There is no issue with it running at night. There will be no sound from inside the house. Even outside beside it, the noise is very low, barely audible.

I find that cutting during the night there is usually heavy dew or the grass will not be dry for cutting so there is more build up of cut grass sticking to the underneath part of the mower. Another reason is that incase the mower gets stuck or straddled on something I prefer rescue it during the day, rather than get an alert on my phone at 1AM.

To each their own I guess but do what whatever suits you. Much of a muchness.

Sound. I'll probably leave it do it's thing during the day. I'm sure the little one will leave it alone 😅

They are very safe and are or little risk with the young ones. My kids never had issues despite being inquisitive and playing around it etc... it's a novelty act for any friends visiting but they soon get bored of it.

Looking for recommendations as I'm new to this world. We have a long narrow lawn, approx. 100*20m (2000sqm). I rang a local supplier who recommended two options. Segway Navimow H3000E-VF & Husqvarna Automower® 430X NERA. The segway is considerably cheaper. Anyone recommend alternatives to these? Or opinions on the Segway and is it a good mower.

Anybody got a faulty parkside robot mower they want to sell? Looking for a swivel wheel or will take the whole thing!

Looking for recommendation of a mower that might suit.

We're on a very elevated site aprox 1.5 acres. Not sure on the exact coverage for the grass.

There's 3 "levels" that the mower would need to traverse is not really suitable for using a wire would need to be gps mapped i think. My main concern is the elevation.

    Any machines that might work?

There's 3 "levels" that the mower would need to traverse is not really suitable for using a wire would need to be gps mapped i think.

    Why do you say that?

The most reliable method of traversing any lawn is a wired install. Its just a pain to initially lay the wire down but thats a one off job and it will be reliable from there on, assuming you've done it right.

My main concern is the elevation.

When you say elevation do you really mean the slope in the lawn?

If its the slope, each mower has a max angle it can handle. You'll need to measure your slope and compare against the spec of the various machines. The Husqvarna's can handle 35°.

The size and each level is a bit awkward (layout wise). I figured a GPS/mapped version would be a lot easier.

The elevation of the slope yep. I'll see if I can get a measure on the highest point

Luba 2 is probably the only mower that can handle elevations without getting stuck due to its RC car 4 wheel design.

Hi, looking at options for a robot mower. Have about 400m squared to back/side of house and 200m squared to the front. Is it possible to have just one charging station at the back/side and place it at the front for one day a week? Or would it need to recharge numerous times?

Hi, Can I ask how people are getting on with their Husqvarna 305 mowers? I've just bought one for my back garden. It's 480m2.

We have an Ambrogio L20 Elite in the front garden but he can't get around to the back unfortunately.

If I decide to purchase one of these mowers can I do the initial set up myself or do I need to get someone from the company to do it for me?

What is people's experience of Mammotion and their products? Good aftercare? I see they're releasing a Yuka Mini this year with 6aH battery.

I left my Husky 315X in for a service, and was told that the com board wasn't working and needs replacing, at a cost of €300. Is there any way I can manage my mower without using the app, i.e, manually set the mowing times, at least until I can scrape the money together? Thanks in advance.

It's the bally ballyness of it that makes it all seem so bally bally.

Automower vs dog poo…..is it a case of you can find the poo's easily so just do the rounds with a shovel or will the robot get there first and then the situation becomes dire.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 776 ✭✭✭WildWater

Best approach is to go round with a shovel and it's what I do. However, due to say scheduling a cut when you are not at home, that might not always be possible. It won't bother the mower (well assuming your mutt isn't the size of a small horse). However, some will stick to the wheels etc so beware when cleaning and the remainder will get squished onto the surface, which isn't exactly ideal. Thus, as said, best approach is scoop the poop if possible.

How did you communicate with your mower?

A quick search says it can have a SIM card for sending commands which uses 3G service. 3G was retired or turned off by majority of operators by end of last year.

Were you able to use it without the functioning Comms board before the service? If so, you should still be able to still do it.

As far as I know the Comms board looks after both Bluetooth and mobile connection to the cloud, so you will only be able to control it from the actual mower and won't get any messages to your phone.

I have a 315 and all the settings can be changed using the keypad on the mower itself, it's a little bit tedious but it certainly can be done.

My 315 only has a Bluetooth connection and I often find myself going to the mower directly to check alarms.

Every mower I research seems to have issues with reliability and after sales aftersales service. Any exceptions that aren't too expensive?

Have a boundary wire laid on about 700m2 of bumpy lawn without slopes. Parkside/Lidl 1000m2 mower maintained it well last summer but the dock is giving issues now and there are no spares available.

Lawn is a good bit bigger but I maintain some of it manually to keep the auto mower area without slopes or narrow areas. Have two front lawns as well that I also do manually. One is bumpy as hell and the other has a load of saplings in it.

A lot of enthusiasm on this for mammation but trustpilot reviews are not great. Also don't know if yuka mini is suitable for my lawn and Luna is a bit expensive

@NeutralHandle You should check if they will replace the dock for a new one. I know a few people who had mowers replaced when they had issues.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 205 ✭✭NeutralHandle

Tried calling but been unable to get through to them.

Not sure they would replace the part for free as I have not got the receipt.

Part is 90 euro to purchase, which is less than a new mower. But out of stock. Spare parts being out of stock for a long time seems to be a thing with the mower.

Perhaps it will be available when they sell the mower this year, probably July. Perhaps I should just wait until then.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,597 ✭✭✭A2LUE42

Mower should have a serial number they can verify. If you don't have any luck with that, there should be plenty of folks with a spare dock, who got them with replacement mowers.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 205 ✭✭NeutralHandle

yeah I'll try support line again. One day it said there was a tech problem. Next it disconnected immediately after I got through to a human. Though I am pretty sure they won't have a replacement available, whether or not they want to honour the warranty, because it is out of stock sticon the grizzly tools website

In that context, if anyone has a spare dock for the 1000m2 Lidl mower then I'm interested in hearing about it.

Where do you get a sim for the Luba to use 4g? Rough idea on cost for the year?

    folks,

Looking back through these posts and trying get a gauge of a gps mower option for my parents. They have a couple of separate lawns and my father isn’t keen on digging up paving to lay cables. The dealer support would be ilportant also with someone close by. They are based in Meath. Lawn coverage is somewhere around 1500m2

Would appreciate a steer on this.
