So we are downgrading hate to commentary on his coaching record? Please point to "gotten above his station" posts. There are Lads on here making Munster fans look like paranoid snowflakes.

MOD: This is borderline trolling. non-Munster fans can post here, but the quality and style of their posting needs to be a lot better than this.
There won't be any more warnings on this.

I didn't see the game. Was out after the Leinster game and that was in a whatsapp group when I woke up this morning to watch the F1.

So personal slight is a mature response? I'm not looking for post to defend a fairly level headed post - I directed you to it....it just required a little scrolling.

This is sad. There are a small number of posts pointing out that ROG's season has gone to the dogs with a string of terrible results. He's under pressure now which is how it goes as a coach, maybe he stayed too long or has lost the dressing room, who knows. There is literally nothing in any of these posts that suggests there's some kind of vendetta and the knives are out, or anything indicating that anyone hates ROG. You are being paranoid, that is not a personal slight, its just a conclusion from reading what you wrote and finding zero evidence to support it.

Funny that the "above his station" post came from an explicit Munster fan on here.

    Some people see bogeymen everywhere.

Not only do we face the of blinding pace of South African back three players in the URC but we have it on an Irish team. It’s great preparation for club and country.

That was the best game of rugby i have seen in years. I'm still absolutely buzzing after it

"Has there ever been an organisation in human history that is dedicated, with such commitment, to the destruction of organised human life on Earth?"

In the end of the day the following are the facts:

Very few outside of Munster saw Crowleys potential. Those who argued his case over the last 6 months have been proven correct! His worth to Munster is immense and that needs to be seen by Ireland aswell. Ronan has been vocal in talking up Prendergast on more than one occasion. Equally saying zilch to support Crowley until last night. So it's not anti Rog to point this out rather stating a fact.

Second point, nobody wanted the Munster coach outside of Prendegast. Rog was vocal here aswell in stating he had no interest, indeed coaching Australia was on his list. Its not anti Rog in reminding him of this, it's a fact!

Finally O Gara has been the best player Munster have had and is an absolute hero in my eyes. But I'll call out anyone if I see a player like Crowley being wronged and that wrong being cemented by the media

Anyone know will packages / day trips be available to Bordeaux? Presume someone will take up the mantle

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25,854 ✭✭✭✭phog

Rugby Travel Ireland had an email out where you could register an expression of interest in a trip.

Any idea what an extra round in the CC is worth to Munster financially?

The 'above his station' quote was from @almostover who seems to be a Munster follower ...

One of the more intense matches over the weekend and neutral posters want to talk about who said what about ROG, tells you all you need to now about why they visit this thread.

ROG was also one of the very first to back Crowley.

Even offered him a contract at La Rochelle, which Crowley turned down, so you could easily argue he recognised Crowley's ability before Munster.

Some of his comments in the media in the last six months have been odd, and didn't come across particularly well, even if it was just "calling it as he sees it", but even so, I think it comes from a good place of wanting Crowley and Munster to be as good as they can be.

In the last round of 16 we played LaR a team coached by a former Munster and Ireland outhalf, next week we play Bordeaux with a n outhalf who has for Munster and Ireland.

    Hopefully the dream will continue.

great result Saturday. Well done to the team and all involved, Bordeaux showed some soft edges and I think we have a bit more than Ulster, that aimless kick just before half time really did for them. Good win v Connacht, good win v La Rochelle, big games the next 2 weekends aswell, great to be at the business end of the season, if we can just keep players fit.

I haven't seen a day trip but you could do a DIY day trip, fly to Paris and train it Bordeaux

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25,854 ✭✭✭✭phog

Paddy Baird's crowd had a one night trip but it's currently fully booked (which is great to see) waiting list for another flight open now

Don't think it's hugely significant. The big earner is ticket sales, a home round-of-16 would have been a good earner.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 538 ✭✭✭CONSI

anyone know if we do beat Bordeaux do we get home country advantage for any potential semi final or will it be away no matter what

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,012 ✭✭✭oppiuy

do you know the price of that trip. im in a queue for a while now

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,513 ✭✭✭Former Former Former

No - both Toulon and Toulouse were ranked higher in the pools so a home SF isn't a possibility.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,012 ✭✭✭oppiuy

    Its 750 out of Shannon.

    Fair play Munster!

ROG's position is likely untenable now with 8 losses and a draw since January 4th. Who'd have thought they'd be fighting to stay in the top 14 two years ago?
