He seems to be trying to set it up to get the Ukrainian people (and everybody else) to ditch Zelenskyy - what an absolute ghoul.

Pure performance for a base that will never accept him.

Disagree. America no longer holds all the cards. Yes American support is important but I don’t think its essential, provided Europe steps up.

Spain's GDP is not the same as Russia's it is 500 billion smaller. It's debt is 7 times bigger and Russia's natural proven resources is $75 trillion and Spain's is zero. Added to that it's military is 1000 times bigger than Spain's.

Could you imagine how long Spain would last under 22,000 sanctions that were applied to Russia by 15% of the world it would of collapsed in a month as would most countries in Europe.

Even that crazy new appointment to the head of diplomacy in the EU today said countries only joined Nato because they were scared of Russia. Maybe she is on the phone tonight trying to book a meeting with Lavrov.

Europe have not and will not step up, therefore US support is essential.

Maybe Zelensky should offer China the Deal that was going to be on the table with USA.

Or do China have the weapons to send.

I'm just surprised Trump didn't say "McFly, hello McFly".

Trump is a few sandwiches short of a picnic in my opinion. I genuinely think that there could be some psychological defect at play. Don’t know how it works constitutionally but can the Attorney General make some order to get a shrink to take a look at him ?

I’m in no way an ‘ all in for Ukraine ‘ guy, I think Zelenskyy and others have more than a bit of a ‘grifter’ element to them and are in this..hoping for way more than just short / medium term ‘support’ vs Russia ( the whole EU thing proves that ) but Trump there looks like some wild fella sitting on a barstool after 4 pints pontificating, to his own ego.

The man is dangerous in my opinion. Quite an error on behalf of the US citizens to vote him in again. That said Harris was a really lousy candidate so….the Democrats 👎🏼

Why, when China and it's allies control the worlds rare earth supply chain already ?

    Oh, there's no argument there.

But Zelensky needs to take Trump as he finds him and, for better or worse, Trump is the one person who can make/break Ukrainian defenses more than anyone else.

How can any Trump supporter (and there are a few on Boards) not look at that exchange today and like the meme ask themselves "Are we the baddies.."

What level of insanity do we need to get to here before they actually start questioning this themselves

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,998 ✭✭✭yagan

They've actually only supplied a tenth of what Europe has already. Meanwhile Trumps besty Putin is sending russians to the front on donkeys.

Trump calls himself the great negotiator, and yet he can't get Russia to give up one inch, or allow one peace keeper, and then hides behind telling Zelensky ' you have no cards to play''

''Get the hell out of Ukraine Putin, or I'll arm Ukraine to the teeth '' is the only card Putin understands, but cowardly US won't go there, while the Ukrainians fight with their bare hands to their death

Russia ha little debt because no one is **** insane enough to lend them anything in first place

That a Russian representative tries to spin that as a positive is the height of hilarity

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 6,571 ✭✭✭CalamariFritti

Ye keep believing that. Did you not hear what was said? 'Ukraine is in deep deep trouble.' 'I know that.'

I know it wasnt a nice exchange but there are some hard facts here all the same.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,100 ✭✭✭✭briany

I'm watching the meeting back, now. This is even worse than I expected.

Zelensky leaving without signing the deal is totally understandable, but a potentially seismic decision, nonetheless.

While that is true they also dont need borrowing with all the resources they can sell.

And of course it's a positive. Almost every western and many non-western states are up to their eye balls in debt and need to pay significant amounts in interest out their budgets every year. To 'the markets'. Of course it would be a good thing for any country not having to do that.

Scary that Trump showed to Americans that its now socially acceptable to bully people in vulnerable positions.

What a setup. 2028 cant come fast enough.

Surely you typed a few extra zeros in your excitement to big up Russian military might. Order of magnitude maybe, 3…no. Ditto on that exaggerated rubbish, it is not Russia, true, but Spain does have resources.

Strange to see you dropping some truth bombs about why these countries (Baltic states) joined NATO (fear and mistrust of Russia, and belief they need deterrence).

I thought they were enticed in to encircle Russia, and set up for a plot for the US to attack it from forward bases or something?

Anwyays into the shredder with your old scripts about the US, all very confusing and chaotic right now, and it and makes a mess of talking points you've been pushing out here for years.

Anything bad to say about Uncle Sam for us?

The Doomsday clock is now at 89 seconds to midnight. The closest it has ever been in its 78 years of existence.

It's the bally ballyness of it that makes it all seem so bally bally.

Well Trump is managing to unite European leaders on Zelenskyy's X page.

Do you really expect that brain dead populace to vote any different then. It’ll be a continuation of the same flavour whoever takes over from him. It’s a cult.

Which is why it would be of interest to China. The more control you have over something the the more you control the price of something.
