    Hi all

Would like to hear some people's experience with becoming a qfa.

Were the exams tough? What salary did you attain after completion?

It’s a joke. Completely ridiculous qualification, It’s a bit like the ECDL for computers.

Exams extremely simple, multiple choice. It's a very entry level qualification, 6 exams but it does open up a lot of doors to be fair to it. I was finishing and passing the 2 hour exams in under 30 mins, exams extremely repetitive if you do enough of them, passing them was a tick the box exercise and then walk out.

There's follow on exams you can do like RPA retirement planning advisor or CFP certified financial planner which are much more in depth.

I did CIMA accounting exams years before QFA and CFP exams just after, different ball game altogether, have to really work at those.

As for what you do and how much you earn after QFA, that's up to you. You could become a credit union teller or you could become a sales person, mortgage advisor, car finance business manager in a dealership, life insurance, go into pensions and investments its a stepping stone to a lot of jobs, pay rates aren't fixed at all and vary wildly, its up to you, but they'll all need you to do QFA.
