Oh sorry thought you meant to the Irish players by bad. That O'Donough crap

One thing I will say, is that the forwards were decent in the first half, the teams looked well matched and we were edging it. But you can't go down to 14 men and defend against a team as powerful as France and not end up getting overpowered as the game goes on. The cards really took a toll. Had Gardner carded them in the first half for the repeated cynical penalties in their 22, things might have stayed more evenly matched, but not to be.

Must be a while since we conceded 100 points in a championship

Ya that sums it up. Some will say it's sour grapes and always complaining about the ref but he was very poor overall I thought. France were definitely deserving winners though fair play to them I hope they finish it off next week. But for a terrible mess up against England they should be going for a slam

He's only in the firing line from weird Internet trolls who love ragging on a 22 year old.

Most sensible people including most in the media will recognise when he doesn't play well but don't lose their marbles over it.

Has anyone heard from Ruadhrai O’Connor of the Indo? Hope he’s doing ok xx

It's ok , we are trying a new system where we don't care about missing tackles, lol

he shouldn't have been there in the first place.

Utter bullshit. We dominated possession but created little because of said players.

Stop with the child abuser angle. He is a player on the national team. Doesn't matter a fuk that he is 22.

He has had 1 good game all 6N and the warning signs for today were evident since the England game.

Was very lucky not to be in the bin today. His teammate who also obstructed saved him.

There was just absolutely no need to bring him from "zero" to starter like this. It was a gamble and deserves to be called out.

I'm much more disappointed with VDF and McCarthy than Prendergast. Nash was very poor but in fairness he was told he was playing 20 minutes beforehand, wasn't even expecting to come off the bench and suddenly has to start.

The kick at half time a very good kick, but lord i feel the commentator was gonna need to clean himself at half time over it

It's almost like holding tackle bags does not prepare you for doing anything other than holding tackle bags..

This board is a waste of time. Pile of pissed off Munster fans piling onto Prendergast.

Peak Sexton and or Rog would have done nothing today.

We got absolutely bullied off the park by a massive and brilliant pack and their 7:1 strategy worked. Reality is we had some fairly average and or old forwards in our 14 forwards. Bealham, Herring, Healy, Clarkson nothing personal but right now not at the level to compete with the 15 French monsters on the pitch today. Our pack hung in there first half largely due to great games from Doris, POM and Joe (bar the brain dead penalty) but in essence that is where France were totally and utterly dominate today. Prendergast made mistakes but did lots of good stuff too, Crowley would have made zero difference.

And for the record Nash was poor today but blaming him for the loss is daft too.....forwards all day bullied by a brilliant pile of 15 French forwards.....Lowe may have helped but would not have changed anything.

Completely agree we got badly exposed today, wings, out half, 2nd and 3rd rows bar Doris were all poor. Special mentions for McCarthy who seems to be believing his own hype rather than living up to it, SP who let's face it looked like a rabbit caught in headlights today, and Nash who is just not up to this level, several defensive errors before the YC which was a carbon copy of when he knocked himself out in a high tackle last year.

Maybe I’m one of the few but I feel Ireland were hard done by. There is a history there. I’ll say no more on that.

Fair play to France they capitalised on the lack of cutting edge by Ireland in the first 20min.

Terribly disappointing for the players esp POM and co.

This game just highlighted how important Lowe, Hansen and Ringrose are to Ireland.
It was a Massive ask of Osborne. I hope both Leinster and Ireland stop moving this young guy all over the pitch. He is a centre. A 12 more specifically (Who can cover FB).

good to see them keep Prendergast on, maybe they are finally looking at the bigger picture and looking to the World Cup, six nations/ grand slams been there , done that.

Yerra that's Hugh Cahill. Always losing the run of himself for relatively mundane stuff.

I think the loss of Dupont galvanised the French. It can't be easy being part of a team that revolves completely around one player. They had to prove they aren't a one trick pony. Not converting any of the early pressure and territory and that absolutely ridiculous brainfart by McCarthy was key.

The lack of support by the so called rugby fans at the Aviva is a national embarrassment.

You must be kidding, he was shocking today

If we are being honest here, it looks like this team has peaked.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25,075 ✭✭✭✭lawred2

    Very strange performance.

I don't think prendergast has a clear idea what he's going to do with the ball at any stage. And it leads to confusion outside and around him

This taking it to line looks more like dithering than forcing tacklers to bite.

The entire kicking game from hand was poor overall. Very little purpose or method to it.

Hardly had a sniff at the breakdown. France were exceptional.

Are Ireland the most 'held up' team in the six nations?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25,075 ✭✭✭✭lawred2

Maybe. Still won a triple crown even if maybe not in a wholly convincing manner.

Ive called out the prawn sandwichers many times on these threads before and have been slated for it....

The French fans were magnificent today and brought a proper atmosphere to the stadium...

prendergast was poor today but so were many others. We were well beaten.

our starting forwards were well outplayed and the bench made no difference.
But the biggest concern for me is that at positions 6 to 10 we were very very poor in both defence and attack, as bad as the 2019 WC QF.
when that happens you are on for a hammering.

prendergast should start against Italy , if he is considered the future by the management it would be wrong to drop him now.

    It's a corporate's day out. That's long established.

The last place you'll find tickets these days is at an affiliated rugby club.
