Door Handle Loose - Name of Replacement?

Good Evening All,

My door handle (picture below) is very loose, to the point where it's inevitably going to break in the near future.

I want to get ahead of this and replace it before it gets to that point, but I'm just wondering if someone can please tell me what "type" of door handle I have so I know which one to purchase.

I've watched a few YouTube videos and the actual replacement seems okay even for a desperately poor DIY'er like myself, but there are some many varieties of door handle that I'm a bit lost!

Are these handles the same as "UPVC" handles? They look very similar to me but I have no doubt I'm probably miles off!

The handle itself.

You need to push it up to lock/unlock and when doing so it is becoming increasingly unstable.

I believe it's the original handle so would have been there for around 20 years now so I suspect is probably getting to end of life.

I don't know anything about doors. But had a door before very like that that I thought loose/jiggly handle was the problem. But it was the barrel or lock or a combination of everything. Simple handle replacement wasn't the fix.

That looks like the first of the upvc handles and when you say the handle is getting loose that's just how they go as they were purely just pressed and flanged into the flat base of the handle. The newer ones are designed better and more secure. I've used that company @10-10-20 posted the link of and found their handles to be very good quality. Fitting is very straightforward just changing the screws. New ones provided with new handle

They are extremely easy to replace.

You want to measure the dimensions and order a matching one. A and B are your most important dimensions. For Dimension C you could get one a bit larger, but if it is smaller then you'll see the outline of the old handle once installed.

Just get a good accurate measurement and you're good to go, order on line and then swap it out. Easy peasy

I've identified the below handle from doing some research based on your posts/advice:

Assuming the above meets the measurements (I've measured PZ to be 92mm and the Screw Centre to be 211mm), would this suffice? It looks like-for-like but we'd prefer the chrome colour as opposed to the current brass colour.
