I think she is just dating him to find out info and to annoy James. She suspects there is something strange about James's interest in Tyler.

How many properties does Dolly own?

Joan to buy the smart office or market place if part of that maybe?

What I found funny was Greg had to go over and help her bring them over.

Could you imagine ordering a takeaway for delivery and been asked to come in a collect some of it yourself.

Hughie owns the launderette business but Dolly owns the property afaik.

I think Hughie owns the pod hostel building though.

This Tyler/James/Fidelma whodunnit thing is getting more ridiculous by the episode. Since when did the Gardai start negotiating fees for information…didnt realise they paid for info in any case..

And as for Dolly and her business woes…christ….ZZZZZzzzzzzz.

they are not gonna get far if they dont put some oomph into what they are doing - some orders were coming in and Alex was still stood there in the Van talking to everyone for ages and not even making an attempt to start firing up the coffee machine!

Paul must be raging in the shed at Deliverubs, Vinos needs business

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,276 ✭✭✭con747

Not a hope in hell a courier could deliver coffee orders alongside normal deliveries. The nature of the business is either a set route and random pick ups as they come into the office so you could be anywhere in your area covered.

What happened to the charges against Damien? If I remember correctly, he was on remand in jail last autumn ahead of a forthcoming trial ….did that trial actually take place?

So damo and Tyler are best mates now? After all the goading he did about his sister being murdered.

Dolly nearly having a breakdown at damo 😂😂

They probably have to wait for Buckley to get out of the shed before they'll even consider reviving that plotline.

Damo accidently assaulted Buckley when he was having a go at Hayley and James for putting him in the frame for the fire. The Gardai more or less know it was Anto now that James has ratted him out to Fidelma and the amount of time Damo has already served should probably count as his sentence for the assault anyway but really it should at least be mentioned that he went for a court appearance, got sentence to a few weeks in the slammer with the sentence backdated to the time already served.

Funnily enough, by ratting out Anto the Gardai should be charging with James with making a false statement. He originally claimed to have no idea how the fire started and suggested Damo as a suspect. Then he told the Gardai it was Anto. Both of those can't be true and if the Gardai believe the latter is true then James has also basically admitted that he and Hayley conspired to pervert the course of justice. Add that to the false story he told them about Tyler hiding the murder weapon and they should be sending him to prison not offering him ten times the going rate for snitching.

If the Gardaí do pay top dollar for info, then I'll make a fortune snitching on all the people I know who don't pay their TV license and get to watch Fair City for free 😜

Did Joan ever find out about Gwen's fake housemate or did she just find out about the subletting? The fake housemate seemed like such an unnecessary part of her scam.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 873 ✭✭✭Otis Hill

She did found out about the fake housemate. I presume Gwen invented the fake housemate to explain how she was affording the rent on a 3 bed house by herself. She told Joan she had a new housemate to hide the fact that the money was actually coming from the airBnB scam.

To be honest I don't understand why Joan thinks Gwen owed her money over AirBnB thing. Gwen was paying the full rent for the 3 bed house so Joan got the money from the scam that way anyway, I don't really understand what else she wants. There can't have been a huge amount of profit in it for Gwen. She didn't do it that much as Anna has only been gone since Christmas and Gwen got rumbled near the end of March. Even if she was renting it out a few days every week for the 12 weeks since Anna left she couldn't have made the thousands in profit she seemed to owe Joan when most of it would have to cover the full rent of the house anyway

Edit: just did some googling and it seems like €131 per night is roughly the average price of AirBnB for Dublin. The rent for the house would have to be at least €2000+ so Gwen would need to have been renting it out to at least one guest for at least 15 nights each month just to cover the rent and that's before taking into account the additional costs like extra heating and the cleaning that had to be done before visits etc. Granted she probably was charging over the average and Joan said the reviews were mediocre at best so she probably wasn't cleaning the place or having the heating on full blast but the margins must still have been tight. The writers are either really lazy or really stupid if they think these plots make any sense

So who got president of the shop or whatever it was? What was the point of that story?

It looks like they can't afford to have staff there full time or fair city writers or just too brain dead to incorporate different characters and storylines together at the same time.

I noticed that , all excited about their first order and yet not actually making it 😀😀

Her over acting and reaction when she twigged Tyler was weird 😀 multiple camera angles an all! Just short of having "dun dun daaaaa" sound effects

So Damos brother Mark’s wife’s sister is getting married and this new character is in Carecstown to buy a wedding dress

    How does this make sense

The backstory does make sense - the nonsense bit though is if she's in Dublin to see her sister why the hell is she spending all her time with Damo, Mairead etc

there was a time people in pubs drank alcohol, even in fair city a pint of the black stuff occasionally made an appearance, now it’s coffee coffee coffee (invisible coffee by the way….)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 873 ✭✭✭Otis Hill

Rather conventient for Tyler that Damo's sister in law is knocking around just as he seems to be insinuating that he's planning another murder..…

In all fairness, the wedding dress is flimsy reason to be hanging around this long. She is their family it's not like she needs a reason to visit and it's also kind of funny she seems to be spending way more time with her in laws than her actual family. The writers could have just said Mark had to go abroad for a work trip for a couple of weeks and she could have brought her son to see uncle Damo.

who left the card at the funeral, that seemed to go down the drain.

My guess it will be Mark that killed her.

Dry rot Dolores , the place is full of it, l can feel it in me bones

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,074 ✭✭✭✭Andy From Sligo

yeah I am a plus 1 for that Mark killed Laura - and just that Tyler is a harmless physco .

that sister in law who is there keeps pulling a funny face every now and then when Damo goes on about everyone thinking Tyler done it …. she bloody knows something and not letting on …. yet!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,276 ✭✭✭con747

I still think Tyler had nothing to do with it but the same with Mark. The wife pulling faces imo is because surely her and Mark knew Tyler was suspect number 1 and is now besties with Damo so it just doesn't make sense to her. Who knows with the idiots writing this though and how long it will drag out. It has to be one of the longest running stories after Katie in the box at this stage so they might keep going to beat it.

Don't expect anything from life, just be grateful to be alive.

Did Tyler even know Laura, meet her before, was she gone when he was around to shoot Dean

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 873 ✭✭✭Otis Hill

So Mark and Damo have learned nothing from their sisters death. None of the siblings spoke to each other for months and neither brother knew their sister had been dead for months. After the funeral they promised to always stay in touch so that they didn't end up in the same situation. Now they're saying Mark is just a Christmas card kind of guy and maybe a happy birthday text if you're lucky. So basically they're back to not even knowing for weeks at a time if anything has happened to the other.

Where is their best friend Georgie in all this? He'd bring them together 🙄

I remember Mark and laura falling out big time once, something to do with her selling the house or not wanting to sell the house and they were at loggerheads - not enough for him to want to murder his sister … but there is something not right there with the whole situation. its fishy - they are really trying to make out it was Tyler when i really think it wasnt at this stage
