I'm baffled how Katie is presenting on radio and TV. Shes absolutely useless

I’m in faraway parts at the moment. I was sent a video of a Dublin horse and cart person whipping tourists who tried to avoid paying. Not that I condone fare-dodging, but surely his retribution was excessive and should lead to a criminal charge for assault? I was on the receiving end of a whip to the legs (accidentally) as a teenager. The pain was excruciating, the mark stayed for over a year.

Has Joe or Katie covered this topic?

Yes, the salary is enormous, I understand that, but that doesn't affect my soul.

Caller, whipped tourists don't know that Joe even exists

There was a segment on the news about how it's the longest time of no aid arriving in Gaza since the conflict started. Then there was an ad break and an ad for Goal who said UNICEF were on the ground in Gaza and desperately need donations. Well based on the news report that clearly is not true. Why is no one talking about that??

    Liveline has gone wimmin mad.

Only jokin but it’s lost its uniqueness as it stays away from current affairs or controversy the last while.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,989 ✭✭✭✭LambshankRedemption

Was it a self published book?

It is something of a niche topic.

Yes I'd have thought punters stuck in Heathrow would be covered, olden days Liveline would have been organising truck drivers to pick them up on the way to Holyhead.

we are lucky there is nothing happening in the news, instead of this absolute rubbish

Ah I remember it well back in the days when programmes like liveline were an opportunity for the ordinary citizens to vent, a kind of pressure release valve for the nation where topics of the day were discussed by the educated and uneducated alike, which was a good thing and a necessary thing.. That time is long gone alas, it's all about the overriding message these days with the constant infantilisation of the populace continously warned to stay in line

What in God's name is this sh1te!?

KT trying to out-misery Joe an doing a bang up job

Bak to the origins of Luveline when it started out as Women's Hour?

I was kind of hoping they might discuss the outrageous internet pile on on Garron "follow me, I'm delicious" Noone today by the right-on brigade just for voicing a reasonable opinion

    No such chance, of course

'and why was she called nurse Kinsella ?'

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24,115 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

Elderly woman talking about her granny.

Katie: "She was known as nurse Kinsella. People might remember that."

    Very few I bet.

is this the rural version of Duffys “Dublin in the old times?”

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 284 ✭✭balanced24

Not a chance todays Liveline would cover it, someone being cancelled would be prime fodder for a call in show, but they’d have to address the issues raised which is forbidden.

'we have a lot of calls coming in this'

    ha, that's bullshite

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 16,443 ✭✭✭✭Arghus

Joe is, in so many ways, an absolutely appalling broadcaster, but I have to say when the show is helmed by Katie it's just so, so, boring. Even PBH is more entertaining.

I was wondering who he was. his videos kept on appearing for me on tiktok, despite never liking or commentating on 1 of them. obliviously paying for placement. had to block the idiot to stop them appearing

🤢 🤮 I can't stand her. But they look a little like each other. They could pass for brother and sister.
