allow you strengthen a couple of starting XI spaces. Plus if Cunha comes in he's gonna take Garnacho's place in the starting XI. He'd be a fantastic squad player to have but he might well want to be a starter rather than someone rotated in and out.

Let's just say Cunha is signed that's Bruno, Cunha, Amad, Mainoo, Zirkzee, and Mount as options for the 10s. Garnacho's sale could allow you bring in a decent CM and upgrade from Delap to an Osimhen.
