I wonder how long it'll be before this gets memory holed?

For years it felt like a project that very few Trekkies even wanted, despite Kurtzman's obsession with doing it. Finally it gets made as a Made-for-TV Movie, and it pretty much bombs.

I haven't watched it…and much like later Discovery seasons…I might never be bothered to watch it. I somewhat wonder how many others feel the same. Could this show ultimatly gather dust as a footnote in the Memory Alpha wiki, hated by some and forgotten by damn near everyone else?

I watched it and literally forgot it existed until this thread popped up again just now.

I can't belive I just watched the rest if it. It is so so bad and not in a good way.

There is absolutely nothing Star Trek about it. I say we start a petition to get Star Trek de-named from it and they can then sell it as some generic z list **** sci-fi film. Absolutely Rubbish it is.

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.

As I said previously, I cancelled my subscription. It wasn't only because of this abomination. I'm not THAT petty or precious about Trek. It was more to do with the (few) shows I watched on it were either finishing or appearing on TV. Trek was a draw, certainly. My existing subscription will get me through next season of Strange New Worlds. Lower Decks is finished (Boo). Discovery is finished (Yay). No interest in Trek Academy. Everything else on Paramount+ that I want is on TV.

So I cancelled and stated why. Poor quality shows (I specifically called out S31). They won't miss me and I won't miss them.

I pirated this and sadly, unlike most of you I didn't have the sense to turn it off mid-way through. Tbf, I was browsing social media on my phone for the majority of it.

Dire. And in no way did it feel anything like Star Trek.

I have watched some pretty awful movies and shows in my lifetime. Stupidly, almost all I started I have seen through to completion. This show will be one of the few I don't complete. Interestingly, it is the first I have actively turned off and not went back too. It may in fact be the worst bit of TV ever created.

Tried watching it again. Once that accent started, just…nope. I cannot get passed it. I hold out very little hope for Starfleet Academy

    Jonathan Frakes :

Longtime Star Trek director Jonathan Frakes gave fans a Starfleet Academy update at the recent Indiana Comic Convention, and he also took the opportunity to clear the air on the upcoming show’s target demographic. Per the Sci-Fi & Fantasy Gazette, Frakes was asked about the show’s target audience during the Star Trek panel at the event, and he gave an unexpected response. "Oh it's much more hardcore Star Trek fans," Frakes responded. "It's, you know, it happens to be [at] Starfleet Academy, there are young people in it, but the movie stars run the— it's a show about…" That’s as far as Frakes got before he was cut off by fellow Star Trek: The Next Generation star Denise Crosby, who filled in the thought with "Movie stars in space" in a bid to stop Frakes from spoiling too much. Following the incident that saw Frakes accidentally give away a major plot point for Star Trek: Discovery ahead of its premiere, Crosby probably didn’t want to risk it.
