Is it ok for woodfiller to be used to fill gaps on new front door. Wood expanded, couldnt open door, company sent out fitter to shave door but shaved too much off causing big draughts. Solution was moving door stop closer and filling gaps with wood filler. My searches say this will not last , any advice on whether I should go back to them

Sounds like a botch job, two pack wood filler is ok for outdoor use similar to car body filler, I wouldn't accept it though on a new job , can you post a picture as a new poster

not sure their proposed fix last long term, even from the movement and banging from opening and closing the door etc. can you post a picture of the door or how they shaved it? I wouldn’t accept it if it’s not right, it’s a new door.

Go back to them now with your concerns, make sure you have it documented because if in the future it does fail you have proof you were concerned about the "fix". Personally I would want a replacement if it's a new door, but can you rely on them to do it right the next time is the question.
