Euro7 diesels on the way

It's getting to the stage where you cannot repair anything yourself. The amount of electronic sensors is bad enough but now manufacturers have the sneaky act of marrying parts to the vehicle so you can no longer swap out parts from another vehicle.

Modern tractors are the same, with some minor issue now causing the tractors to shut down/ go into limp mode etc and cannot be resolved without hooking up to a computer.

The only thing I can think of that might make it relative would be the tyre wear. Some EV's are going through tyres faster than comparable models, there maybe increased brake usage due to the nature of them being heavier.

You would need to go back about another decade to avoid most of it
