I would argue that it also sets the precedent that if you have assets/investments on our territory, held in our institutions, and you then illegally invade a sovereign nation, then we will absolutely seize your assets..

It was great poking fun at the North Koreans in the beginning, as if the situation were a joke, but it became clear that the initial assessment, which was very pro Ukraine and therefore easy to stomach, is no longer accurate.

Those initial assessments were fine for the brief time they were relevant, but they went away, licked their wounds and came back with new tactics and were no longer a joke. They played a big part in routing the Ukrainians from Kursk, so quickly Ukrainians had to abandon ammunition supplies and vehicles, including an Abrams M1A1 tank, and had to make it out of Kursk on foot.

Ukrainians told how they were stretched too thin and were overwhelmed. They had positions being defended by 6 UA which were each attacked by 50 NK. Clearly a lot of Ukrainians lost their lives and were the bullet catchers.

Here's the video, I found it hard viewing because it doesn't sugar coat the truth and doesn't tell a nice story in which the Ukrainians were on the winning side.

That Orc drone group Rubicon sound like they are deadly and have suspiciously good top-tier equipment and intel.

I fear they are really low on air defence missiles, especially Patriots. The ratio of missiles and drones incoming vs the numbers claimed to have been intercepted seems to have gotten a lot worse and is headed the wrong way.

I posted previously about the how the US logistics people in Poland seem to be being deliberately unhelpful to the point Australia can't get it's tanks to Ukraine because the normal route was through these now unhelpful people. Doesn't take much to extrapolate that to other stuff like Patriot missiles and HIMARS not getting through this choke point.

I'm not sure I believe that announcement of agent Kraznov resuming weapons deliveries. I suspect it might be something that was said, but not done in reality. Obviously Ukraine is not in a position where it's going to contradict Kraznov in public given the other things going on.

The bloody Belgian Prime Minister is being particularly unhelpful on this issue because most of the funds are in Belgium. I hope the consensus besotted EU roll over him, but I have my doubts.

    Mongrel. I'm all right jack.

At Least 4 Russians Dead After Tourist Submarine Sinks In Egypt

People walk next to an ambulance in front of the hospital where the bodies of Russian tourists killed in the submarine incident are kept in Hurghada, March 27

At least four Russians died after a tourist submarine sank off the coast Hurghada, Egypt on March 27.

Oh dear. You don't suppose any of them were acting the prawn as they so often do wherever they go, making it self-inflicted? Where's that little bottle I keep my tears in…

The former head of the Ukrainian Army, Valery Zaluzhnyi, currently ambassador in London, said that Romania asked him not to reveal that Russian drones fell on the territory of our country.

The former commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and Ukraine's current ambassador to the United Kingdom, Valery Zaluzhny, said that Romania asked him not to talk about the shooting down of Russian drones on its territory.

According to the former commander of the Ukrainian Army, the Baltic countries, Poland and Romania are concerned about the effectiveness of NATO's Article 5, which states that an attack on one of the Alliance's countries means an attack on the entire Alliance.

The statements took place in early March, during a conversation with students in Lviv.

At that time, the Ukrainian publication TSN published a material on this subject, but the Ukrainian press has now taken up the passages from Zaluzhnyi's conference, referring to the pressure to which the states of the Eastern Flank are subjected and the moment when Romania has repeatedly asked not to reveal information about the downing of drones on their territory.

"They understand that there is no such thing as Article Five, there never was. Poland understands this, where our missiles periodically fall, then the Russian ones. Romania in general understands everything, but is silent. And sometimes he calls me and tells me not to mention that two Shaheed kamikaze drones have fallen (in Romania)."

Zaluzhny added that Romania has even complained about the functioning of Ukrainian electronic warfare systems, which have changed the trajectory of drones and caused them to fall on their territory.

"They call and say, 'Why did you turn on those electronic warfare devices of yours?' "(drones) flew at us."

"So take them off," I replied. "You have 40 F-16s," the former commander-in-chief also said.

One more argument for supporting Ukraine

The former Commander of the Ukrainian Army also warned that Russia's actions have become more and more effective.

Once Ukraine falls, the states on NATO's Eastern Flank would have to deal with a Russian Army that has refined its combat actions, increased the production of the military-industrial complex, and after the war will accumulate significant quantities of weapons.

For example, Zaluzhny shows that Russia launches about 3 thousand missiles and drones on Ukraine monthly. Interceptor missiles are impossible to produce quickly, and any country will run out of stock within a month.

Rather confirms my speculation that there is a severe shortage of intercept missiles.

Near boggles the mind to think that the Orcs are getting enough western components to allow them to manufacture so many drones and missiles. You can bet your life sanctions would be water tight if it was US towns and power stations being hit.

Just imagine how many they will be able to make when Kraznov lifts sanctions.

Nice rebuttal suggesting the Romanians STFU and do something instead of suggesting other peoples kids die to make their stinking diplomacy easier.

About the US UKR minerals "deal". Lets see where THIS version goes. Now even worse for Ukraine - the demands from US

There’s a new draft of the U.S.-Ukraine minerals deal. It’s a sharp break from the version agreed on the day talks collapsed in the Oval Office. And it stuns with what Washington demands.Zelensky didn’t comment, except saying nuclear plants are out of the deal.

HERE IS THE TWITTER THREAD UNROLLED:

When you don't want someone to agree to a deal, just make it unacceptable so you can criticise them when they reject it.

Nothing has changed. Agent Kraznov continues to lick his putrid masters boots on command.

that’s a rotten deal. I suppose it’s all about delay so Ukraine can gets its missile and drone production numbers up…. And maybe Europe can gets it act together too.

One of the most radioactive marine regions in the former Soviet Union is the Arctic Ocean. Why? Because a large number of nuclear-powered submarines, left over from the Cold War, were decommissioned in the Russian style, being sunk on the seabed.

Under one of the world's busiest fishing grounds, several Soviet-era radioactive submarines have been stranded on the seabed for decades.

For 17 years, Moscow has promised that this "underwater tomb", which houses two Soviet nuclear submarines and four reactor modules, will be cleaned.

However, it was not until March 2020 that Russian President Vladimir Putin prepared a federal decree requiring the implementation of a project to lift two ships from the seabed. This would reportedly reduce the amount of radioactive material in the Arctic Ocean by 90%.

Zelensky will swallow the minerals deal if he thinks it will help keep Trump onside. He doesn't care about that stuf…

Am I the only one seeing the elephant in the room?

US has to provide guarantees because if they don’t good luck collecting anything from Putin if he takes over Ukraine (and for that matter anything from occupied territories) if they lose the war

And if Ukraine just walks away or next president cancels it, then what

The “deal” (if above tweet is true) is so stupidly ridiculous

In a world without rule of law and contracts, deals literally don’t matter

I don't see Ukraine being the ones delaying, and if you meant Krasnov is delaying to help Ukraine and the EU, well that would be a fantasy.

Not to mention higher levels of radiation at the site. Seems that Putin had nuclear weapons parked there too.

In a surprise to no one.

Ukraine ceasefire on brink as EU refuses to lift Russia sanctions

Russia must fully withdraw from Ukraine before European Union sanctions on Moscow can be lifted, Brussels warned on Wednesday in a blow to Donald Trump’s hopes of striking a quick ceasefire deal.
The US president agreed to Russian demands that international sanctions be lifted in return for the partial truce in the Black Sea after marathon talks in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday.
The White House has also made clear that Ukraine would have to cede territory to Russia as part of a final peace deal, which the European Commission has rejected.
Mr Trump, who has sidelined European leaders from his negotiations with Vladimir Putin, will need the EU, Britain and other Western allies to agree to remove their sanctions.
However, a European Commission spokesman said on Wednesday: “The end of the Russian unprovoked and unjustified aggression in Ukraine and unconditional withdrawal of all Russian military forces from the entire territory of Ukraine would be one of the main preconditions to amend or lift sanctions.”

    Bit of a stretch there.

I'm all for criticising the orange buffoon when he deserves it but not knowing about the troops being missing doesn't mean that he doesn't care about American soldiers. He does have a lot on his plate and can't know everything about everything within a few hours of it happening.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,570 ✭✭✭thatsdaft

Did you miss the time he called them all “losers” or the times he shat upon veterans?

If he is not capable of doing his job due to senility perhaps he shouldn’t be president

No, I didn't miss it. He said it a good few months ago. He didn't say it in the clip you linked so I didn't mention it.

Still a stretch to say he didn't care about the missing American soldiers when he didn't know that they were missing.

You reckon someone not telling him about the missing soldiers is a sign that he is senile? Really?

You are doing more stretching in those last two posts than a yoga master.

He's an ar5ehole but at least blame him for things that he deserves to be blamed for.

A day is more than a few hours, and you are glossing over the utter lack of concern or interest he displayed when asked. Secretary for Hair Gel Hegseth clearly hadn't bothered to tell Krasnov something he knew he wouldn't care about and couldn't care less about. He is utterly vile with no redeeming qualities whatsoever.

A new report has claimed that former President Donald Trump allegedly made belittling remarks about a wounded US Army veteran after he sang God Bless America during his presidency. At a welcome ceremony of Gen. Mark Milley at Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall in 2019, Donald passed the comments about Army captain Luis Avila, who was seriously injured in Afghanistan. Luis had lost a leg in an IED attack.

“Why do you bring people like that here? No one wants to see that, the wounded,” Donald allegedly told Mark before multiple witnesses. He said this while walking over to congratulate Luis following the performance, according to The Atlantic.

Mark had handpicked Luis to perform, who had successfully completed five combat tours. He suffered two heart attacks, two strokes, and brain damage due to his injuries.

Reportedly, Luis' wheelchair nearly flipped over, when Mark’s wife Hollyanne, as well as then-Vice President Mike Pence, rushed to help. Donald was later seen greeting Luis. He then told Mark to not let Luis appear in public ever again. Mark considered Luis and his wife, Claudia, to be symbols of American heroism and sacrifice.

I get that people hate Trump. I really do. I also think he is a dangerous clown.

But he is being blamed for the actions of others. He couldn't tell himself about the missing soldiers. Someone else should have told him.

And yeah, it was scummy of him to criticise wounded soldiers. I do acknowledge that, but he didn't do that in the clip that was proported to show him not caring about the missing soldiers.

His reaction wasn't bad when the missing soldiers were mentioned, he looked like he hadn't the foggiest.

Secretary for Hair Gel. 🤣 I'll give you 10/10 for that one.

If I, a randon Irishman, knows that there are active-duty US Soldiers missing, presumed dead, in Lithuania, it's fair to say that it's gross negligence for their commander in chief to not know about it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,867 ✭✭✭✭BattleCorp

As you, a random Irishman, you aren't the President of the USA with probably 100 things on the go at any one time. I read about the missing soldiers earlier today, you know……..when I was busy not being the President of the USA with the 100 things on the go at any one time.

But yeah, you'd expect that someone on his staff would tell him about it. Is that Trump's negligence, or the negligence of the staff around him? I'd be blaming the staff rather than the tangerine.

Do we need to check his truth social postings for that day to see what important manners were occupying his mind?

Or his public quotes that day denying that his underlings were busy sharing war plans in real-time with a journalist on an insecure platform

Trump picked the staff. The "best people". A bunch of amoral incompetent stooges picked because they would do Trump's bidding, no matter how vile or amoral or illegal.

It's all on Trump every which way you look at it.

I think this is a more valid criticism rather than trying to say he didn't care about the soldiers because he didn't know about it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 37,105 ✭✭✭✭odyssey06

    Nope. It's all valid criticism.

He doesn't care about the soldiers. This is obvious to anyone paying attention to Trump's conduct where he has shown contempt for US soldiers. If the staff thought it was something he cared about, they might have stopped spreading hate and updated Trump on it.

He doesn't care about anyone but himself. Any concern expressed for others is purely for him to spread hate or grandstand.
