No, the county imports electricity from other counties, as it has insufficient generation capacity for its own needs. Most of the "import" counties only have wind, solar and small-scale generation.

Technically it’s just another shade of brown, so it’s likely pop up in other locations.

New England in Crimea. After the Battle of Hastings many Anglo-Saxon noblemen fled to Constantinople, later they settled in Crimea. I think Niwe Eoforwic is basically New York.

The use of local time masks the effects of latitude somewhat. Paris is pretty much the same time as Dublin, but our day length on that day is nearly an hour longer.

Connected Solar Farms (Q4 2024) & safeguarding zones

Interestingly, the Solar Safeguarding Zones are defined by law (here) and their function is to regulate rooftop solar developments to protect aircraft from glint or glare.

Don't think I posted this previously - map of Ireland from Baptista Boazio and Renold Elstrack in 1599

    image.png

Apparently, this map was produced in 1599 to satisfy public interest during the Tudor conquest. In fact, it was so big when published that there weren’t enough known place names to fill it, so the mapmaker Battista Boazio created some, including ‘Elstrack’s Isle’ (after the engraver Renold Elstrack) and Baptiste’s Rock (after himself).

    Zoomable Map

I googled two of those supposed laws. The first (Estonian) one appears to be an urban myth, and the second (Milanese one) seems to date to the fourteenth century and hasn't had any legal standing in centuries.

In that it looks more like a teddy bear playing a fiddle than the better known teddy bear driving a car. I guess the teddy didn't have a car to drive back in them there days.
