So you don’t have any evidence of your third-hand story, as I thought. But you want evidence from everyone who doesn’t sign up to your denial of McTapper raping someone.

Absolutely cringe watching him talk with his fake accent, incoherently, twitching.

    A national embarrassment.

Was his rape trial mentioned? That should be called out at every public event he's at for the rest of his life. That's what defines him now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,943 ✭✭✭ronjo

i did find it quite amusing when he was askek a) about Irish immigrants in America and b) Trade wars currently happening he just stared blankly into space as if they were speaking to him in mandarin.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,199 ✭✭✭eightieschewbaccy

He randomly said the word "exam" and then got distracted....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,092 ✭✭✭Dr Robert

Yeah, it's like he only had his little soundbite to get accross and anything else threw him.

Tbf, I wouldn't expect him to be able to to handle trade deal questions. But, he's up there talking about immigrants so he could at least be able to counter that one.

It just show how farcical it is. McGregor didn't comes across well at all. A jittery mess.

Jittery? Hmmm, I wonder what could be causing that….

Mod: Please use the appropriate thread to discuss immigration and Ireland. A number of posts deleted.

I suspect that references to rape, indecent assault or pussy grabbing are strictly forbidden in Trump's White House. Not that any of the carefully handpicked churnalists who are allowed in would have the backbone to mention them.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,363 ✭✭✭prunudo

The same people, politicians and media hating on McGregor while they ignore the substance of what he said, are the same that put all their eggs in the Democrat basket and failed to listen to differing views. Then when Trump got in, they're shocked and claim people are stupid or ill informed.

Ignore what he says at your peril, because despite him being a scumbag and a bad role model, I would not be surprised to see him do well if he runs for president.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24,048 ✭✭✭✭mickdw

He will get the idiot vote and followers vote which is pretty much the same thing. I could see him getting 10 percent or so in a 4 or 5 horse race.

I'd imagine if he did run, there would be scandal after scandal appearing to the point that it would be a farce.

Again, he has to get nominated first - and who's going to nominate him, fresh out of the High Court with a sexual assault judgement against him? Not to mention all the social media harakiri posts in the aftermath?

Nobody would put their political credibility on the line by backing a loose cannon like that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,363 ✭✭✭prunudo

You've just proved my point, calling people who vote differently, idiots, is the same thing the Democrats did.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,429 ✭✭✭h2005

Anyone who votes for a rapist is either an idiot or worse, a person devoid of any moral compass.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,199 ✭✭✭eightieschewbaccy

Calling voting for a coked out of his head rapist "an idiot vote" is a pretty mild descriptor.. I'd also suspect most Irish people would agree with that sentiment.

You're right. 'Idiot' implies they don't really know what they're getting.

Anyone who votes for a rapist knows exactly what they are, and should be treated with the utter contempt they treat the women of Ireland by wanting to vote for a rat like him.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,363 ✭✭✭prunudo

Considering a large portion of the country seems to be coked up every weekend, don't think it's the enough to put people off the man. Equally, he wasn't found criminally guilty in a court of law. It was a civil case, which he is appealing.

The big fear with McGregor for me currently is that he is a distraction, and means our politicians are asked about him, and not their failings or other issues in the country.

Doesn't matter. Conor McGregor is a rapist and anyone who votes for him should be considered a rat and scumbag who gives no f*cks about the women of this country.

Also, he won't get nominated. He needs four councils or 20 oireachtas members. The latter is completely out of the question and the former is mostly dominated by FF and FG.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,199 ✭✭✭eightieschewbaccy

Most of the country aren't rapists... Most people have concluded that he's very much so guilty of it. It's also not the first incident of him being accused of rape, in the other cases they were intimidated out of pursuing a case...

    I'm partial to your abracadabra
I'm raptured by the joy of it all

Play the post, not the player. I can't stand McGregor, never liked him even when he was doing well and everyone thought the sun shone out his backside. But I also appreciate people have different views, and I wouldn't call them idiots because of that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,199 ✭✭✭eightieschewbaccy

Nah, you're trying to downplay the fact he's a sexual predator. Anyone who votes for a rapist should take a hard look at themselves. It's pretty reasonable that posters would have an issue with such people.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,589 ✭✭✭Rocket_GD

If you hate him then why play down the fact that he is a rapist? By stating that he wasn't found guilty in a criminal trial and that he is appealing the fact that he was found liable for sexual assaulting a woman, you are very much down playing the fact that he is a rapist.

Anyone with any sense would be an idiot to vote for someone who was proven to have raped a woman.

He won't be nominated so no one will have the chance to vote for the scumbag.

Conor McGregor aka The Notorious is a filthy lowlife ….. a violent thug, an abuser, and now a far right agitator chummy with some of the world's most notorious (forgive the pun!!) leaders especially that thing he met in Washington yesterday ….. McGregor does not speak for the Irish people and he should not have the status he has …. he is important in MMA but should not be important outside of that ……

It may have been AI generated content I spotted the other day but it was Joe Rogan criticising McGregor. Rogan/AI making the point that getting punched in the head a thousand times a year isn’t normal, ‘is it any wonder so many fighters turn to drugs?’

Wondering now if opting for a jury trial originally was a tactic too? It gives him a reason for an appeal which you may not have if he hadn’t gone for a jury trial. The outcome will ultimately be the same but it allows him to drag it out and cast doubt on the verdict for longer.

Real kick in the teeth for us that he was in the Oval Office yesterday while our politicians had to turn up a week early. But I suppose we have to adjust to the old norms being completely gone sooner rather than later

This is water. Inspiring speech by David Foster Wallace https://youtu.be/DCbGM4mqEVw?si=GS5uDvegp6Er1EOG

McGregor asked some questions and started shittin on about metrics, the only "metrics" he understands is 1 gram or 2 gram of cocaine up his nose…!

And he employs 200 people the Taoiseach employs none apparently, other than the 300,000 he as the Government of Ireland employs I suppose…
