Was that in his private DMs? Most of the stuff I saw criticising him was comments like "I'm disappointed in him", "He is wrong about immigration", "He is naïve" etc, certainly not people calling him a racist or a bigot or a member of the Irish far right.

There was some pretty vile disgusting comments under the videos and I do not know about dms

His close influencer mates have also talked on the treatment he got

His home address being put on line plus threatening him and his family should have AGS involved imho

Don’t like this craic one bit of posting someone’s address especially over something like you disagreed with them what the fcuk.

“I don’t like the things you said and therefore you deserve to die and I’ll post your address online with the hope someone comes and causes you harm”

    its psychotic.

If he got abuse and closed his account simply because of saying something positive about trans people, the same people who are sneering at him and dismissing him here would be supporting him and not saying he's attention-seeking, and agreeing that online pile-ons are awful? Absolutely.

Personally I'd express the same view in either scenario. Online ganging-up is sh1tty.

    I'm mint.

"The government continually doesn't allow people to express their concerns about that (immigration) " this is a lie and it's why I don't feel sorry for him. Idiotic statement and backs up with what the rapist said last week. Shouldn't have went near the issue and stuck with the teabags although its increased his profile , maybe he knew what he was doing all along. 4D Chess.

That Tate/Hopkins/Farage grift-train is a profitable one if he has decided to hop onto it tbf.

Tbf he'd be better off toeing the line of the Irish far left grift train if he wanted to make a few bob, we're throwing billions at these NGO's per year, the Farages and Hopkins of this world have to work hard for their money, Ireland Inc has been bank rolling the far left for years now.

Wow that part isn't correct but everything else he said is true.

There is a massive problem here. The people that don't agree will agree when it's to late and the problems are affecting them or their loved ones directly.

I don't actually think it's a problem tbh a good fair discussion should be had over immigration.

The trouble (as you can see even in this thread alone) is there is absolutely no middle ground available for anybody on this topic anymore because everyone is already either 'far right' or 'far left' and it's just entrenched opinions that will not budge a single inch whatsoever.

Moderate opinion is completely and utterly ignored in the ensuing hysteria.

Which "far left" NGOs are there? Genuinely curious.

Ah yes, NGOs - the Boogeyman of the right wingers.

Which NGO is it now? Disability Federation of Ireland? Threshold? Amnesty International? FLAC? The Legal Aid Board?

Yeah I don't get the demonisation of NGOs. Which ones and why?

    I'm mint.

I was wondering much of the day, if Garron Noone got any coverage in the Sunday Papers!

The Irish Times had an opinion article, but based on the timestamps on it, maybe in print on Monday!: -

    image.png

Garron Noone shows it’s hard to find the words to talk about immigration

Unthinkable: The TikTok star has proved his own thesis correct – it’s impossible to say anything ‘useful’ on social media

    • There is something ridiculous about posting a video warning about the risk of being “misconstrued” on social media
    • about 75 per cent of what Noone had to say could have come from the Minister for Justice. Noone said “the systems that we have in place are being taken advantage of”. Jim O’Callaghan said last month “there are too many people seeking international protection who are not entitled to it”.
    • Noone has separately proved his own thesis correct: it’s impossible to have a sane political debate on social media, especially in an era of content manipulation by Big Tech.

I found a link to it on a German site (https://www.bytesde.com/905582/) that linked above. Also same link shared on Italian site. (https://www.csseo.org/576199/). So our own little corner of the world is been judged and criticized?

Clearly from the comments on this thread and on immigration thread, this risk of being “misconstrued” is in full effect and demonstrated!

Edit: - I shared the frontpage last night on socials and didn't notice the heading photo. Edited in above.

That part is a crucial lie. Despite what a few lunatics think , we do not live in a dictatorship. People are free to express their views on immigration. We had a recent democratic election and the staunch anti immigration candidates got 2% or less of the overall vote. Their views were not suppressed , they were just not supported.

    The usual level of response.

Of course nobody has issue with charitable organisations (although a fair number have been embroiled in financial scandals).

There are absolutely pointless organisations that draw money from the taxpayer that offer nothing of value, we hear their leaders on radio shows etc talking about various left wing issues.

It's a great racket tbf, but of course it's not a racket (wink wink) and just the "right" being paranoid as usual. Give me a break.

Can you name some of these organisations and the billions you referred to?

The entirely predictable response when challenged on the threat of NGO's. Identical to the response when challenged on woke.

One that came up recently was the CEO of an NGO called Action Aid, her name is Carol Balfe and she was in Newstalk breakfast talking about what government minsters going to the US for Paddy's day should be saying to the representatives of the US government that they meet.

The usual wishy washy nonsense, on the surface the organisation seems like a good idea, looking out for women and girls in potentially dangerous situations globally, but she then starts waffling that climate change disproportionately effects women as well as other lunacy.

She's seemingly making €87k a year for this codswallop and was clearly incapable of dealing with cross examination of her ideas, probably because she's used to preaching to the choir and having her right on left wing buddies nodding along in agreement.

So yeah the Irish NGO sector is a fantastic way to make money for absolutely nothing, but of course I'm just some paranoid fascist for saying so.

I never said there was a threat posed by these organisations.

I pointed out that they're a waste of money.

We do have a crippling housing crisis and healthcare crisis to name two issues affecting Irish society that could benefit from the money wasted on NGO'S being redistributed.

NGO's should be a good thing, but when you funnel public money into them the way we do in Ireland they end up becoming a odd aparatus of the state in many cases. Which goes against the grain of what an NGO should be.

Nobody has called you a facist , id call you a liar though. The government dont give billions annually to far left NGOs. Your example is woeful as well, thats a charity that gives out money to women in poverty around the world. They received 900K in public funding in 2023. I can send you a link their annual report to see the work they do? Or would you like to just continue being incorrect ? 87k a year for a CEO even as a charity is very little.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,553 ✭✭✭✭nullzero
    °°°°°

So you're happy that 900k was handed to them from the public purse?

Surely they should rely on donations from private citizens?

And why does a charity CEO need more than twice the average industrial income for exactly?

Lets face it, charity CEO's in Ireland don't exactly have a good track record when it comes to finances either.

That is about 30% of their income , the rest is donations. I'm happy after a 3 minute look at their annual report that they got some government funding, yes. Your points aren't bad re charity Ceos etc. Although depending on organisation size you won't get a competent CEO for dirt cheap , pay peanuts get monkeys and all that.

Are you going to backtrack on your point saying we give billions annually to far left NGOs? It's just not correct and it's not helpful . The sweeping lies from both sides doesnt help any real debate.

The Tate Brothers, Jordan Peterson, Russel Brand, Ben Shapiro, Tim Poole and many other Joe Rogan guests would disagree.

If you want to make money online, it’s the right wing grift.

It’s hilarious how you’ll twist so many posts to attack “the left”. When country has been run by FFG since it was born.

€87k for a CEO? There’s nothing fantastic about that. Absolutely nothing.

Sometimes I wonder if you posts are clever satire. This is one of those cases.
