Ukraine will continue to have Europe's support. America can go and do one.

Zelensky was asked by a journalist was he disrespecting the Oval office dressed like that.

I don't think it's a big issue myself and in a way it helps him stand out but it's not the first time he has been challenged on dress code at summits to be fair.

Does being at war mean never wearing a suit? Is it appropriate to show up at these type of meetings dressed like that when you need to be taken seriously? Personally I don't think so but it's such a minor thing.

JD Vance was the instigator of that unedifying confrontation. He knew exactly what he was doing. Trump did what Trump does.

The only people who could still be supportive of Trump must be nihilists.

My heart goes out to Zelensky and the Ukrainian people in this dark time. They set Zelensky up for this, this was their plan.

I am lost for words to describe my hate and disgust for America right now. The sheer disrespect and a pure display of bullying that rat bastard Trump and JD spoke towards Zelensky makes it clear to me that the US is pro Russia. Ukraine should not sign any deal. The US is dead, dust.

Vance would **** his pants in Ukraine. As would Trump.

Meanwhile Zelensky is down on the ground meeting the guys on the front line, and no doubt seeing the bodies of his fellow countrymen in the streets.

Zelensky is the face of Ukraine, an invaded country. What he wears reflects that - sounds like that question was planted/from a MAGA-friendly outlet

Certainly JD Vance set him up. Trump isn't bright enough for it.

Just watching the extended highlights now, Trump is onto email, Hunter Biden, laptop, stolen elections, and he is praising Vladimir Putin.

It will be quite unedifying for Martin to go in there and bend the knee but what choice does he have? Does he dare bring up Ukraine at all?

They were panicking over getting an invite in DFA, they must surely be **** themselves now.

Trump is the best thing to ever happen the true super power China and the best thing to happen the EU in years (even better than Brexit)

He is reshaping the world for the better for everyone except America. Russia is only a stooge and will remain a husk of a country after this war is over.

I was willing to accept the trump presidency if it kickstarted the economy there and pushed the stock markets in the right direction.

But this is absolutely disgusting and disgraceful. I really don't know where things go from here. This behaviour from trump and Vance the last few weeks is beyond words. Zelensky has been treated disgracefully.

and now we go live to Washington

They evaluate his appearance during the meeting with Putin as "shameful", Trump is mocked mercilessly on social media (Photo) - Telegrafi - Telegrafi

One way of sorting out the truth from the disinformation is for the media organisations to keep running the recordings they made in the Oval Office without any studio jockeys adding their after-the-act opinions to the TV display. Just the recordings continuously on a loop from every media group for the next seven days. If Trump wants to use the media to lie to the US, then use the media against him; word for word, action for action. Prove to the US public that their president is a LIAR who cant tell the truth.

    He's losing support already.

Job cuts are already hitting people who voted for him.

He doesn't care. Hell be gone or dead in a few years anyway. He's almost 80 and obese.

Vance is a complete turd of a human being. The man that called Trump "America's Hitler" a few years ago and is now suckling at the teat of the Orange Moron like the rest of the Republicans. It's actually sickening. Zelenskyy did well not to go and nut JD Vance, which to be fair, would've been fully deserved.

watched a rerun, he started shìtting on about Hilary, Hunter's laptop, Obama. he's a grade a moron

If that interview was condensed into an Instagram reel the comments section would mostly consist of......"Is this satire?"

Vance proved he's a desperate asal and Trump just carried on being Trump. What a time to be alive. Fair play to Zelensky.

hats off to him for standing up to them - a pair of tinkers!

Zelensky should do what is in the best interest of the people of Ukraine, if that means smiling and sucking up to Trump, then that's what he should do.

    #MEGA MAKE EUROPE GREAT AGAIN

It started as Zelenskyy got out of the car - Trump mocked his “outfit”- he was doomed from the start - Trump was playing to the American audience - he didn’t want whatever was agreed anyway- Trump will just decrease whatever “offer” was on the table today - it was all by design

That's not necessarily the word I would use myself.

Iirc Zelensky said he had no plans to put on a suit until the war is over. I'd say the PR for the US is far worse. Basically they've come across like a petty extension of Trump... Meanwhile most are disgusted by Trump's treatment of Zelensky.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,729 ✭✭✭✭breezy1985

Zelensky is truly one of the great leaders of our time. A fact only reinforced by how intimated and insecure his detractors are.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,035 ✭✭✭✭Tell me how

This is the clown who said he was the best negotiator on the planet.

He couldn't make a deal with a leader on his knees with both arms tied around his back. He just wasn't capable of finding a way to get what he wanted.

Like with Covid and BLM, he had a crisis that he could sit on the edges of and have capable people navigate the steps to get him what he wanted and even after Zelensky coming to the states to sign a deal in good faith, this clown couldn't see it out.

The worst US President of all time! And he's there for nearly 4 more years.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,344 ✭✭✭✭Strazdas

Vance having a right go at Zelensky seemed to embolden Trump who immediately went on the attack right afterwards.

In one sense, today might be no bad thing. It shows who the real bad guys here (US and their new ally Russia) and how Zelensky is just trying to do right by his country.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,780 ✭✭✭threeball

What do you mean, kickstarted the economy? He inherited a booming economy and a stock market that was also very buoyant? Only maga fools bought the line that everything was in the shìtter.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 566 ✭✭✭DrPsychia

The day Trump dies, and Putin, is the day I will jump with sheer Joy. I imagine it will be like the day the news broke to the Allies that Hitler was dead and the war was over a week later.

Trump and his buddy Putin are the absolute worst examples of the human species. They are psychopaths.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,728 ✭✭✭✭kowloon

He should have put on a suit...

    A nice tan suit.

    I'm actually speechless.

Fair **** play to zelensky he didn't take a word crap lying down

Being Trump's bitch is not what is in the best interest of Ukraine. We all know Trump is a ruthless, two-faced businessman and any negotiations will be for his own gain. He's already calling himself a peacemaker, that he is controlling any deal. Ukraine will not be a winner if Zelensky allows him to walk all over him.
