my mothers homemade lasagne. Had a portion for lunch and still it’s the best, mmmm. Literally stopped ordering lasagne out because nowhere makes it as nice, she sticks rigidly to the same recipe, same measurements of everything and makes it nice and thick and yummy…lovely bite and flavour to it. Not watery and pumped full of garlic as seems to be the way in loads of cafes and restaurants these days, but this homemade one, everything from the bite, texture, flavour it’s 10/10. The flavour of the meat, sauce, cheese and pasta to the fore…. 10/10, perfect. 😋

Saw a great response to a scammer on Facebook.

The Daily Mirror page had a report on a Mayo crash from a few weeks back. The cyclist involved just died in hospital.

There were the usual tributes from people and then along comes Agastya Apte from India with "We witnessed this incident live on our camera. You can watch complete footage here." followed by a dodgy link.

The quick response from a lad called Damien. He said "Agastya Apte - We witnessed you washing your snatch with vindaloo."

no contact with manager in work today.

    i dont hate the guy.

but i dont like to see him round either.

went the full day, he stayed hidden in his office. heard him yapping through the wall for 10 secs. never saw him.

a nice little feeling of lightness. he should do that more often.

I like Knight’s bar in Clontarf Castle. Do they still have the fancy Avoca hand soap in the bathrooms there?

I made it to Derry, after all my years I eventually have visited every county..

It was worth the wait, lovely people, great bars…

Sadly I only had one night, but I will be back...

A collection of coincidences meant that I was able to buy a homemade Ukraine apple cake quarter and recycle two large bags of times/bottles for charity before 10 a.m.!

Cake seems to be going down well too!

Was waiting for some of the kids at the local all weather pitch last weekend, I spotted a toddler, his two older sisters and his dad trying to keep up with him. The toddler was mad to get on the pitch where I think it was his mum was playing soccer. Every second he was on his own he was running to get to onto the pitch, with the speed that only a motivated toddler has!

One of the two female coaches spotted this and threw a slightly burst football over the fence to the family; the toddler screamed with delight and kicked the ball to his sisters and dad.

Th that It looked such a natural thing for the coach to give the ball to a small child, and the child enjoyed kicking it around.

Th2 that at least one less male to tell me in the future that "girls can't play football"(an attitude I have met endlessly since I was a toddler)

That I have actually slept in the last two nights . I know it’s medically induced , but I seem to have found a spot where I can sleep and it doesn’t hurt my back .
Also even though I don’t do much , my appetite is better .

that’s where we ended up. Didn’t notice the soap though unfortunately….food, service, comfort and ambiance was 10/10.. as was our timing, just finished dessert as the gang of giggling tipsy young wans sat down at the adjacent table… from the little of them we experienced it wasn’t going to be fun.

For todays TH…..Thought the gym was closing at 5pm but it’s actually 6pm so I can go after all…

Character names in the Bond films. Watching Moonraker and Bond is introduced to a female character called Dr Goodhead. They don't write them like that anymore

Had a really lovely Sunday today, God bless the auld sunshine. Went to leave flowers at my mums grave this morning, then went for lunch with a friend. Toasted Sausage sambo oh yeah.

Then took a walk across a local walking spot absolutely packed with happy families, dogs that look like teddy bears and smiley people. Finished the day with a pint in the local and now having dinner with that summer heat fading from the day and a face full of sun starting to glow with that nice after heat.

If we had more sun this would definitely be the best country in the world.

I do love Ireland in the sun.

Today I got the keys to my first house. I bought on my own. It´s at the edge of a rural village. Goodbye landlords!

Been dragging on since September and so many delays and stress but it finally got done.

I am sure to be in the ranting thread one day soon when I cause a DIY disaster haha! I have zero skills and rely on the University of Youtube

The newspapers in the local shop never scan at the self service machine, never have… barcodes don’t get recognised… Never worked once over all the years…. Tried again tonight as the Q’s for the manned tills were lengthy, and they suddenly scan ! Saved myself 5 minutes of Qing, quite happy about that….

After a long weather, get to finally stand beside the sidelines for football training and it's still bright, and it's sunny and got to walk and talk with the mammies and do a few laps of the pitch.

    What more could you want!

On the trivial annoyance thread (like a clown) threw out a thin online package handy bottle opener trolley type tool - 20 euro plus including delivery. Wanted it to open car fob in emergency etc.

But I feel like I am on a comeback. Found a Trolley tool looks like it can be used for fob etc. Only 2 Euro and free delivery!

Plus I have one of those odd colds that don’t make you sneeze/cough. Just sore throat with the bonus of feeling dopey as if high. Very relaxed altogether. Haven’t been hungry. Getting better, I think.

I might even chance eating one of the buns a neighbours little girl made, later on Knowing full well after not eating for a few days, the taste buds will really saviour food again. Appreciating it.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

The bottom of the garden has been left to grow wild, and it's quite overgrown now. Because of this, a lot of local cats visit to watch birds or nap in the glasshouses.

Yesterday, I was pegging out some washing, and one came over to me and showed me his tum. Now I'm a seasoned cat mum and know better than that. His next move was to walk closer to mark me.

Just as he arrived, the breeze blew up the odour from some of the residual pot smell straight into the cat's face. the look of disgust on his face as he ran in the opposite direction, just as I begin to think I was the only one who felt like that.

Th that cats can raise a smile even in my depleted and upset state.

Made my pharmacist smile yesterday when I added lube to my prescription. He’s never added “Be good” to his goodbye's before

Walking through the park yesterday, I heard screams of laughter, The top pitch had a classful of youngsters(girls of 11-14 maybe) who were learning rugby ball games as part of the taster sessions the local club was running.

Such a great idea aimed at just the group who would drop out and they looked like they were having so much fun!

I am now amused because of how bad that post was. All over the shop, I really must have been in a cold haze. Really weird cold. Just a dopey head on me for ages.

A week of eating feck all, must not have helped.
I think I am getting slowly better now….

How can I diagnose that? I have homemade 8oz/half pounder burger and chips - on the brain. The local chipper now - the proper chips.
I think I dreamt of eating the stuff already. Jayus I am looking forward to it.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

my delivery arrived earlier then due and I managed to answer the door late as I was just out of the shower. Got dressed, opened the door and he was actually quite a few doors up the road making his next delivery but saw me when he was returning to his van so I got it…. 👍🏻

Pure luck my neighbour had a delivery and that he looked up and noticed me at my door…

Proper music. I don't care how old you think that makes me. This is a proper tune. The first time I heard this man sing was on Live At 3 with Thelma Mansfield and Derek Davis. He sany Danny Boy and i have never heard a version to match it. Made me rethink what music should be. I may also be a little drunk and emotional after the rugby this afternoon.
