Pergola query

Evening,

Recently had a Lean-to Pergola professionally fitted, they seemed very legit, great reviews etc. Workmanship looks great.

However I've a question on one part, the ledgerboard against the house. My house is Pebbledashed and they didn't remove it, instead just bolted the ledgerboard against the pebbledash (bolts into the brick behind).

Is that structurally okay?

Edit: Appreciate it's not DIY but unsure where else to go and love reading here so...

Structurally, yes as it's bolted, but the important thing is how the flashed it so that the rain is kept out, how did they do that?

pergola should be open to the rain, if it has a roof its not a pergola surely

The last thing I'd want from a pergola is a gap between its roof and the wall letting rain off the fall on me while I passed under the gap. I'd consider that a fail.

A pergola with a roof is a gazebo.

A lean-to gazebo is a porch or verandah.

Yes if it has a roof it's not a pergola, pergolas are open.

that name has crept it we know what the OP is talking about, its a lean-to, no doubt its one of those eyesores with the perspex roof, your advice is spot on i was just being pedantic for the laugh.
