Queens playing Exeter Uni in a ‘BUCS seeding fixture’ in March with a view to joining the BUCS structure. Does anyone know if this will be Queens exiting AIL or will it be a 2s team playing BUCS?

Were you at the game? I see Jarrad Butler was playing for Wegians. Good to see them turn it around after a poor start to the season.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 4,965 Mod ✭✭✭✭Lost Ormond

Yeah saw some of game. They played like they had for most of season except finished strong unlike most games when they switched off/let opposition taie the win

Pretty poor game between Belvo and Wesley today, weather was bad for the majority of it but Belvo just about won it 13-10. Bad miss by the Wesley 10 in front of the posts around 35 yards out to make it 13-13 with 10 minutes to play.

Belvo 11 points clear of Nenagh with 4 games to go and they play each other next game week. Any kind of win and it will be fairly certain Belvo are promoted.

Buccs not having a great time of it. Looks like the slide down the leagues will continue.

Fully beaten by Old Crescent. Automatic relegation to 2B looks inevitable.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 4,965 Mod ✭✭✭✭Lost Ormond

Theyve been trying to play spme younger players but just struggling with everything this aeason. Theres no question theyre automatically relegated to 2B just when itll be matimatically confirmed is tbd…

great game. Lot of good scores. Nice crowd. Plenty of niggle in game as well. Guaranteed a new name on cup as well which is a good thing. Nenagh lukely favourities but who knows ..

Big weekend of league games this weekend

Could See belvedere win the 1B title as they face only side who can catch them. Nenagh.

Terenure clontarf will be a cracker in 1A.

Greystones Barnhall tie of weekend in 2A where 4 sides fighting for 3 promotion places as instonians 12 clear at top and should win title next weekend

A BP win for Belvo and denying Nenagh any match points will see them promoted this Saturday.

Nenagh have gotten 8 TBPs this season so far so I think smart money would be on them getting at least that again this weekend.

But it's the wild west of 1B Rugby. Anything can happen!

Hoping to get to this if work finishes early enough on saturday. And really its anything other than a 4-0 4-1 or 5-0 result in nenaghs favour wins the league for belvo.

Will be huge crowd at this. Nenagh had good win over cookies in senior cup last weekend to prep for this. So big few weekends for nenagh coming

I wont make it unfortunately which is a massive shame. One of the bigger games in Belvo in recent years for sure. You wont get parking in Belvo for this I reckon but there's plenty of on street parking around.

Belvo likely missing some of thier very impressive U20s contingency for this including Wisniewski. While he hasn't set the world alight in the U20s 6N he's been absolutely excellent for Belvo this year. Andre Ryan may feature however.

Belvo managed to weather a worrying injury crisis in the pack and hopefully are on the other side of it. A few key players should be back fighting fit.

I know belvo well. Wont be going near anglesea road to park anyway. Yeah a huge game. Big crowd expected up from tipp. 20s missing could be some help for nenagh. Think nenagh hace a few injuries in pack as well. Will be interesting to see teams named.

Belvo with a deserved win and promoted to 1A. First time seeing Nenagh play. Their 10 and wing were both excellent, their wing in particular was probably most dangerous player on the pitch, strong and quick.

Very close for semi spots in 1A with 6 still in contention for semis

Garryowen relegated and playoff will be armagh ot ucd.

Belvedere champions of 1B after deserved win over only side who could catch them. Nenagh. Nenagh are 7 clear of 3rd and 8 of 4th. As wesley and blackrock also lost today without a bonus point. Shannon 4 behind highfield and 8 behind trinity. Shannon likely to be relegated or in playoff. Trinity could be caught by highfield

Instonians only need 4 points to win 2A. Very close for 3 playoff spots. Cashel on 55, barnhall 54, corinthians 53 and greystones 52. At other end. Navan and ballymena level on 24 fightinf to avoid relegation playoff with buccs already down

Wanderers 6 clear of only side who could catch them dungannon. Wholl def finish 2nd. Clogher valley in 3rd should make playoffs 4th could be one of 3 clubs. At bottom malahide relegated bar a big surprise and sligo in relegation playoffs

Midleton 6 clear from enniscorthy at top of 2C. 7 points separate 2nd to 7th so plenty of chances for the 3 playoff spots. Tullamore 2 points behind omagh who are 6 off bruff in racw to avoid drop to junior.

Things getting very tight in 1A at both ends of the table

Review: The constant stripping of young talent into (sub) academies, with extremely limited return to clubs, diminishes the strength of the league and stifles the development pathways of non-identified talent. It also weakens the league as a product for a paying public

    IRFU: All fine so

TheTheres so much more to look at and the players who desire pro careers see sub academy and involvement with those etc as nevessary if they eant to transition to rugby as a gull time career
