I found the cinemata addon and another Netflix catalog addon works well in stremio. Anything new is usually there straight away. Assuming you've a debrid service

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,635 ✭✭✭✭banie01

Yeah, I use Cinemeta & RD and I have a couple of other catalogue integrations that work brilliantly, "for me".

But, she was looking for something last week that was released on its streamer platform and was listed on Stremio, but alas, wasn't immediately watchable 🤦 it's a problem.

Patience is a virtue that our instant gratification streamers have destroyed 😉

So just to update on this. I attempted to restart my Turkish subscription using VPN but Netflix wouldn’t allow me to log me in to do this while on VPN. I gave up on this account and decided to try re-activating a very old Irish Netflix account that I haven’t used in years. I was able to reactivate this as a Turkish sub using Proton VPN and Turgame voucher. However, I am now getting an error message when trying to watch Netflix on my Android tablet Netflix app - “Your account can’t be used on this device”. It’s just happening on my tablet, my iPhone app is streaming fine. Am I being geo locked on the android app?

I set up a friend not so long ago in the UK it looks like the account is geolocked for a month then it will "let you travel".

She used the account with a vpn on set to turkey then, sure enough a month after the account started working.

I suggest you wait if out a month, use it with a vpn then try with no VPN, it should work

Thanks for this prompt - had a go myself after a good few months without bothering with netflix since my turkish account died, and couldnt be bothered with all the giftcard faffing. My VPN didnt have colombia, but it did have Chile so just chanced it, €11ish for the top tier, and like you described just signed up as normal, revolut accepted first go and no phone number needed. Playing away fine without vpn for half an hour or so.

Almost too easy, like the old days?!

Just tried this unfortunately they want me a verification text to a mobile with a Chile no

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 857 ✭✭✭setanta1984

I was shown that step in the creation process too, but I was able to leave it blank and skip it without issue? Did you get an error when trying to proceed with it blank?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,635 ✭✭✭✭banie01

As Setanta1984 says that can be left blank. I know in my case I was asked to provide a Colombian number to help with password recovery, it wasn't mandatory and I skipped past it and my account is up and running.

    cheers, all sorted now

Thanks for this. I was actually in Northern Ireland for the weekend when I set up the new subscription (I didn’t think being in Northern Ireland rather than the republic would have been an issue as I’ve never had trouble watching there). I tried again this morning when I got home and it’s now working fine on both tablet and phone😅. Interesting that the new subscription seemed to be geo locked while in UK territory though.

there's no faffing with giftcards though? no vpn required, buy gift card(s) on turgame, get code, enter code on netflix. takes a couple of minutes (sometimes codes take an hour or so to be delivered).

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 857 ✭✭✭setanta1984

you say there is no faffing, before immediately describing said faffing :D

Takes zero minutes when payment is just taken from your card with zero manual intervention. I'm not dismissing the giftcard method at all, just saying I'm not interested in netflix enough to be bothered with it.

It's interesting to see that the old school method of just VPN to another country and add payment method still seems to work for some countries, I was under the impression it was all locked down completely now.

Turkish Turgame giftcard method is still working for me since March (touch wood). Works out at about €7.00 or so per month it's well worth it at that price rather than playing the roulette of Netflix nuking a new account with a card payment method that will flag on their systems to save a euro or two

    Wassie's method worked for me.

Just to be cautious I will wait 12+ hours before I login to Irish Netflix. Might help prevent geo locking.

Which one? I scrolled up the page and didn’t see a username Wassie? Sister wants an account for Xmas so have to set her up

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 778 ✭✭✭Terminator

@Mel123, It's post No #6757, it may be on the previous page depending on your device.

Everything working great here though it did take a couple of hours for the Turgame voucher to be delivered. Will re-up in the New Year for a longer period now I know it works for me

    Can't figure it out.

Turned on VPN (nord vpn premium), set to Colombia.

    Open incognito mode, go to

    https://www.netflix.com/co-en/

Go through create account, verify account, back to Netflix to select plan,

It redirects to netflix.com with American prices. ($22.99 for highest tier)

    Where am I going wrong?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 173 ✭✭blink44

Through ALOT of trial and error iv managed to sign up for Netflix via Chile using expressvpn and Revolut

However now getting "something went wrong" error every time I try sign in on web browser and app

At first I thought I had instantly forgotten my password, it wouldn't let me reset password giving the same error message, eventually clicked "forgot email and password" and got the reset email. now after resetting and getting back in once I sign out I get the "something went wrong" error again

    Any ideas??

I believe new accounts are geolocation locked for first 30 days so you need to use VPN to use Netflix Chile.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 173 ✭✭blink44

yeah I have vpn on but can't sign in on my device or website

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 173 ✭✭blink44

for context when I try reset password I get an error message, if I click forgot email and password I get a reset password link and can then change password and am redirected and signed in on my browser. however once I go back and try sign in on the app or another browser I'm back to square one with the error messages. have tried with expressvpn both on and off

Currently have a turkish family account , with family members

My brother in law is now getting an error message saying the TV he is using isn't in the household

I assume I'm travelling button will only be a temp fix for this , is there anyway around it ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,635 ✭✭✭✭banie01

Watching via a VPN set to Turkey might mitigate it. Most VPN's are eventually recognised though so it's not a long term fix.

There a consensus on what works at the moment?

Had turkey going until last summer.

I am going to turkey later in the year
