I’m not sure of the process but I got my invitation to interview for Batch 2 on 27/1. Maybe someone from Batch 1 can say where they were in the process at that date.

Does anybody know how long it takes for a response after the interview? Mine was a department led interview run directly by the DSP, it wasn't through public jobs. I've been waiting just under 2 weeks now and I thought it would be a little quicker considering there's no batches/streams etc.

It varies from department to department. About two weeks would be normal but keep in mind that there's been two bank holidays, and many would have taken leave either side of them.

Did you end up hearing back from them?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13 irish5678

yes I got my OOM. I placed between 15-20. I'm not sure how high of a chance I have in getting the job - I can't really find any similar competitions on boards. I think this is one of the few competitions they have ran where there are 2 intakes; April and September. Hoping to get a job offer before September but also not getting my hopes up!

If anyone has any similar experience I'd love to hear it.

I’m in the exact same boat, and in the same area in the OOM. Did you also get a pretty high aggregate score in the competencies (>80)? It was surprising to see those scores and that OOM when the competition was so small.

I’d say the “April” intake has sailed at this point so we’ll see. Someone I was chatting to said they were taking two batches of 6 (could be complete speculation, mind you), so I’m not overly optimistic. But we’ll see… it’s worth holding out some hope, I guess.

Yes! I thought I had a good interview personally and averaged in the 80s for all the competencies, obviously the standard was high across the panel.

It's also so hard to find anyone similar for this competition so it's reassuring that someone else is in the same boat.

Let me know if you hear anything

Ah you wouldn’t know! It could be anything with the civil service. Fingers crossed for us both, and hopefully we’ll be sitting together within the year! Will definitely let you know if I learn anything new.

Do you think they meant 6 for April & 6 for September?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4 cheesesticks

It was just one person’s speculation based on a totally different panel in previous years (ICT apprenticeship). But honestly, there may not even be two separate intakes. It’s just as likely to be accidentally copied and pasted from a different panel’s information booklet as it is to be accurate and true!

The civil service campaigns are always confusing and it’s impossible to get straight answers from PAS or DSP, so I think all we can do at all is sit back and wait (and even put it out of our minds completely if possible). I know someone who’d applied for a one-year panel, forgotten about it, then got called in for it two years later.

    Hi folks,

I messaged the AO inbox for clarity on where they are on the OOM. They're up to 124 still, but those up to 205 were called forward for EOI for revenue. Hopefully, there's more movement coming soon.

    Hi,

I know this is thread is for AO, graduate opportunities 2024, I had done online assessment for AO competition 2025, last month and got results today. As this is the first time in my life, I have no clue what will happen next. My OOM is mid 100s and wondering if they ever call me for interview (or for presentation). If anyone can help me, I will be great.

    Thanks

You'll get invited to present/interview at some stage. At the moment they're only calling the first 16 for interview but if they can get through that many interviews in a week then you could be interviewed in two months potentially.

I know there's threads for the specialised comps in previous years. Your best bet is probably to look to them for an idea as to your chances of being called.

Hi all, did anyone get results from the other competition? I thought I did great with a score of 90 but they are only calling about 17 or 18 for interviews! Well look, keep trying I suppose : )

Is it about the online assessment that was done on April 16 under graduate opportunities 2025?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 41 batkitten

Yes under the four specific areas, finance, health and two others....might as well have got a score of a 900 if only that few are called : )

I was told by someone here that they are calling 16 in first batch. Not just 16 in total. My OOM is around mid 100s and wondering if I will ever get called as well.

Oh Good to know, that's positive. I'll keep my fingers crossed so!

Just wondering if anyone on here knows the work from home average number of days (after in office training) for AO in Revenue Legislative Service? :)

Hi all, I took the online assessment for the four specialist Administrative Officer 2025 competition and placed mid 100s. My specific stream is the Environment dept as I have a long term interest in that area with experience in the energy sector. I have a degree and a masters in Law and it’s not specifically stated that a Law degree is required. Does this mean I may not be considered if I decide to pursue this any further.

Also, I took two energy and gas modules in my undergraduate degree and just don’t want to waste my efforts further if I won’t be considered.
Having this process experience could also help doing better in future competitions but is it worth going ahead with.

My answer is I'm not sure, the one good thing about the open competitions is you can always move around, ask for mobility once your permanent and pass probation or contact that unit and see about moving there in time.

Sometimes we just have to wait it out really and see what comes up.

Does anyone know how it works with the points scale if you’re currently on a salary above point 1 but below point 2? Currently on the EO scale in a public service role.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25 DaireT98

You'll move up to a point on the scale that is not lower than your current salary.

Would anyone have any news on specialist streams timelines, specifically health policy?

Are you in the first 20 that were called for interview?

Got into the first batch for the AO finance policy stream and just did my interview!

Hoping for the best, but it was my first time doing one of these interviews and I'm very nervous about the results. I don't think I failed, but honestly am not sure how I scored overall and am super on edge from it - what does it take to fail one of these interviews?
