Well a suicide bomber who tries to take out a street full of civilians would obviously be a terrorist, no? What an odd question.

The whole world knows there are terrorists operating in Palestine (as there are in Ireland) - I'd question your motivation for bringing up a female suicide bomber who was killed 23 years ago in relation to a conversation about the 20k women killed by Israel in the current conflict though.

If some aggressive state carpet bombed a whole city in Ireland and 40% of the victims were women, would be appropriate for someone to bring up Delours Price. It would be like they were justifying it no?

But youre just doing it for context eh?

I'll say it again. All I posted was, Hamás does have a history of using women as combatants.

And for that I have to face this kind of pathetic attempts to paint me as someone who's supporting killing women and kids.

Excuse me, but that's some kind of twisted pattern this thread thrives on. Obviously my brain capacity is way too low to understand it..

Yes, given what the conversation you replied to was about - which I'm sure you read given that you replied to it of your own free will -you got questioned on it. The least you could do was own it and explain what reason you had for saying it, but no, nonsensical smoke and mirrors.

I am glad you doubled down. Thank you. Time will tell.

    Just in…

Smotrich reveals months-long efforts to move Palestinians out of Gaza  – Middle East Monitor

Israel’s far-right Finance Minister, Bezalel Smotrich, has revealed that there have been months of secret discussions about a plan to relocate Palestinians out of Gaza. He mentioned that the previous US administration prevented it from being made public.

Speaking to Ynet’s Hebrew-language political podcast ‘120 and One’, Smotrich said: “We’ve been working on this for several months, but it wasn’t possible to present it during the Biden administration due to concerns about an international decision that could block it.”

He added: “With the support of the current US president, we can help two million Palestinians leave Gaza and start new lives in other places. This is the only solution to bring peace and security to Israel and improve the lives of these people.”

What are they doing in the Hyacinth House?

No idea. I'd imagine it's a small minority. Same with the men.

I wasn't dehumanizing anyone or validating anything. The fact you took that from my comment, says a lot about you.

2 million Israelis live in poverty - 1 in 4 Israeli children are poor?

An interesting post, but I think you might be missing the point. There are two million Arab Israelis, and the intention is to keep them poor so that they will gather up and get out.

I read something recently by an American jew who visited Israel, and provided a fairly graphic sketch of Israel in sociological terms. He commented that in the airport, the guy who stamped his passport was an Ashkenazi jew, the guy sweeping the floor was a Mashreqi jew, while the toilet cleaner was Palestinian.

Would you care to compare the numbers of Palestinians murdered by Zionism, and the number of Israelis killed by Palestinians in resisting the occupation of their land? Just between 1947 and October 7th 2023, no need to go back any further. Have a look at this graphic for some context:

    Untitled Image

BTW, please don't count all casualties on October 7th as being killed by "Hamas". It is well-known that many were killed by Israel, including the occupants of 70 cars blown up by Israel itself under its Hannibal directive. At 2 per car, that's 140 killed by israel, at 4 it would be 280. Add in other israeli deaths - houses blown up by israel etc. The truth probably lies between those two figures. Almost certainly 200 Hannibal israeli deaths, likely 250 and possibly even more.

A question - why are you hung up on Hamas - isn't zionism the real problem here?

Smokescreen and more of it every time I react to your posts. You can scroll back to post I originally replied to. Again I said that Hamás has history of using women as combatants, that's it. Not so sure what's questionable there, and I certainly own what I've said. Can we just quit this fooked up búllshit? Unless you are so determined to paint me as a women/kids killer supporter...

Get used to it. It's normal here. Don't understand why, but it is what it is.

Do you think it might be because Israel holds many more hostages than Hamas does? Like thousands upon thousands, interned without trial, or at best with a summary hearing in front of a military "court" that rubberstamps the internment to give a patina of legality to it?

Israel loves imprisoning Palestinians, beginning when they are young:

Al Jazeera reported that between 2000-2023, 12,000 children have been detained by Israeli forces

On 2 May 2023, Khader Adnan passed away following an 87-day hunger strike while in administrative detention for the 12th time.

In August 2023, 1,264 Palestinians were held in administrative detention in Israel, without charge or trial

I wonder where these people are now? Do you consider this treatment to be humane? In line with international law? I wonder if they are even alive any more.

I'm not sure the Hamas propaganda images and the parading is working like they intended. This only loses support for Palestinians.

I'm not painting you as anything, I asked you a question to a post I found horrible, as is my right.

But forgive me, I see what it is now. What you said was just a random comment, said in a vacuum that had nothing to do with the conversation you replied to.

You see I thought you were backing up your other buddy's post where he/she told us how chauvinistic it is to proclaim tens of thousands of murdered women as innocent, when there is a possibility they were terrorists -without a single shred of proof -because sometimes Hamas arm women. And another guy proved this, by showing us a Wikipedia page of a woman who blew herself and civilians up 23 years ago (who wasn't actually in Hamas).

    My mistake.

so why drag the terrified hostages in from of cameras with armed terrorists all around

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,911 ✭✭✭xhomelezz

Seriously? That's beyond ridiculous. I'm out. Next step on this tactic and I'll be called genocider, or whatever fancy word popular at the moment.

You think this is Hamas propaganda?

Are you trying to tell me that the Israeli terrorists (the guys standing, wearing Israeli uniforms) set this up as a Hamas propaganda shoot?

I treat the atrocities and war crimes of Israel and Hamas with equal contempt - I supported Israel’s right to retaliate Hama’s atrocity of October but withdrew it within weeks after it was clear they were simply out to destroy Gaza and its people - but Hamas are not beyond sacrificing their own people for their “cause”- they have miscalculated massively and most certainly have a share in the final death toll of the Palestinian people in Gaza. While history will not be kind to Israel, it won’t be kind to Hamas either.

Does that justify genocide? Absolutely not. Just it justify the removal of the Palestinian people from their land? Again no.

But if there is any movement towards peace, we have to recognise that both Hamas and Israel need to U turn here- there are many innocent lives caught in the crossfire between Iran backed Hamas and Israel - they’re simply used as pawns by both sides.

Israel and America are behaving appallingly - but the Palestinians need to find a strong but peaceful representation- Hamas are clearly not going to be good for the future of the Palestinian people.

Your post demonstrates your support for israel, although couched in "both sides"ism.

Palestinian leaders of many sorts and at many times have made peaceful attempts to find a resolution to their problems, and israel over and over again has led them on, reached agreement and then insisted on more, in order to ensure that a resolution was not achieved. This is a modus operandi that they keep using, and most recently they used it to continue their onslaught in Gaza.

    Hamas is not the problem
    Arafat was not the problem
the PLO was not the problem
the PFLP was not the problem

The problem is Zionism, and the backing it receives from the US. Germany, France, the UK.

There is no "both sides" here, and by pretending there is, you are supporting the zionist settler colony.

The other day, I watched a Palestinian ambassador - Hussein Zomlot - speaking on one of the British channels. He mentioned that 800,000 Palestinian men have been imprisoned by Israel at one time or another - approximately half the male Palestinian adults. This is similar to how Black men are treated in the USA. I wonder if Trump and the Yahoo joke about this to each other …

“Your post demonstrates your support for israel, although couched in "both sides"ism.”

No it doesn’t - I haven’t read the rest of your post nor will I when you throw out accusations like that - it doesn’t deserve to be read.

Although you are correct in saying many Arabs live in poverty, it is far more nuanced.

Arabs make up approx 20% of Israel, and approx 36% of those in poverty are Arab, so their representation in poverty statistics is almost two fold. However, orthodox Jews are almost equally represented in poverty statistics as a proportion to their numbers as Arabs (in terms of how many families of Arab or orthodox extraction live in poverty vs. do not),.overall it makes up around 13%.

My point is, if they were all powerful it's amazing we got companies here in the first place when they were also needed clearly in Israel.

Given that Israel weren't allowing food or medical supplies into Gaza, are you surprised?

What are they doing in the Hyacinth House?

Well there's a good few sumo fighters pictured there, so yeah I'm surprised.

Ah cool israel propoganda images are now funny to some, while hamas ones are terrible. Not at all hypocritical. I guess lucky there were no kids or women in that photo to be made fun of. The dehumanising language of pro israeli posters continues.

Med is quite shallow in places, is it feasible to make a man made island as big as Gaza or bigger, and allow it to be the state of Palestine .

Why not have it where it is? I’m sure if Israel wanted a man made island retreat like “the world” in UAE, I’ve no doubt they could make it so - Palestinians could come to some agreement - and a good use of all that concrete debris too.

    Good points well made.

Hamas were known worldwide as a terrorist organisation since they won the Gazan elections.

Whilst Israel was perfectly entitled to defend itself after 7th October, the ferocity of its campaign has absolutely backfired. It is the Israeli people that will pay the price for that.

Many have already left and others are leaving Israel for good. The economy is tanking and will not recover for years. Israel and two senior govt ministers are before the international courts for Genocide and War Crimes. The far right Ministers are eying The West Bank and East Jerusalem for the settlers. Israel has control over other Lebanon and Golan. Israel is a pariah in the eyes of the world. Israeli is seen as no better than Hamas - they are now viewed as a terrorist State themselves.

However, Israelis have the opportunity to consign warmongering and Genocide supporting ministers to the dustbin at the next elections. Hamas need to be gone from Gaza too.

The people of both States need to boot out those who have perpetrated such horrors on all innocent civilians of both sides.
