Define not "could not be worse than Biden" in both Ukraine and Gaza situations, with particular focus on the inhabitants of both regions

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,035 ✭✭✭✭Tell me how

Forget about Ukraine and Gaza. They're way down the list of priorities for most Americans.

Millions were duped thinking he'd reduce the price of Groceries immediately, he wouldn't target people from their communities, he would not tax overtime or tips, they wouldn't be immediately out of a job where there was still a need for them to do that job. All of these people were wrong.

He is massively favouring the oppressor in both Gaza and Ukraine. That's what bullies do. He also failed on most of his campaign promises. That's what con-artists do.

Millions of people from all over the world eg Ukraine, Israel, Gaza, Russia, even individuals from N. Korea, have suffered as a result of Russia's invasion of Ukraine and the Hamas invasion of Israel, murdering and kidnapping back to Gaza etc. It all occurred on Biden's watch.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,010 ✭✭✭roosterman71

And all that is stopped now is it? Or is Mr. President planning to remove people from Gaza to build resorts and not let them return, and take natural resources out of Ukraine in exchange for helping Ukraine keep Russia in only 20% of their country?

Whose fault is the suffering? You can blame Biden for not doing more if you wish, but who is ultimately to blame in your view?

You're like a broken record on this. You keep moving the goal posts cause you can't actually argue your points. Trump is the one currently attempting to extort a nation that was invaded. Meanwhile he's making no demands of the invader. On top of that, Trump is the one who is calling for the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians. So "but Biden" is pretty irrelevant..

3 weeks in office and he has ended the two wars which have horrified us in Europe for the past couple of years.

This Republican woman was interviewed on BBC Newsnight - Carla Sands

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carla_Sands

She was on about what a great job Trump was going to do with Ukraine etc etc.

The BBC female journalist asked an excellent question.

“Why doesn’t Trump just ask Putin to withdraw his Troops and the war would simply end?” (She Asked Twice)

Sands (clearly very rattled) response was “Why don’t you ask him, he will hear it here on the BBC” (big fake smile - really white teeth)

The journalist pushed Sands for an answer and Sands just waffled.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

You or I do not know the details of any deal that may emerge from Ukraine. However a few things are known: Ukraine is slowly losing the war, America does not want to put more tens of billions in to defending Ukraine, and Ukraine will not be able to recapture the land lost to the Russians without lots of western boots on the ground, which western nations do not want. Trump is realistic and wants to end the war.

As regards Gaza, have you a better plan? Hamas had widespread support from the civilian population and for many years before the October invasion fired missiles in to Israel. All ears if you have a better plan for peace in the middle east, given Hamas wants the total destruction of Israel.

If you have proposals for solving the 2 conflicts eg putting Irish boots on the ground to repel the Russians, or sending Ukraine a few billion in military aid, or us taking in hundreds of thousands of Palestinian refugees, do tell us. At least Trump is making an effort, you are not.

I’d disagree Ukraine is slowly losing the war.

It’s the opposite in my opinion.

So you think ethnic cleansing is a good idea? Well I guess this says more about you than anything else. So far, his plans are extortion and war crimes but Biden was worse or something...

Latest executive order states that "only the president or attorney general can determine what the law means." Pretty much in Führerprinzip territory now.

Honestly it's tiring when people keep blaming Biden for things that are purely the fault of despotic aggressor states. Ukraine only still stands because of Bidens actions in aiding them in the last 3 years, probably would've done more had he not lost the house to incompetent Regressive bellends in 2023. Israel? Lets face it besides the fact that that shít has been going on for over 50 years due to the "brits being at it again" and the fact that the US supports them because the Jewish community have support in BOTH parties, that shít likely kicked off because OF Vatnik fúcking Russia, they needed a distraction from Ukraine and they got their friends in Iran to push them to do so though that ended up backfiring when they went full ISIS, got their shít kurbstomped by a royally pissed Israel, got a whole load of innocents palestinians killed because of that crowning moment of idiocy and of course their support from Hezbollah didnt materialise expecially after Operation Grim Beeper and of course the coup de grace, Hezobollah getting Neutered ended up with the Syrian Rebels FINALLY winning the civil war and running Assad out of town after 10 years of fighting. As for North Korea, those Grechin fools are food for the grinder, cheap disposable pawns because Kim and Putin don't value human life and Kim wants something better than 1970's Soviet Tech to shore up his own country. Even then they're so ineffective they got their shít wrecked with losses of over 66% in a few weeks once the DilDrones of Consequences arrived from Ukraine to give them a very bad time.

He also singlehandedly built a wall between Mexico and America, swam up to Greenland and tied a rope around it and towed it down to the Gulf of America-Fcuk-Yeah (he changed the name again). He found a cure for Covid (that's right a cure, not a goddamn vaccine) and I hear next week he's going to reveal a plan on how to pipe liquid hydrogen from the centre of the Sun to modified refinery plants in Galvaston Texas and from there he's going to sell energy to the entire planet. God I love how winnying he is. So much winnying.

Escalating things now, from dismissing claims against his allies, to going after enemies....

    More resignations....

Just your opinion. People from the New York Times to the BBC would disagree with you. Quote"

Russia is still winning. Its much larger population and more effective recruitment have allowed it to replace losses more effectively, and to gradually push forward, said Franz-Stefan Gady, a Vienna-based military analyst.

“The fat man grows thinner. But the thin man dies,” Mr. Gady said."

Ukraine is losing the battle on the ground .

The USA knows what is happening and wants peace.

Sa a clip of him today talking about why the Associated Press is going to be continued to be excluded from the White House Press briefings until they start referring to the Gulf of Mexico as the Gulf of America.

He said that's the law (it isn't) and he is allowed to change it's name (he isn't) and until they change their stance, they're going to be excluded.

It's ironic given how much the right (and Trump) talk about the issues with identity politics and he has created such a bone fide situation about his desire for something to be referred to in a specific way. And is willing to prevent media access in an attempt to enforce his completely personal desires. It's quite stunning.

@MisterAnarchy @Snake Plisken Given how much both of you have railed against identify politics on here over the years, and how you are both such advocates of Trump, are you embarrassed to see him devote so much energy on this and to get so annoyed about it?

and now trump is waving the white flag to Putin. Trump is very weak in his dealings with Putin but that’s what you’d expect from a draft dodger, felon and serial fraudster. Putin is a commie surely he should be arch enemy of American democracy?

Do you consider peace is simply giving in to the aggressors? Under your logic, Putin, Xi or anyone can do whatever they like and once they are bigger then they get to keep it.

Trump has made a political career over borders and yet his solutions both involve countries giving up their borders.

What woyld you say if Trumps next idea is to solve the NI brexit issues by simply Ireland being taken over by the UK?

There is one thing that can be guaranteed from Donald Trump - do not trust anything he says.

    Jan 25th, 2025
"Right now the price is high enough that that war will continue, you gotta bring down the oil price and end the war"
Trump also threatened to impose "high level of taxes, tariffs and sanctions" on Russia if Putin doesn’t make a deal to end the war.

When asked about how Ukrainians might feel about being betrayed omitting them from the sham peace talks in Saudi:

    Feb 18th, 2025
Ukrainians "had a seat for three years - and a long time before that"

Interesting piece on CH4 news earlier where a Swedish representative during his first term recalled that he viewed the EU as a threat to the USA.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,345 ✭✭✭trashcan

People shouldn’t resign. They should make him (or Musk) fire them and then sue for unfair dismissal.

Is that true about the Executive Order saying that only he and the Attorney General can determine what the law is ? Wow. Logical next step is to ignore any court rulings he doesn’t like. Then we really are into unchartered territory. Is anyone going to stop him ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,353 ✭✭✭joseywhales

Ok let's go with this false reality. The sitting us president is responsible for all global affairs during their term. So what about COVID then? That's over 7 million deaths, is Trump responsible?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,651 ✭✭✭Infini

Of course he's gonna view the EU as a threat, they're the one pan-national entity that could fúck with him if provoked and make him have a REALLY bad time. Worse he's probably upsetting people in the US defence industry itself because if Europe rearms and ramps up their defence industry enough they'll become competitive and draw investment away from US companies expecially with Agent Orange's Trump Taxes on everything imported.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 325 ✭✭Iecrawfc

It looks like thats what 50% of the American public want while the other 50% are too apathetic or cowed enough to stop him, All of Europe now needs to unite the remaining western allies, Europe + Canada + ausnz +Japan/Korea against the US/Russian/Israeli aggression, internally it's up to the Americans themselves but externally he needs to be challenged strongly and western nations turned away from the US towards the rest of the world.

I agree with you he should not have renamed the Gulf of Mexico to Gulf of America. However a very successful businessman explained it to me. He said Trump has always understood the power of branding. After all, as a celebrity businessman, he successfully put his name to various skyscrapers and he licensed his name to a selection of products, from hotels to wines. Now, he is boldly re-branding parts of America itself.

Other US presidents have renamed things eg Barack Obama renamed Mount McKinley to its Native American name, Denali. Trump is p*****d off with Mexico for several reasons. Still I was surprised Trump actually renamed the Gulf of Mexico. Trump has a new vision and energy since getting shot at, if you ask me.

Wait until he gets us in his cross hairs. From what I hear, they are mighty p****d off at us being being a freeloading, pro-Palestine anti-Israel (as they see it) tax haven for US companies. To add insult to injury for them, they heard and will not forget many politicians here making very deep insults against Trump before he was re-elected. We bet on the wrong horse lads when it came to the US election.

Without American support Ukraine would likely still have European support etc

Is that enough to beat Russia back over the border? I'm not sure

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,422 ✭✭✭✭astrofool

His vice president called trump hitler.

trump's go to move is name calling.

I don't think calling him names makes any difference as long as you can trick him into thinking he wins at a deal. One of trump's most distinguishing features is his stupidity, only bettered by the stupidity of his supporters for believing anything he says. His track record in life has been causing failure to all those around him while squandering his daddy's money.

Ireland, as part of the EU gets treated the same as any other EU country.

Wishful thinking, but the links in post no. 10792 show that Ukraine is slowly losing, even with the many tens of billions of support it has got from the USA , UK and Europe.

The US knows that and wants to stop the war. It has been involved in enough of them, and has all the hi-tech gadgetry, to know what is happening. Trump the businessman does not want to waste another 70 billion either on a country much closer to us than them, while we and others remain neutral.
