Stove not burning correctly

    See video below.

Stove is only burning beside the oil inlet. I've had a lot of trouble with this stove getting it to burn cleanly.

I've got a direct feed from oil tank to the stove, so should have sufficient pressure/flow. The oil flow into the stove is controlled by a Toby valve. No matter what setting I use it is a yellow sooty flame.

I've been left on my own with by the manufacturer who has been very rude and abrupt when I or installer have called for assistance.

We have already installed 2 of these with no issue. So the installer is not a novice.

To me the issue is with the pot. I've tried cleaning it out before to remove carbon build up (it isn't used enough for a deposit to develop) and to ensure that the pot is getting hot enough to vapourise the oil.

What could be happening here and how could I resolve this?

What make of stove is it?

I know very little about vaporising oil applicances, but there does seem to be quite a considerable draft affecting the flame in your video - might it be excessive?

The Stanley vaporising cookers have permanently open draft stabilisation in the flue system.

    What is the manufacturer saying?

Manufacturer is refusing to help. It is called a Bubble oil stove.

They say that it is a simple setup and should work. They are also used on canal boats.

There are 2 other ones in the family. Also one which is back to back with this one and it works perfectly. The setups are identical.

Have you tried cleaning out the supply lines and then a sample of oil in a can from a tank that you know is working correctly.

Your delivery might have some diesel in it. Worth a try seeing as you've tried almost everything else.

The stove that is backing onto it burns perfect:

This tells me that fuel, flue, ventilation are fine.

The problem stove never worked. They struggled to commission it. So I think the issue is something with the low fire and or high fire settings on the Toby valve.

I'm going to give it all a good clean first to get rid of as much carbon/soot I can incase that is affecting vapourisation.

The issue could be that the descaling device on the oil inlet is coked up.

It might be that low fire is not running in blue flame combustion or there is an air leak caused by the ignition port plug. Probably the former.

    Any advice appreciated.
