I'm not blaming the players, the academics should jave those players getting actual game time in the league

And a lot are never seen in the club scene again

When they are in the academy? Or what are your talking about?

Because academy players play AIL week in week out.

Just wondering is there many young lads in this team?

TH Luke Rigney was an U20 a few years ago. Any other late developing prospects?

Most are 24/25 at a minimum and all would give pro ranks a good go if had opportunity. Good few more have played irish 19s and 20s and or played pro already

2 senior cup finals this weekend.

Both Sunday. Munsters will see a new winner as old crescent face nenagh in thomond park

    IIn Connacht galwegians play sligo

    Interesting selection

3 Ballynahinch players in the backline seems pretty heavy.

Conor Rankin ex Ulster academy and Irish u20 also ex English Championship

Looking forward to this one later. I hope Nenagh can do it. Would be fantastic to see a Tipp club's name on the trophy

    Nenagh win 33-20

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 5,466 Mod ✭✭✭✭Lost Ormond

Sligo win connacht final with injury time try to beat wegians 24-22.

Yet again galwegiabs lost in injury time

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,302 ✭✭✭Stainalert

Fair enough but 1a is full of players with similar credentials. Personally I think it is odd you have 3 players from the same club in the backline particularly given Ballynahinch rank relatively low in 1a when you look at points scored.

Could come down to availability as well. Have to remember these lads have jobs and families and not everyone will be in a position to accept a call-up.

Agreed. I don't think it the best players in the league, just good players who are available.

Congrats! First half I felt was a little nervy from both sides but they came out in the second half and it felt like a different game. Enjoy the celebrations in Naynagh

PPenultimate round of games this weekend

In 1A terenure and ballynahinch can still push for playoff apot but hinchs points difference makes it very unlikely. Garryowen relegated. 2 points between armagh and ucd for playoff spot.

1B. Belvedere champions and promoted. nenagh 2nd and host blackrock, 3rd, this weekend. Win and theyre 2nd lose and goes to final weekend ucc 2 behind Wesley for final place in playoffs. Shannon 2 behind highfield and trinity at bottom.

2A instonians promoted as champions. Cashel and barnhall in playoffs. Corinthians have to play greystones who could catch them. Order still to be confirmed. Buccs relegated weeks ago navan point ahead of ballymena for playoff spot. Hard to call.

Wanderers should win 2B. Dungannon 7 behind so need a lot of luck to get automatic promotion. As expect the chaps to win peague dungannon will ve home in playoffs. Clogher valley will be third. 4th spot will be 1 of rainey, bohs or galwegians. Malahide relegated. Sligo in playoffs unless big shocks happen

2C easier to talk about bottom tullamore and omagh. 1 relegated. Other in playoff. League champions and playoff spots all up for grabs. Top6 all can get playoff spots still

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 5,466 Mod ✭✭✭✭Lost Ormond

1A semi finalists confirmed. Marys guaranteed to be at home other home spot to be decided next week. Armagh 2 ahead of ucd for playoff with 1B sides.

belvo promoted. Nenagh guaranteed 2nd. Wesley play rock in stradbrook next week to decide who travels to nenagh in playoffs. Ucc if they win overtake loser of wesley rock. At bottom shannon need 5 to avoid automatic relegation to 2A. Trinity and highfield level with trinity a better points difference to avoid playoffs

Instonians promoted. Cashel will play barnhall in promotion semis. Cashel are ahead by a point. 4th will be corinthians or greystones who are level with stones points difference better by 15. At bottom navan 3 points behind ballymena to qvoid relegation playoffs.

Wanderers won 2B so dungannon confirmed as home in playoffs. Clogher valley in 3rd 4 ahead of bohs with far better points difference so should be ok. Wegians and rainey can catch bohs. At bottom sligo 4 behind skerries so must win to avoid playoffs as they hope to avoid joining malahide in 2C.

Midleton lead enniscorthy by 2. Theyre top 2. Dolphin 3rd 1 ahead of ballyclare and monkstown 2 further back for playoff spots. Tullamore 4 behind omagh at bottom. 1 will be relegated to junior. Other in playoff

Good recognition for a very strong year for belvedere.

Round robin final on in cill dara this afternoon.

Am heading to it. Bective v thomond. Too hard to call.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 5,466 Mod ✭✭✭✭Lost Ormond

Bective back senior 39-34 win. They did all damage in first half hour through mix of nervy start by thomond and sheet power.

33-3 after half an hour. 33-17 half time.

Thomond now play omagh in playoff for final 2C spot

Terenure advertising for a new head coach on social media, but surprised at that.
