Not many players can switch it's a totally different game.

No wind this week to likely make a difference ,plenty for Dessie to ponder .Just hope we can at least make it respectable and not get the hammering we deserve on the first half showing.

Ref having a laugh here. That wasn't 20 seconds.

"Well, yeah, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man"

I'm sorry but where was this rule last week when the Derry keeper was at it every kick out?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,351 ✭✭✭Fann Linn

I was there for the startled earwigs, this is worse.

I'd be the last person to defend a Dublin player but that's an absolute F'in joke calling Comerford for that kick out.

18 seconds by my count after I wound it back and counted. Commentators say 19.

FRC have said "in and around" 20 seconds. If refs are gonna act the pr!ck with that rule, it's gotta go.

    Finally a bit of heart.

And 14 seconds there for the Armagh keeper.

Ref having a mare with this now.

It needs to go, a long with most of them being honest. They are trying to turn it into AFL and this nonsense of a 2 pointer is beyond daft.

The lads will be doing a lot of shooting practice this week in training.

the quality of refereeing in Gaelic football is not good enough. is this a competence thing, is this lad just pure bad ? Or I’m wondering if just he’s seemingly aiming to favour the home team…. It’s bizarre. Ok Dublin are awful.. but jeez they got nothing from the referee aside from getting robbed.

Decent response here by Dublin, poor miss by ODell there, need to be taking those.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,277 ✭✭✭✭How Soon Is Now

Far to many wides. Actually starting to win few kick outs now makes huge difference.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,872 ✭✭✭MFPM

    Wides are killing them.

The game is too fast and the pitch too big for a single ref IMO.

Jesus Costello has been something else since come on.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,277 ✭✭✭✭How Soon Is Now

    That **** ref I swear.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 14,640 ✭✭✭✭JRant

Chalking off that Costello point was outrageous

Whatever about the first half performance and the wides I'm sorry we have been absolutely rode by the officials. Heads where up momentum was with us Costello kicks amazing score and ref pulls it.

There seem to be a bit of booing as the ball went over ,was it wide or something along the side that the umpire got involved .Anyway the match looks over ,better second half obviously could hardly have been worse I suppose .

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,351 ✭✭✭Fann Linn

Ref is atrocious , if this was a 1 point game in an All Ireland.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 14,640 ✭✭✭✭JRant

What was wrong with that shoulder?

Honestly, this ref had a mare tonight. He was making it up as he went along.

We lost the game in first half unfortunately. The wides where ridiculous but I'm actually more bothered by that ref. If the new rules are going to cause this much hassle with tools like that refing games then there's gonna be some incredibly frustrating shite coming up for many teams.

  • Subscribers Posts: 16,882 ✭✭✭✭copacetic

We were bad enough, but god the officials are a law unto themselves with the new rule, giving multiple random decisions that no one is sure are correct and no checks done on them, tap over frees when it hasn’t been 20s, scores ruled out after a chat with linesman for no apparent reason, easy 3/3 tap overs for no apparent reason. Linesman looked to have not noticed a Dublin player in that last one.

when you get to croke park its guaranteed they are going to give a tap over free to decide a final or semi final and the high behind camera will actually show it was the wrong decision and probably they didn’t notice 6 other actual ones during the game. Bringing in rules like this without video checks will be regretted.

Really poor shooting overall ,plenty to work on looks like we need another win to be certain of safety .

It's even worse in the club game. Cones out om the pitch marking the outer scoring arc, it's laughable.

EOD is a defender. Big ask to play at FF. He played a bit there for Whitehall . His physicality allowed him to prosper but needs for more than that for Inter County. Would surprised to surprised to see him again for footballers.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 14,640 ✭✭✭✭JRant

Is there any talk of him going back to the hurling panel or is he all in on the big ball?
