Why is there a crackdown on gun ownership?

Need to get more youth into the sport and gun owners should invite their friends to try shooting with them if their club allows it.

Not to forget the big increases in the cost of ammo over the last few years. It's pushed a lot of shooters either to lower calibres or out of our sports altogether.

Knowing this country,there is an adage of "Liscense one and own it before it gets banned!"At least you have a fighting chance of keeping it rather than no hope of ever getting one post ban.You never know in this country what daft mindset or idea can enter a politicans or civil serpents head on what gun or dog or type of speech is particullary dangerous and must be removed by nanny state for "public saftey".

As for what caliber 223or308. TBH there isnt a massive difference in the bulk packs of 308 or 223[100 rounds] anymore.[+/- 20 to 25 Euro depending on seller]

Different if of course,if you are buying special match grade target loads and are off to Bisley with either caliber,or are going on a once in a lifetime hunt.But for club shoots and the like I'll use either or both cals as the mood feels.

Yep, you know things are bad when that stuff is so expensive. It was always my cheap plinking choice for 223 as well. I find I'm sticking to the 22s more and more these days and the 223 has become a treat..

Thats what I was buying it for and the 308,IIRR is 10 euros more.Must be the same shop . Meantime on the continent the same company [S&B ] is selling 308 ammo per thousand for 260 euro in some dealers.
