Heh, the virtual game cards thing feels like inadvertently giving vaguely useful functionality (lend digital games to friends) while mainly trying to make sure people couldn't somehow have digital products installed on multiple Switch consoles at the same time...

The Switch is like a portal for all kinds of Japanese games, old and new, to be unleashed on the rest of the world. I would say it's responsible for sustaining that industry this past 7 years.

I was happy to see Pokemon A-Z at yesterday's direct, I wasn't expecting it to be shown but I noticed the graphics in yesterday's presentation looks maybe ever so slightly better than they did during the Pokemon day Direct a few weeks ago. No doubt there is also a Switch 2 version of Pokemon A-Z and that can't be shown until Nintendo do the Switch 2 Direct first. In terms of graphics it certainly looks better than Scarlet/Violet but still well below what's capable on the OG Switch from other companies. If only GameFreak/Pokemon company farmed out the graphics end of things to another company who know how to make games look really good and perform well on the Switch…

There’s studies to be done on how GF went from the developer that bled every inch out of a platform a la G/S/C, hell even as recent as USUM on 3DS, for an optimal experience to being okay with shipping something that looked as unfinished as Legends Arceus. Arceus is probably the best thing they’ve ever released but it’s kind of obnoxious how one of the richest companies in the world released something that wouldn’t look out of place as a Dreamcast beta.

They got 37 minutes out of that absolutely awful Switch Direct last week. Metroid Prime 4 was the ONLY great thing in that show, and would have been out long ago had it not gone through development hell.

So an hour for a new console presentation, along with new games presumably taking up an hour shouldn't be surprising. The initial Switch 2 reveal was only 2 minutes long, and was probably done because everyone else had leaked it.

I have saved enough to buy 2 switch 2

one each for Pokémon trading but will be satisfied with one on day one. 60 minutes means there must be incredible surprises for game releases tomorrow especially if the two treehouse events on April 3rd and 4th are being set aside for hands on experience.

Maybe I'm a dreamer here but please Nintendo don't screw this up.

Most premium hardware Nintendo has delivered imo. 4K, HDR and 120Hz. I didn't think they'd hit ALL those specs.
