Yep can't fault the voucher route, been using turgame to get the vouchers for over a year and its been flawless and simple to use - just remember to top-up but even then when I did forget, Netflix kindly added a message on my TV to remind me that my credit was expiring in 5 days and to top up, very good of them 😀

I am on the std plan and that is going to €17pm here, it works out around €4.70pm via Turkey using the vouchers.

Just wondering on the below….. am I joining the Standard or the Premium ?? If the Premium…. with the 900 TL get me 3 months of same?? or will it just get a Basic package??? Many thanks!! About to take the plunge!

"……….Got Netflix working with Turkish gift cards tonight following a few guides listed in this thread.

    1. Setup a new Irish account last month. Added payment method of Revolut vitual card. Added a second virtual card as a backup payment method. Both are for exclusive use of Netflix so if they get canned no hassle.
    2. Paid in full for 1 month Premium @ €20.99…."

If you followed my instructions it would obviously be premium and yes it will be for 3 months. But you can choose any plan at setup at the price you want (see my post above). This will keep rolling over unless you change it. Pricing is:

    • Basic = 149 TL/m
    • Standard = 229 TL/m
    • Premium = 299 TL/m

You can upgrade or downgrade plan at any time.

I did 3 months initially as it was an amount I was willing to lose if my account got nuked.

My credit was due to run out next week, so I decided to purchase 6 months premium @ 1800TL. All depends on how much your risk your comfortable with.

Two 900 TL giftcards on Turgame cost me €50.77 or €8.46/month.

No need for active VPN when adding giftcard to your NF account.

I have only been able add the giftcard using a Turkish VPN. I don't need a VPN for purchasing the voucher from Turgame

Addd a Turkish gift card tonight there, couldn't get on to the Netflix site whilst using a VPN so ended up adding it without a VPN, went through no bother.

    Dear Netflix,

Don't pee down my back and tell me it's raining.

    Regards,

So do I have to open a new account now or just add Turkish vouchers to this Irish account? No chance I'll be paying €17 a month.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,841 ✭✭✭wassie

Use existing account - cancel it now and wait for current sub to expire (you can keep watching until renewal date).

Then follow my guide from Step 3 here - also take note of some of the comments above.

I was able to set up a brand new turkish netflix account for a mate yesterday, I had tried new accounts in the past without any success, but it worked yesterday. I used Surfshark VPN and 300tl (€8.53) giftcard from turgame account is working perfect for him. I will get him to add another 900tl giftcard later this month, and hopefully he should be all good again then.

In relation to the geolock, he does seem to be geolocked alright, he has his own surfshark account and when he sets that to Turkey, its playing away fine, hopefully that geolock gets removed after the first month.

    edit: corrected tl amount

Just for others to note, 900TL doesn't equal €8.53; its closer to €25, but will get you 3mths on HD family plan (currently 300TL p/mth) so approx 1/3 of what you'd be paying for an IE sub.

Well pointed out, that was a typo, that should had said 300tl

I've reactivated my Turkish account due to much earache from the wife re: her viewing history 🤷‍♂️

We used Simkl to scrobble our viewing and have "watch next" and viewing recommendations all set up but for herself, the convenience of Netflix still holds sway.

The account is frolicked for 30days but sure that's easy sorted 😉

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 1,451 ✭✭✭webpal

do you have to use it during those 30 days or can you wait?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,650 ✭✭✭✭banie01

No idea tbh, I just set up a VPN rule for my router to point netflix traffic to Turkey or use a VPN on my mobile.

Wanted to give turgame gift cards a try only to find out Netflix has deleted my account. (Didn’t realise they delete accounts 10 month after cancellations- they kicked my Indian sub last year.) I guess I have no way around setting up new Irish account (to avoid geo locking elsewhere) and pay 1 month basic sub before then trying the gift cards for premium Turkish sub.

Got it to work using windscribe. Couldn't get it to work with NordVPN at all. Thanks everyone.

Do you have any other old expired Netflix accounts at all? When my main Turkish Netflix account was cancelled (due to not re-adding Turgame vouchers for a few months) I was able to re-activate an old Irish account with a Turkish sub without having to do a month in Euros first. I’m not sure if this generally works or I was just lucky with that one, but worth a shot. Also depends on whether you’re bothered about keeping your profiles / viewing history on your main account though.

Quick question if anyone can help - can I ask which app / service any of you have had success with for a one-time use international number when setting up your Netflix accounts? It’s not actually for Netflix that it’s needed this time (sister is hoping to buy a couple of concert tickets on Ticetmaster this Thursday for her daughter, but the concert is in Canada and she’s in North Ireland). TM support have told her that she may need to get access to a Canadian number for verification purposes during the checkout process. I know some of you have had success in using these for Netflix, any recommendations would be great. Thanks

I've seen pingme.tel recommended a lot in other forums. Haven't used it myself and no idea on cost. Should be reliable enough though with a Canadian number.

Great, thank you for that info. I will have a look into pingme

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 990 ✭✭✭whosedaddy?

hi. No. The cancelled one was my main account. Trying to log in with the associated email I get error that no account for my email exists. (Same trying to reset password)

just went the gift card route and getting message that account cant be watched in your location,

Am i doing something wrong or do i need to use a vpn?

If vpn, what is cheapest for a month?

    TIA

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,820 ✭✭✭Sir Osis of Liver.

A friend set his up but is getting "E114 your account cant be used in this location" when he goes to play anything without VPN.

    Payment was through the Giftcards.

Works fine if his VPN is set to Turkey.

    Any ideas lads?

Im the same. I heard that you can get geo-locked for a month. I'm hoping this is the case. I mean, if I was a Turkish citizen and told I can't use my Netflix when on holiday, I'd be a bit miffed.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,325 ✭✭✭ablelocks

just added 1000tl (€26.81) turgame voucher to my account - no hassle at all. should see me to July 10th for the premium plan

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,781 ✭✭✭Flaneur OBrien

There was an error displaying this embed.

Are you able to watch without a VPN?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,325 ✭✭✭ablelocks

yep, just checked it there. (and no vpn needed to load the voucher code)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,321 ✭✭✭mel123

is anyone else who is using vouchers, Netflix paused membership and asking you to add a payment method? Not sure what to do if anyone can offer advice or is this the end again?
