Good to know thanks, strange that KIA bring out new EV6 and get rid of some fantastic features. Aw well

If all that stuff is gone what do you get extra in the gt line apart from heated rear seats?

4kwp South East facing PV System. 5.3kwh Weco battery. South Dublin City.

what I can make out is 20 inch wheels. Different bumper front and rear, ventilated seats and slightly better cruise control features.

What tyres have people been putting on when changing.

I enquired with Tyreland and of the list they sent I was looking at these:

Hankook - €175 per tyre, ( fuel economy rating: A, grip rating: B, noise rating: 69db

Presume that's a Ventus Evo 3? Very good tyre, quiet and long lasting.

I want given the tyre names just those details, I'll confirm before committing.

    Thanks

Ordered the facelifted ev6 gt line a couple of weeks ago (incidentally, after waiting for and cancelling a Tesla M3 due to Musk). Was told mid to late March.

Just wondering if anyone has taken or gotten word of delivery recently and how long delivery might actually be at the moment?

How is it going for you? Happy with it?

    EV6, 2022, Earth Model.

Got it last summer and all going well (apart from the iphone connection which is a known issue).

Today a problem started, where if i drive over 90Km/h, the car starts vibrating/shaking. The back tyres are approaching the point where they need to be changed, but they are still OK.

Any ideas what would cause this?

If it's the 19inch Kumho tyres, the the foam inside the tyre may have come loose, bunched up into a ball and causing a vibration. More info if you google it.

Thanks. I have Nexen, but there seems to be the same issue with them. I will get it checked out.

Thanks very much. It looks like this was it.

The tyre place changed the back two tyres as they said they needed to be changed anyway, and the foam was loose in one of them. I drove it, and it made no difference. I went back and they looked at the front tyres. One of them had the foam "Starting to come loose" and the other was fine. They removed the foam in the one where it was starting to come loose. I drove it afterwards and it seems to be sorted now.

A little bit surprising that the vibration was coming from the tyre where it was only starting to come loose (front) as opposed to the tyre where it had fully detached (back). But i am really glad that it is sorted and you saved me a wasted interaction with the garage.

The EV6 is so smooth, any wee thing off is very noticeable. Glad you got sorted.
I have the 19inch Kumho's, no problems so far, fingers crossed !

Was that not a warranty issue though - or is it classed as wear and tear?(Probably answered my own question!).

Balancing issues are far more noticeable from the front wheels than the rears. You’ll feel it through the steering wheel as opposed to the seat.

    Hi all

I bought a second hand GT line last year and its nearly time to replace some tyres.

Does anyone know what the spec of the original tyres for the GT Line was and also any recommendations for replacement ones?

    Thanks

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 298 ✭✭eltoastero

Stock tyre on the GT Line is the Continental PremiumContact 6 255/45 R20 (but with the ContiSilent foam)

This version doesn't specify if it's ContiSilent or not
    https://www.oponeo.ie/tyre/continental-premiumcontact-6-255-45-r20-105-v-xl-fr#559964656

    This version isn't "PremiumContact 6":
    https://www.oponeo.ie/tyre/continental-premiumcontact-6-255-45-r20-105-h-xl-fr-contisilent#558371471

    best to clarify before purchase.

I changed my rear pair to Michelin Primacy 4
    https://www.oponeo.ie/tyre/michelin-primacy-4-255-45-r20-105-v-xl-vol#558312597

and after a about 1000km I find the Michelin to have better grip in the damp but they sound louder in the wet at motorway speeds (it's like I can hear more water being displaced by the tyre). Both of these point could just be because it's a new tyre with deeper threads (rather than it being better rubber).

Quick question for those of you who have had the EV6 GT line for a while now!

Have any of ye gotten seat covers or are the seats holding up OK over time/wear?

    Thanks!

Are the facelift GT line models scarce at the moment?

Facelift only hit the shores in the last weeks/month. Give it time.

48000 for a pre facelift EV6? Brand new unregistered, dark blue colour.

Good deal or not? My father went to look at ev3 today with me but much preferred the ev6 by a long way.

Is 48k a good price, apparently it's a well specced run out model

  • Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 41,881 Mod ✭✭✭✭Gumbo

Is it the Special edition with the GT wheels, GT Headlights heated seats etc?

Its high compared to prices in December. I posted where you could have got one for €44k OTR on 9th December. I'll root out the dealer name now. Might be no harm calling them.

€48k only represents a €3k reduction on the facelift model.

    Edit - Kia Portlaoise.

Offered a new facelift for €48,900 at the time. Said Kia had some dealer offer to clear stock.

Yep it defo had upgraded wheels and it had heated rear seats which i imagine aren't standard. It was a dark blue colour too

  • Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 41,881 Mod ✭✭✭✭Gumbo

Yeah, i forget the name they put on it. It was the run out to clear the parts bin, like they all do in fairness. Nice cars, really nice. I was in one yesterday with tilt and slide sun roof, that was a nice extra on the GT Line.

It's not quite a GT Line but the man is 70, I think he just wants something big, good looking, reliable and comfortable. Some physical buttons a bonus too over some other brands. Can't fault the kia at all, ev6 was my 2nd choice before buying a tavascan, I'm a little surprised he liked it so much but he did, I was really showing him ev3 and eNiro.

I don't think he will spend too much time visiting different brands with me, I gave him a big print out of things I thought he might like from donedeal and he wanted to see kia first, dealership close to his home too, he had a sportage commercial for work for a while and loved it so he likes the brand.

I'll ring around for a few prices tomorrow to keep them honest, there's probably not a whole load left of that model. I don't think he'll be bothered with new model and I dont think he will want white.

0% finance, home charger installation which he doesn't need and 500 euro supervalu voucher too

  • Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 41,881 Mod ✭✭✭✭Gumbo

If its any consolation, my 75 year old FIL drives an eNiro. Loves it. Said it is the best car he's ever owned!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 6,775 ✭✭✭Buddy Bubs

Yep, they're as good as anything else aren't they. The warranty is a huge bonus.

Anyway we'll see what happens tomorrow. I'd say he'll move quickly. We were meant to go to nevo show on 22 March but he's actually unavailable to go now.

I flipped the home charger install for €850 on adverts.

I think my sister will take that charger to her house, doesn't have an EV yet but will in the future I suppose

500 voucher is finished I was mistaken in that

Did the deal already for him this morning, got a few quid off so he's happy with that, should have it on the driveway by end of next week. Yacht blue is the colour.
