Parked campervan in public road at estate

Hi, at one of estates I pass by there seems to be a permanently parked campervan on the road where lot of cars come in and out throughout day/night, it's parked on road just before there's a turn so obviously if you are not familiar in the area and if you drive fast as I have seen annoyingly speeding drivers or just at speed limit, even that seems dangerous. Because the campervan blocks the view of cars coming onto from that turn especially. Is there a way to talk to this neighbour who has this Infront of their house? I'm assuming it's legal or is it? Seems nobody complains about it and it's parked almost over 2 year now I've only maybe seen it gone twice in those years and I think it's their entitlement to do so,and how would you approach about this? I never feel relaxed when I see it, and it's such an obstruction. By the way I am a learner driver so I don't drive that often but I am wondering aren't there any rules/regulations around this?

    it's not your concern.

If it is taxed, insured and NCT'd, then no issue on public road unless it is too close to the junction.

How far is it from the junction?

I presume there are no road markings

There's lots of rules and regulations when it comes to parking but you can't do anything about legally parked vehicles that make you unrelaxed.

In the two years it's been parked there has anyone crashed in to it?

If it's dangerously parked you can report it.

No junction,it's just parked on the road ifnront of the house, and road goes straight ending at cul de sac and a turn emerges and splits into another street at cul de sac. It's a housing estate. Lot of turns to get into the estate but it's not main road. But a lot of cars are parked on the street, it's just having this huge campervan that blocks the view for people coming in and out of the streets in that estate.

Thanks, well maybe I am nervous as a learner driver about it. Is it really a regular thing to be parking massive vehicles infront of housing? I understand if there are delivery vans etc but this just feels like a mini house parked Infront of a house that blocks the view

You can report it if it's dangerously or illegally parked near a junction, bend. So many people have no regard for where they park.

So is it just because you're a learner driver you have problems with where it's parked? I mean you take an extra bit of caution in the area and you'll be fine.

In terms of people who aren't from the area… they won't be just pulling around corners with no regard for their surroundings.

Is it "just before a turn" or simply on a straight road? If its parked opposite a white line it's not parked legally. Camper vans aren't usually massive, they're smaller than buses. What view is it blocking? And you never answered my question… In the two years it's been parked there has anyone crashed in to it?

You can't control anyone else's driving. You mention others speeding into the road. They will speed whether or not the campervan is parked there. All you can do, as a learner and in your future driving, is exercise as much caution as you need. When we are driving sometimes we have to avoid other people's accidents.

You know the estate you're driving in. You know the campervan is parked on the road. Take it easy when approaching. If someone else is speeding you will have the reaction time to avoid them. You will meet a lot worse on the roads than a campervan parked in a Cul-de-sac.

About your question, I don't know didn't heard of it and not sure if it's relevant

You haven't answered the question about how far it is from a junction, but here's a handy summary of parking rules.

Your objection to its height doesn't seem to be covered by any rules. I'd be surprised if it's taller than a van; high roof vans are almost 3m tall. I can't see how the height is particularly relevant to safety, even a tall car or normal van is impossible to see over.

It's Infront of a corner house at residential area and not too far from the turn ( about few meters I say. And thanks for the link, that is useful information

Often there's an unbroken white line in the middle of the road on the approach to a corner. You're not allowed park opposite an unbroken white line.

The person in the campervan is obviously stealing accomodation by parking in that area and not saddling himself with a 500k mortgage like a good citizen
