Limerick GAA Discussion Part 2

Finn,Dan,Kyle,Will,Darragh,Hego,PeterCasey

will have to be refixed for st Patrick’s weekend as it’s only weekend with no hurling on which will mean Limerick will have to play 4 weekends in a row. Not ideal.

Hopefully we pick up a few points in the first 2 games and then we can put the B team out knowing we are safe in 1A.

Definitely don't want to go into the Wexford game needed a result.

Game against Clare has just got tastier given their result against Wexford. We could officially relegate them if Cork beat Kilkenny on the Saturday. Hopefully the extra week off doesn't see our lads going into the game too rusty.

Huge blow he's an unbelievable player. I admire him so much as a player and a person .I don't think there's anyone that will be missed more than him including even kelly.

I'd expect a ferocious go at this game from Clare. They need a win plus our history!

plenty of work for Kiely and co to do. Sob started well but faded out. Fitzgibbon players looked leggy. Could and should have scored 3 goals. Wonder does kiely want to make the league final or just find the right team and be ready for thurles chocolate egg day.

The team that wanted it more today won,having said that if we had taken one or two of the goal chances it could have been a different result.Overall id say JK would be happy enough with the league so far,he seems to have more options all over the field .

Gillane is a brilliant ball winner and so consistent in putting in 4+ point from play performance every time he goes out.

Would you be abit concerned about him not being clinical enough in taking goals though? He should have had 2 or 3 today. Going back through the years, I can remember chances he had against Kilkenny in 2018, ourselves in 2021, Clare in Munster last year and last year in the all ireland semi.

Some of those weren't fatal but it was today and probably would have been the difference in the All Ireland semi. It would be harsh to blame him for those that ended with defeats because he was generally really good but you have to take your goal chances.

it was a great game to watch on tv , i had the clare fm commentary on with it and it didnt sound like a bad atmosphere but its only a league game really

i imagine diarmuid byrnes will get that red overturned , the clare commentators were saying that tyler walsh sent someone off in a ucc game a few weeks ago in the fitzgibbon for the same thing , but it looked very harsh

the point he got a few minutes earlier was outstanding he threw i think it was sean rynne out of the way and shot from about 90 yards down field over the bar it was somthing else ,

i also think jason gillane is a much better keeper then i first taught , i actually taught dowling would be your keeper this year just on long range puck outs alone , but the one area where limerick were short today was in the middle 3rd and he found his men well and looks a good free taker too, barry nash was excellent too but you nearly expect that as normal from him now

Good game for Limerick to get, sticky enough underfoot and the ref let a lot go, the goal turned the game and Clare were good value for the win, Limerick with plenty to work on.

Today probably a lack of pace in the backs, Nash excepted, Cian and English were good but Malone & Taylor had the upper hand, the half-forward's were not as effective as normal, inside Arron G. looks razor sharp. Jason did ok in goals but hopefully trying to buy a free out by falling over in contact is a lesson learned ref's have stopped giving those at inter county

it was a much better game then the match in cork last night in terms of first touch and intensity , but limerick have loads to come back they probably wont be overly happy with the bull o'brians impact in the second half , in fact i taught the inside line were below par for limerick , the worry i have is despite all the absentees in the middle 3rd we still struggled at times in wining dirty ball and our ball into the forwards , we got good ball in the first 15 minutes of the half but even when ye were down to 14 the ball into out forwards from midfield was poor

i think jason gillane looks the part in fairness , he has huge shoes to fill, i think adam english has another gear too

The game passed Flanagan by, but a bit harsh on O Brien. He won 7 balls out in front of his man, got 2 points, won 2 frees and drew a good save from quilligan. Faded out in the last part of the game alright.

Where's darragh ó donovan? Is he injured? Haven't heard any updates like other players
