Yes, reading back over some recent posts on this thread, it seems some people were contacted & offered an opportunity to express interest in a Revenue role. I'm not sure how this was determined, perhaps based on OOM or location, etc. I haven't received any contact to date..

    Hi guys,

I had my interview on the 27th January. Got the results on Feb 7 and I’m OOM 5 in my batch. They asked for my certificates and transcripts already.

Any experiences on timelines? I might have another job offer soon, but I really wanted to accept the AO. I really don’t know what to do.

It usually takes about three weeks unless they have to do extra checks if youre in a department where they have a higher security clearance. Usually you'll get a start day about a month after that so two months from now I'd say.

Results for last weeks interviews are out

Anyone get placed in a Department yet? Are next set of interviews on? Thanks :)

As of yesterday, they reached an OOM of 124 on the panel. If results from that batch called the last week of January are out as per above I imagine based on previous years a group will be called next week and presumably another batch in a little over a month's time.

anyone else in batch 1 still waiting to be assigned?? I haven’t heard a peep

The advice you got is spot on but I would add that I found the interview board lovely! It was intense and they move you through the questions very quickly but there’s no trick questions, they are very clear about what they’re asking and they were kind and friendly. They kept telling me to take water breaks while they spoke! All in all, a very positive experience despite the intensity of it. Happy with my result today too.

when did you send you transcripts?

Law graduates don't qualify? Weird since a lot of this seems to involve being part of the formation of laws.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30 batkitten

Great minds think alike! But yes this does seem strange not to include law graduates (unless a separate competition will open), especially as there will be roles required in Garda Civilian Positions.

yep, batch 1 and still waiting! Sent all my clearance stuff 2 weeks ago and still haven’t heard anything. Seems to be quite slow moving

It could just be the time of year, this week was mid term and a lot of staff took some or all off. Also, our annual holidays run 1st April to 31st March so a lot of staff are taking random days off now because come the second week of March people are scrambling to take time off. Don't worry, you'll get there : ) Be great to hear where you're going.

I’m already in the cs so presumably don’t need clearance as I haven’t even heard about that!

Hopefully will start moving soon :)

Does it seem likely that there will be another batched called? I’m in the 160s so I should be in the next one if they do decide to call more. However they seem to be very slow placing people so it making me feel doubtful that I’d be called.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23 DaireT98

It's usually very slow with this competition. Most years they reach about 500-600 on the OOM and we're only 2 months in and 124 have been called. I'm in the 200s. I imagine you'll be called by Easter at the latest I may need to wait until just after.

The first few months is usually the slowest too as you've Christmas and then a lot of people desperate to use up holidays.

I've just started as a CO myself while I'm waiting on this one and had 5 days to use in my first two months so am just hoping an interview doesn't interfere with my trip to Spain next month!

I know I’m the same. I’m in this competition and the eo one currently and waiting is killing me. Feels like I can’t plan anything nice just in case I get called.

Any update on where in the OOM they have gotten to now?

Has anyone in batch 2 heard anything since the skills matching? Any progress either for those in batch 1 waiting for assignment?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23 DaireT98

What was the skills matching? I'm still waiting to be called for interview

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17 emptyfishtank

Same here, I'm in the 190s OOM and no word yet on interview. Considering first batch was 79 and last batch was 50 I reckon there's a good chance it'll be the batch after next for me so hoping to hear word in 3-4 months if I'd to make a guess

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11 Starscrush

The skills matching was a questionnaire after the interview results came out. It listed a few skills areas like communication, operations etc. and you wrote what experience you had in those area(s) (if any). Supposed to help you be matched to a more relevant area but previous threads here have noted that the assignments didn’t seem to take what you had said in the skills matching into account.

I'd like to think, it'll be quicker. I'm just behind you and going by previous years, it should be.
