Citroen EC4 231, electric traction error

    Hi folks,

    Asking for a family member. Their 231 Citroen ec4 recently completely shut down whilst driving with an ‘electric traction error’ on the dash. They couldn’t turn the car on/off and had to get towed. Just wondering if anyone has had this error message, what was the cause and fix.

    If its under warranty you shouldn’t even be thinking about that

    Yes there is a warranty and the car is back with the dealership. I’m trying to figure out if this is going to be a persistent issue going forward and what the error means. I believe the dealership are being vague on the issue and cause hence trying to get as much info as possible.

    There are a few different instances of this on the SpeakEV forum. One of them suggested disconnecting and reconnecting the 12v battery. Also maybe worth checking the 12v battery for charge level. Often causes a lot of problems on EVs.
