Spur or Junction box for extra socket

    I'm looking to add an extra socket on a Radial Circuit, 20amps. 3 double sockets currently on it. Can I spur from middle socket, having 3 cables fit in the back box or would a junction box be preferable?

    Ideally you’d come from the end of line socket, or re-route/re-wire the link between two sockets. Not always an option, In this case I’d try and avoid a junction box as usually they end up in places hard to get at, and are adding another possible point of Failure/fault.


    If you can connect the 3 without any major issues I’d go for it.

    As Tuco88 said, you want to avoid using junction boxes at all costs. it may involve a bit of extra work ,but best its done correcyly.
