During his first term he never tried to reach out to all citizens, but instead continued to hold rallies with his faithful cultists.

I bet when the Capital riots were happening his lizard brain was thinking if he got another shot he'd have enough true believers to overthrow democracy and install himself and his descendants as defacto royalty.

Sadly we all know now that the Trump administration is at best not going to give any support to Ukraine and at worst give tacit support to US.

It's very unpalatable, but there's not point in not facing it. No more support from the US. So where can Ukraine and Europe go from here? Surely its feasible for the rest of the continent to increase its support so there is no surrender. The US has disgraced itself and cannot be trusted going forward, lets hope something similar can't be said for the EU.

And he lost his next election as a result

The campaigning for midterms are about to start

Interestingly his team spelled out what they are most worried about this week in Munich, they are worried about US tech and social media companies being either more regulated and or banned, they are worried about their meddling and support of far right parties being over ruled in courts

Europe can directly put pressure on those fears of the MAGA far right, threathen blanket ban of X (they can’t even claim to be freedom of speech as X banned signal, and MAGA busy banning books)

    Sow doubt about Tesla

Start “reviewing” contracts with US companies

Open up investigations into funding of far right and far left parties

Yet again Trump and co are clowns they can be dealt with easily unlike Putin who has tight control in Russia, something Trump does not yet have in US (tho he is trying to dismantle the republic)

US under Trump wants access to European markets without regulations, or having to support their allies

Screw him, look how quickly he folded to Putin, the clown is not a master negotiator he thinks, he got this far by not “playing by the rules” well deal with him in same manner, throw away rule book and tie him up in so much bullshit that he regrets the day the good idea fairy visited him and whispered that he should side with Putin

No doubt Trump is fully up to date on all the facts of what happened prior to this conflict and after it started. Full access to information from the Pentagon, CIA and other classified intelligence data as well as having access previous employees of the Biden administration. No doubt they have had a nice little file on the topic for some time.

Jeffrey Sachs was invited to the EU Parliament the other day and released some details from a conversation with those directly involved at the top level.

I can imagine for a lot of people especially those who grew up in drab economically depressed Ireland the USA was the promised land to escape to. We greedily absorbed their TV and movie culture, adopted attitudes, and even reflected those absorbed influences back unto them with the likes of U2.

We're seeing in Trump the cult of radical individualism eat itself. Self interest always.

Hans Mahnke lol. Trump couldn't give a flying **** about the intelligence. He only cares about how he can gain from anything.

i think musk owns donnie vonshitzinpants,to me it looks like musk bought the presidency…and putin has donnie by the nappy…and to my mind it looks like donnie and putin want to divide up Ukraine between themselves…all this talk of negotiations, the only negotiation should be to tell putin to feck off back across the border, then, maybe we'll talk…

"They gave me an impossible task, one which they said I wouldnt return from...."

"You are him…the one they call the "Baba Yaga"…

yo! donnie vonshitzinpants, vlad putin, benji netanyahu..you sirs are the skidmarks on the jocks of humanity!!!

Big news if true. Posted by MEP Mika Aaltola on Twitter.

Finland's Mika Aaltola of the European People's Party:"The United States has given us three weeks to agree on terms for Ukraine's surrender. If we don't, the United States will withdraw from Europe."

Given the fact that Trump and his administration lies on a constant basis, I'm pretty confident this isn't based on some special file he knows about. But of course you're favouring the narrative because it suits you.

So Trump's in full surrender mode. How pathetically weak the US has become.

Any evidence to back up this claim, if true other sources would have confirmed

    Say

How do Russian propagandists intend to deal with a hole they dug themselves into

Let’s say US completely pulls all US troops and closes all the bases of theirs in Europe

How will the Russian propagandist deal with the fact that they spent three years claiming Russia is at war with USA and now there are no US troops on the continent but there is still a war Putin has started?

    It's just unfathomably crazy.

MAGA heads want a strongman leader, yet here's the very strongman leader they all fawn over surrending to their historical arch enemy and rival.

There must be unseen before levels of congnitative dissonance going on in their minds.

As I've said a few times, I'm not convinced. Ukraine is getting pushed back gradually as things stand even with significant American military backing. Take that all away pretty much overnight, I don't see how Europe picks up the slack effectively instantaneously

Their definition of strength is different though. They want someone who'll bully the people they hate, not someone who'll stand up for what we were told were American values.

It's the behaviour of a cult.

Well many had Ukraine written off when Russia invaded three years ago. Yet here we are with Ukraine developing a new type of 21st century warfare while Russia is still reliant on 20th thinking, high attrition rate wave tactics and a dwindling 20th century arms stockpile.

Any gains Russia make are at a huge manpower loss while Ukraine can tactically retreat and reattack as Russia's lines thin out.

Botster will stop extolling the value of summits between great men deciding the world order, and the wonders of Putin-Trump peace + diplomacy bringing an end to war in Ukraine.

We'll have the code-switch back to the (more honest) military botster ("Cower before the Bear" mode).

i.e.…weak and woke europeans trembling before Putin's mighty "Oreshniks" flying overhead, and waves of goose stepping super soldiers etc. Probably need a bingo card for it.

Trump wants to leave NATO/Europe. He is just looking for an excuse or someone to blame. As to why ? Most likely following russian orders… or stupidity….

Venality. Follow the money. The 1936 Neutrality Act didn't keep the USA out of World War 2. A 21st century surrender act will fail even more spectacularly.

The reality is Europe has done just enough up to now when there was far more there is and could do. We now face an existential threat which must be met head on. Russia won't invade today or tomorrow but in 3 or 4yrs when its rebuilt, it will come for what are now European states and we will see a situation where our kids are going to war. All that is avoidable but it takes a bit of foresight.

Idiots like we have sitting in Dublin who are life long can kickers won't recognise the threat, but Finland, Poland and even now Germany will know what is coming down the tracks. Right now, if France alone went to war with Russia, it would win. Poland can either sit on their box of toys and wait 3yrs for hell to visit or they can take them out of the wrapper now and prevent much worse days in the future.

Yes, I've thought this for the last week or two. If you're in the UK or Europe and on board the Trump-Musk-Putin train, can you really call yourself a 'nationalist' or a 'patriot' at all? All this craziness and chaos must be doing damage to the right wing populist movement.

Just type it in twitter, it is in Finnish though.

EDIT Looks like it is correct, you would imagine he would be in a bit of trouble if he was making it up.

Imagine now being a European Trump fan and trying to explain why Putin should be allowed to invade whoever he wants in Europe.

Trump effectively severed the transatlantic alliance.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,807 ✭✭✭threeball

Trump fans tend to be Putin fans too. Its not hard for them to square that circle. And they'll all have a great laugh til they're drafted.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,794 ✭✭✭yagan

But now they have to explain which part of their respective countries should be given to Putin.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,402 ✭✭✭✭Strazdas

It's starting to remind me of Oswald Mosley in the 1930s. He apparently met Hitler several times in Germany and would undoubtedly have been installed as some sort of puppet leader if the Nazis had ever invaded. If you're in thrall to foreign 'strong men' and authoritarians at the expense of your own country, you are no patriot.

Arguably though, Trump might be doing Europe a big favour by so publicly ripping up all alliances. There is no ambiguity in all this and it does give Europe a clear path for the next decade or two knowing that the US is no longer a friend or ally, nor a defender of its security.

simples. They will deny they ever said anything. It’s always been like that and works fine with vas brainless population in Naziland. They said “Kiev in 3 days”. Three years later they claim they never said it. When presented with millions of facts, they still deny. Deny and lie is part of ruSSian culture (I mean they have no culture to start with, but anyway). Tupin was asked on TV a while ago what would he suggest as a best thing for future generations. He answered “to lie”. This is also what the handful of vatnik posters constantly do on this thread - spread lies

As recently as the previous page @Sand slipped up and called Europe “vassals of US”

Years of carefully crafted Russian propaganda narratives being undone by Trump overnight

I presume 'surrender' is yer man's spin, technically it means agreeing to Trump's peace plan which allows Putin to hold Ukranian land he has annexed up to now, rather than handing him the entire country…
