    I wouldn't consider myself as a ghoul.

That post would fit well with the way of thinking of the clowns showing middle fingers and spitting, while filming it..

I don't get, why there is so much of need to belong to this or the other camp. Worrying part for me is some posters would push their narrative as a holy grail, and if you don't agree damn you... That applies to both "camps". There's basically nothing black and white in life.. So you won't see me waving Palestinian or Israeli flag, that's for sure

I've asked before on this thread, if anyone has any figures on how much of international humanitarian help is being misused for other targets. No answer to that. I've seen poster here talking about radicalisation, of this and that, not really discussed much about the level of radicalisation in Gaza.

I'll side with Israel (for the most, and disagree with the way it's being done, disagree to point with the politicians in charge) and at the same time I can side with Gazans too ( and do not buy one single thing Hamás says or does). Just no need on my side to repeating myself 20 times a day. Or blindly copying articles, from whatever source, because it fits someone's narrative. At the start of this thread I've pointed out that Israel's response to October attack will be heavy. Basically anyone could see that outcome..

But now everyone is scratching their heads about the level of response?

Anything done to avoid any of this? On both sides? Or we'll keep reading oh come on, those people never had the right to this or that land? Don't think that road will lead the two nations to peace. Nor do I think the two nations (edit: parts of their population) can exist beside each other (at the moment and for foreseeable future), without trying killing each other.

And please spear me of usual questions, this thread is famous for, being asked ad nauseam, that goes for both teams.

    Excellent post…..

You're starting to verge into the territory as to why a Palestinian life is worth less than an Israeli. Which you quite simply have to if you defend Israel.

I've never gotten an answer, but then again a lack of an answer is also an answer.

Hamas have to be got rid of but I do believe Israel could have been a lot more precise about taking out the hamas leaders rather than collective punishment. I know it would be difficult but I think it could have been done .

I always said it I think Israel should man up and go in there directly to take them out not bombs that will kill HAMAS and civilians. HAMAS however seem to relish hiding amongst the general population. I guess a cornered dog will resort to such desperate measures.

You Post like as if none of us have seen the videos of IDF soldiers using citizens as shields.

The IDF targeted Hezbollah leadership very effectively by managing to get bombs in to the possession of several of them. Bombs which they could then activate at a moment of their choosing. Which they did.

Nethanyahu, by his own admission emboldened Hamas because he knew he could use them to justify his genocide.

It's criminal that he has been supported so much by western powers and practically applauded by posters like yourself pushing this false narrative.

Answers were given, as best they could be, on Hamas reportedly taking humanitarian aid. I believe those answers were given directly in response to your question. But to repeat, it is certain that Hamas stole humanitarian aid. It is also certain that Israel currently refuses to let aid in. It is also a fact that Settlers prevented aid entering Gaza and burned out some of those trucks. How much was taken by Hamas is unknown.

And isn't it interesting that it seems only to be pro Israeli's who have an issue with articles from the BBC, RTE, Haaretz, Times of Israel etc. In fact, in my opinion, that response reflects that of Israel itself - they despise any negative press - hence banning the press from Gaza and sanctioning Haaretz. And then calling journalists (even politicians) out as "anti semitic".

It's almost as if those news reports are despised because it doesn't suit the pro Israeli narrative - not that it suits the pro-Palestinian narrative at all. People here post factual news items opinion pieces from very respected journalists. I have personally posted items about both the plight of Palestinians and the plight of hostages and their families.

Unfortunately for those discomforted by the truth, these forums (thankfully) do not censor it.

Fortunately, for those seeking the truth to assist in making informed decisions, those posts will continue.

His cracks in Feb. this year about weight of the Gazan men being rounded up and stripped to underwear by the IDF (photos from Oct/Nov 2023) were better, very funny! 🤢

He also needed to get the far right back on side - hence bringing Ben-Gvir back into the Cabinet - which Gvir would only do if the war recommenced.

And if you thought Netanyahu was as mad as a wet hen, Gvir will give you the shivers. He has no filter at al. Some of his quotes were used in evidence to the ICJ to prove "intent" to commit Genocide.

Here's what he said just over a year ago:

Far-right Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir demanded the army shoot Palestinian women and children in Gaza during a cabinet meeting, according to the Israeli media on Monday.

“We cannot have women and children getting close to the border... anyone who gets near must get a bullet [in the head],”

Ben-Gvir said during a debate with Israeli military chief Herzi Halevi on the army’s “open-fire” rules at the cabinet meeting on Sunday.

Latest news items from Haaretz - these are available via a free daily email if you provide your email address.

The anger is growing within Israel for the resumption of hostilities and the failure to release the hostages, which Hamas had agreed to.

    • Israel's security cabinet postponed a discussion about the hostages in Gaza and in its place will convene on Thursday evening to vote on the dismissal of Shin Bet chief Ronen Bar. The Hostages and Missing Families Forum said the families were "furious" and had been asking for an urgent meeting with PM Netanyahu and the security cabinet for a week, but "have yet to receive a response."
    • Thousands protested near the private residence of PM Netanyahu in Jerusalem against the dismissal of Shin Bet chief Ronen Bar and to demand an immediate hostage release deal. The police launched water cannon at them at point-blank range. A police officer was filmed pushing Democrats party leader Yair Golan, knocking him to the ground.

"In the current round, it is difficult to find even a shred of justification for the decision to renew the war.

From any perspective, this is a war of choice. This is not a war for survival. It is a political war, made possible by the blind support of U.S. President Donald Trump for Israel and Netanyahu.

Once again, Netanyahu's demagogic and false justification for launching the war is that Hamas refused to release the hostages and, thus, to inflict on it a final blow" – Yossi Melman

I know how nuts Ben-Gvir is and its sad to see him back in the cabinet. I look forward to the day when Bibi is jailed for corruption and hopefully more. As long as the dar right and Bibi are unchecked expect more bloodshed.

I don't know how people can be ok with the murder of innocent babies and children.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,783 ✭✭✭dmcdona

Indeed - I think the difficult thing to understand is the outrage of Israelis and their supporters regarding the murder of children on Oct 7th yet it's tumbleweed for the many tens of thousands of kids murdered in Gaza from 8th October onwards.

And over 700 of them didn't even reach their first birthday.

Israel killed a four month old just yesterday. Sickening. Four months old - born during war and lived for just 120 days.

But we still see the justification for this even here.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,074 ✭✭✭skimpydoo

Whats worse is the claims of Israeli babies been beheaded etc on October 7th. Most of this has proven to be Israeli propagandist bullshit. In the past 2 days more people have been killed than on October 7th, how can people be ok with that?

Evidently because they are Palestinians, the acceptance of such wanton slaughter by apparantly normal people is akin to Germany in the 1940s

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,253 ✭✭✭Bishop of hope

So we have another word for Israeli kids killed on October 7 tonight.

    "Tumbleweed".

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,783 ✭✭✭dmcdona

I don't think I've ever seen a post taken this much out of context.

    To quote what I posted:

I think the difficult thing to understand is the outrage of Israelis and their supporters regarding the murder of children on Oct 7th yet it's tumbleweed for the many tens of thousands of kids murdered in Gaza from 8th October onwards.

Edit: on reflection, it's actually not even taken out of context - it is a complete misquote of what I posted.

Wow, you managed to read that completely wrong. Biased?

What are they doing in the Hyacinth House?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,783 ✭✭✭dmcdona

It was worse than that - Zaka embellished the truth (that's being kind) to tug in the heart strings of Israelis to donate money to them.

So Zaka used examples of atrocities that were utterly debunked, to make cold hard cash. Out of their dead Israeli compatriots. Nearly 14 million dollars

    Absolutely disgusting.

ZAKA faced insolvency before 7 October 2023. Given the job of retrieving the dead bodies after the 7 October 2023, they started fund-raising on 8 October 2023. By 31 January 2024, they had raised over $13.7 million.

According to Haaretz, ZAKA's conduct in the aftermath of the attacks was unprofessional, including mixing up remains and spreading misinformation about atrocities that never happened in order to raise money.

You say practically applauded because you know I've not actually applauded.

HAMAS and those ordering the IDF around are horrible creatures. They'll never coexist and the big losers are the Palestinians who don't support HAMAS. The only reason the Israeli civilians won't be big losers is because their army is superior but many of them will still die. Give HAMAS half a chance and we know what they'll do. They'll viscously target civilians.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 554 ✭✭✭Bitcoin

Hamas are the only ones keeping a lid on a complete genocide of the Palestinians in Gaza.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,259 ✭✭✭RoyalCelt

HAMAS are the biggest threat to a genocide on the Gazan people. Palestinians in the West Bank have to put up with some absolute bullshit but the danger is nothing what the Gazans face. If HAMAS were running the West back with a similar dictatorship as in Gaza they'd been bombed to bits as well. Anyone who thinks HAMAS is a positive influence is nuts or a supporter of the islamic dictatorship in Iran.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,026 ✭✭✭✭Tell me how

How many times has Hamas killed civilians in the last 20 years?

    How many times has Israel?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,253 ✭✭✭Bishop of hope

Reading it again, I take the same sentiment as last night from it. Its comparing the deaths of children and the feelings about it. No misquote, miswriting maybe, but still comparing child death and feelings as tumbleweed.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,253 ✭✭✭Bishop of hope

Biased, f me, on this thread that's a joke question.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,783 ✭✭✭dmcdona

You are of course perfectly entitled to take your own interpretation of any post.

In this case however, I believe your interpretation is incorrect and in the minority.

Of course, do feel free to justify it and change my mind by pointing out all the posts from Israeli supporters who consistently express outrage at the deaths of Palestinian kids.

I can certainly quote many posts expressing outrage from Palestinian supporters concerning Israeli deaths - adults and children alike.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,253 ✭✭✭Bishop of hope

Of course you can. Shure all Palestinians and supporters are angels and all israeli supporters are the epitome of evil.

There's no tumbleweed in the midst of death and destruction or the voicing of opinions or feelings of it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,259 ✭✭✭RoyalCelt

You're ignoring my point. Argue in bad faith I'll leave you to your devices. I made the point the IDF is far superior but we've seen what HAMAS will do if given the chance. Their blood lust for killing Israeli civilians is something else. One of the most evil groups on the planet and no surprise considering they're an Iranian proxy.

Things are getting pretty desperate for the regime when even Emily Thornberry is (effectively) calling out Netanyahu as a war criminal and saying he should not have attacked Gaza this week:
