That's a much nicer interior than the light colours

Getting more interested in this as a second local runabout moving from a one car situation. Great to see an orange version in the country as that's the main choice at the moment. khaki green is next so hoping can see both in the flesh. Any idea will it be staying around Dublin? Presume you're in Castleknock from those pics!

Those cupholders are really terribly placed.

Those are impressive numbers. Could see it top the EV sales charts this year.

Spoke to my dealer there on my Signature model that he received last week, to arrange collection in the next few days. He'd previously informed me the external V2L was available and had even priced up the Hyundai adaptor for me. I asked him to re-confirm the external V2L functionality as it was a deal breaker for me. He said he'd contact Hyundai Ireland and be in touch. The Hyundai Ireland website still references the V2L technology so i'll be very frustrated if this isn't the case.

I feel the same about the V2L it was one of the items I was looking for when I ordered and its been very difficult to confirm weather it is or isn't supported. If the dealer could just check the adapter in the car it would be handy also as per the post above there should be an option in the setting menu for V2L, that would suggest weather the car has it or not.

They really should be clear about feature before they put them up on the website its very frustrating being told these features are not available after waiting for months for the car.

    400 sold already is impressive.

I can see this becoming extremely popular. A lot of people whose driving is 95% local traffic will realise they don't need an SUV.

I beg to differ - dark interior looks just like every other small car.

It's roughly a quarter of last year's top seller.

Hopefully will answer some motorway queries some of you had, brighter interior than the other video I made too.

The car barely made an impact in Jan as there’s almost 200 being registered this week so it sort of missed the typical Jan window. Hyundai Ireland also suggesting the car price will increase after July but anyone who orders now will get the car at the current price. Another batch due in April with more cars becoming available quicker after that.

I asked about a third trim option and for now, having just the two meant they could get more cars quicker with a simpler trim allocation but it wasn’t a hard no.

A commercial version has also been confirmed for Ireland today built at the factory, not a local conversion.

To 'Digitaldr' You say 'It comes with a regular and a granny charging cable, two towing eyes and a puncture repair kit.'

When I went to a dealer I was told it only comes with AC cable - you can buy a granny charge cable for an extra 1100 euro

I was also told it has V2L via an adapter into charge port.

Can others who already collected their cars confirm if the Inster comes with the granny cable as standard

    Thanks

I disagree. It's just dull black. The beige interior is much nicer and classier.

Oh a Commercial version should be interesting. Might make a handy small little van.

Fantastic. Tesla made EVs interesting after the Leaf and Bolt made them look dull. the Inster will do the same for small EVs.

Anyone can tell trying to park in Irish car parks is getting harder and harder.

The Mark 1 Golf was 3.7m long, the latest Golf is 4.3m!

At 3.8m the inster is like a reset.

Tesla made EVs interesting lol no they did not. They might have got people to notice but interesting no. They are about as interesting as a tub of butter.

In fairness though although the Leaf has a good following the Tesla design wasn't boring. I remember first seeing one thinking why has it taken so bloody long to make decent looking EV. Now there's increasing choices and Tesla's looks bland, especially the interiors.

Can't be. Most expensive I've seen is about €350

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 291 ✭✭derekreilly

They are looking to get 1,100 in for sale this year

Might have been a mistake on the part of the dealership - the manager in particular was clueless and really not that nice. Salesman was very helpful though. Main charging cable comes with a nifity case too.

Really enjoyed the video. These are going to fly out of the forecourts once word spreads beyond the EV community. 400 will turn into 4,000 in a couple of years.

A really nice car, Hyundai have nailed it.

Will be a really nice option on the second hand market in 3 years.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,516 ✭✭✭Buddy Bubs

Who is the target market for these? It's not me so genuinely asking ......great reviews I've no doubt it's a great car. Some people here very sure it will be a massive hit. I just don't personally know too many people that would be into it.

Young people with no kids, I dont think it's stylish enough....won't tempt out of Fiat 500s or minis

    People with kids, no way

People that have always wanted to go ev and finally have one at low price point to go for?

Ev owners looking for 2nd Ev ?

Buyers of the likes of a yaris normally?

Has anyone had any experience using a granny charger? I’ll be collecting my Inster later this week and am waiting to get a home charger installed. I’m thinking it might be safer to just use a fast public charger instead while I wait for my home one?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 133 ✭✭whizkid9

Would it be possible to add a centre armrest on the 42kw model?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 650 ✭✭✭glen123

I charged my Leaf for 2 years using granny charger and the outside socket. Charging output will be 2.3kw an hour minus losses (around 10%??). 9 hours on night rate will give it 120-130km worth of charge?

In fact, once I collect Inster, Leaf or Inster will be charged using granny charger while the other one will be charged by Zappi. It will depend on the planned usage for each car the next morning.
