Hi all, I am looking for information on where I might find the names of those who bought landed estates or just land in Ireland from 1850 1880. These parcels of land were sold by the Courts for Incumbered Estates Ireland. I would appreciate some help. Thank you.

Moved from Researcher forum. This may be a better fit for your question

You can check the Registry of Deeds Memorials to see who purchased lands; The Memorials are microfilmed on the FamilySearch Website at https://www.familysearch.org/search/catalog/185720

To find a specific location, you can check the Placenames index & then go find the actual Memorial using the Record Number - the post 1832 Volumes will be numbered: Year Volume No - e.g. 186 Vol 8 No 121.

Family search has introduced a full text search facility which provides OCR transcriptions - which might be worth checking out https://www.familysearch.org/search/full-text/collection/M9J1-ZYL

Also the Irish Genealogical Research Society (IGRS) has been indexing the memorials, so it might be worth checking out the website, using the place name as a search term https://irishdeedsindex.net/search/index.php

I found results of sales in Allnut's Irish Land Schedule and the Dublin Evening Packet and Correspondent which can be searched on Find My Past and the British Newspaper Archive.

You could also cross-reference the landowners of 1 acre and upwards against who owned in the Landed Estates sale brochure. Check it on www.failteromhat.com
