The evolving scenario we have seen in Ukraine is putin burning through his military forces to grind to a virtual standstill and to no longer have the resources to take advantage of any supply issues Ukraine has faced and might face in the future.

He can't even defend his empire effectively anymore with Kursk still being partly occupied by the Armed forces of Ukraine and regular successful strikes by Ukraine deep into putin's terrorist state to weaken their economy and military capabilities. Recent assaults by putin's terrorists have looked more like a band of scavengers from Mad Max movies rather than military operations.

No. The correct way to think of these matters is to substitute Putrid for Trump; would Putrid allow…?

    No.

Allegedly, Trump's FSB code name is Krasnov. Recruited in '87.

Former Chairman of Kazakhstan’s National Security Committee (KNB) Alnur Mussayev claims that the Soviet KGB recruited Donald Trump before the collapse of the USSR, assigning him the alias "Krasnov."

That now makes two ex KGB officers making the same claim. The other is named Shvets, details here:

    https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/kgb-spy-russia/

"The feeling was that he was extremely vulnerable intellectually, and psychologically, and he was prone to flattery,"

    Harsh, but fair.

Make sure to note the major advertising campaign criticising NATO he 'paid' for. Seems familiar, this anti NATO thing.

Think I'll call him Krasnov from now on.

What we are seeing in the news channels is probably at most 10% of whats actually going on ,the world is in a difficult place at the mo, and we're in it ,but they won't tell us what's going on .winkers.

The law of averages leads to something big happening in the USA and Trump losing interest in Ukraine.

Unfortunately it will probably take a terrorist attack to bring them to their senses.

Europe just needs to be able to support the Ukraines defensively until Russia can no longer attack which is estimated to be months rather than years.

    And this mornings headlines

"U.S. negotiators pressing Kyiv for access to Ukraine's critical minerals have raised the possibility of cutting the country's access to Elon Musk's vital Starlink satellite internet system"

I said this was coming before he even won the election. It's not just Trump that's a Russian asset. Is execution still the punishment for treason?

Or a Reichstag fire type incident for Trump to consolidate power and make himself an absolute furher.

The current situation won’t continue. It’s neither here nor there. Either Trump gets overthrown or he becomes an outright Dictator.
Trump / Musk are the antithesis of predictable reliable democratic government.
They despise it. They want chaos and adversity and knocking counterparts and enemies off balance.

It seems to me that it would be better to weaken Russia and strengthen US - Europe alliance.

It looks like history is starting up again.

Just on a earlier take on the present state of the Russian assault, lots of mad max vibes but I don't remember there being donkeys in the movie.

If mad max was futuristic dystopia then would the Russian forces be retrogressive dystopia?

Trump would welcome a terrorist attack as it would rally people to the flag. He's working off Putins playbook so false flags are only a matter of time.

According to an ex Russian advisor they are gobsmacked at the concessions Trump's team was offering them.

"Peace deals are easy just give the invaders everything they want and blackmail whoever they are invading"

Looking at the ‘ SMO’at a pure technical level and from a military perspective . As some posters say here, Poland or France could wipe out/ defeat Russia within the proverbial week . Why then is it necessary to involve any other nation - including the US - with either of these countries if either went to war with RU.

It must be stated that most of the EU countries - with their different type arnaments- carry out annual war simulation exercises under the NATO umbrella. So exercising in the future should be more successful re coordination , etc, because of one partner ie the US - albeit a big bully type partner- has pulled out.

And if Poland or France go to war with Ru there is every possibility that other countries that they held exercises with would ‘help out’ and the proverbial week might turn out to be a ‘few days”

Any negotiator worth their salt would tell you you don't start making major concessions even before talks have commenced. This is really amateurish stuff.

The harder part would be "what happens next?"

So a combined EU force smashes Russias war machine, how do we run Russia then?

It would be a mistake to repeat the US in Iraq, however I think that unlikely considering Russias is a backyard issue.

Sounds familiar? Trump has alraedy stated that discussions on a new world order would include The US, Russia and China he didn't see anyone else being involved. A massive change in mindset and a challenge to the EU and others.

Indeed. I've long held that for Russia(and now MAGA America)the EU not NATO was their biggest bugbear and actual target*. And if we need any more indicators that Trump is sucking on the Kremlin's teat it's naming Russia as one of the three "world order" nations. China's an obvious nod, as is the US, but Russia, a nation with the same sized economy as Italy? Yes they have resources, but it's like the slow kid in the class been let join in for inclusion because he can be violent if left out.

*I've even noticed a trend among Russians and Russian sympathisers I know; The EU's von der Leyen lives rent free in their heads and mentioned and derided all the time, whereas the head of NATO or any other NATO names are mentioned, well, never.

Many worry about Artificial Intelligence. I worry far more about Organic Idiocy.

But it's not poor gameplay as such; they're going in there intending to give Russia most of what they want.

I think Trump is happy for Russia to try roll through Europe.

Leaving USA, China and Russia as world leaders.

Polish President on yesterday's candid call with Zelensky. Seems like he supports Trumps way of thinking about ending the conflict and believes only with US help and dialogue with the Russians that can be achieved.

Seems he has changed his mind on things compared to a couple of weeks ago.

Rehabilitating Russia only demotes the USAs stature. Trump is always complaining that the EU is unfair, they won't buy our cars etc.

I remember Merkel saying if the US built better cars they'd sell in Europe. I think it was in the same exchange that she had to explain to him that if he wanted a trade with Germany he'd have to negotiate with the EU. He just didn't get it.

Anyway his threats to withdraw from NATO are meaningless when he doesn't include any members who joined a bloc created specifically to counter the Soviet and then later Russian threat.

It’s amazing how things pan out Roy Cohn Trumps life long fixer and mentor “Cohn played a major role in McCarthy's anti-Communist hearings. During the Lavender Scare, Cohn and McCarthy alleged that Soviet Bloc intelligence services had blackmailed multiple U.S. Federal Government employees into committing espionage in return for not exposing their closeted homosexuality.‘

Ironically, now we have Trump whose first election victory was delivered in a not insignificant way through Russian election interference. He was also financially propped up by Russians in the early 90’s and now he is openly doing the Russians bidding v the Ukraine and Europe.

It’s a pity the EU doesn’t openly call him out on this. A traitor is all he is.

What I am confident of does not matter. This thread is about the invasion of Ukraine so they are the only ones whose opinion matters and the political and military leaders there are the ones with sufficient information to judge how long to continue the fight to protect their country from genocide and terrorism from putin's forces. Zelenskyy is not going to come out publicly and say they do not want assistance from the USA even if Trump is trying to renege on his country's commitments to protect Ukraine after they gave up their soviet nuclear weapons and many officials in the Ukraine government will make statements along the same lines as weapons from the USA have helped them deal with putin's terrorists. Trump pulling out USA support for their fight against terrorism will cost Ukrainian lives.

We need them way more. The only thing America needs to do is protect their own borders.
