Digital Pipestat?

Thank you, I saw those but dismissed them for two reasons …….. they are designed, IMO, to monitor the environment the probe is inserted into, rather than clamped onto something, and secondly they would be semi-permanently attached rather than useful for taking a quick reading and moving to another pipe - unless multiple units were attached to different pipes.

If the device I linked gives a reasonably accurate reading then it should cover my need ……. reasonably quick attach/detach of probe to a pipe, with the additional benefit of a comparison of two temps at the one time.

I am hopeful, if not convinced yet - I have ordered one to see how it works. 😁
