You get what you voted for. The American voters decided a convicted criminal who had already the worst Presidential rein in history was a better option than a highly qualified if slightly mundane candidate.

The Democrats can't do sh*t to stop whats happening now or in the next 4 years (and anyone who thinks Trump is leaving after 4 years is deluded).

It's like giving the keys of your house to the robbers and complaining your neighbours didn't do anything to help.

America did this to themselves and the whole world will pay the price.

"It's why we have all the death and destruction"

Just to be clear, we have all the death and destruction because Israel committed all the death and destruction. You might be happy to give them a free pass, just like your cult leader does, but the rest of us aren't.

It is refreshing, and somehow also depressing, to see at long last, the penny drop for some Trump people here.

It absolutely boggles my mind how it could take some that long, but at least I suppose it is happening.

The warning signs have been there since he first descended the stairs in Trump tower. Since then, it has been one scandal after another, one appalling glimpse into his psyche after another, one utterly contemptuous act after another.

He is, by all accounts, an aggrieved narcissist, with unchecked power. Combine that with a sociopathic personality and it is an awful cocktail.

He will very happily watch the world burn, all to either settle a petty and perceived grievance, or line his own pockets.

We are about 3 weeks into his tenure. Yes, there will be some pushback and some minor, skirmish type victories, but for those realising the emperor has no clothes, overall, the next two odd years (assuming the Dems secure some sort of mid-term victory), it will be truly, truly appalling.

There is no level to which he will not stoop. Mark my words.

For those cheering him on, either for the LOLs, or for amplifying your particular prejudices, I hope it was worth it.

Russia on line 2, offering to takeover Gaza to make it a magnificent riveria

Hate to say I told ya so, but Israel's plan the entire time was ethnic cleansing of all Palestinians. First 2 million Gazans, then 2.5 million from the West Bank, killed or forcibly deported, either is good for Likud.

Trump is the worst combination of a narcissist, a moron and a megalomaniac.

He doesn't think of the consequences of any of his actions because he never faces any consequences personally. He'll make it up as he goes and then react to the shitstorm he causes. And this is extremely dangerous. He doesn't care where the 4.5 million Palestinians go, he doesn't care where the 15 million american deportees go, he wants to just dump them somewhere out of the way and get someone else to pay for it.

Israel think this is the final solution for Palestine? They've just opened up a bigger border to defend and are creating millions of enemies with nothing left to lose.

Trump isn't just weakening the international institutions that have kept America in control of the global political order since WW2, he's ripping them up burning them to the ground and dancing on their ashes. Whatever replaces the UN won't be headquartered in New York by the time this is over.

    The shocked picachu faces

    Priceless

A lot of people in the US already felt this way “If this continues for much longer the US as we know it is just going to be gone.”

Which is why he got voted in.

How and why they believed he was the answer who knows. But the how and why we believe M Martin and Harris are the answer who knows?

We have so many challenges here these two clowns aren’t even engaging with! Quick to embrace deflection at any turn.

Are you not familiar with Don?

But hey he'll do better than Biden right?

Fun fact, it is and always has been largely weapons available legally in the US that have armed the Mexican cartels. Either purchased legally or stolen from people who legally purchased them in the US.

In a thread about Donald Trump you think its apt to compare him to Martin and Harris?

They're not even the same species.

To be perfectly blunt, Trump was pretty much egging Israel on last year. On top of that, his remarks last night were just reiterating remarks he made a week ago. Just his fans have chosen to either ignore it or say he's trolling. This is Trump off any kind of a leash, he's not some master negotiator, he just adores people who views as powerful such as Netanyahu. So now he wants to show his might off too.

    This is Trump the peacemaker...

The press conference last night was astonishing. Trump just casually announcing that the US are helping Israel to genocide Gaza and they'll announce the West Bank relocation operation in 4 weeks.

All of this happening while Musks goons are relocating the US treasury into the back pockets of the selection of American oligarchs

Nope, genocides/ethnic cleansings are responsibility of those who plan and carry them out. To a lesser extent those that rhetorically support them, or excuse and downplay them.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,651 ✭✭✭riddles

no but they are the epitome of spineless journey men politicians that create the leadership vacuum the spawns the like of Trump. We can see the same right round the EU.

Leo,Harris and Martin stood up to the bullies in the UK during brexit. They're standing up to Israel, They stopd up to Putin, They're not exactly bending over backwards to support Trump and I would expect they'll stand up if the AFD somehow came to power in Germany or if Le Pen became the French president.

They're not the monsters you think they are

Tbf I'm sure Trump would love to silence his critics if he could somehow plant loyalists like Giuliani/Kushner/Ivanka/Santos into the oppostion to waste opposition time. But the American system wouldn't be vulnerable to an attempt like what was tried here.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,028 ✭✭✭✭Tell me how

Last nights comments were some of the single most significant to be made by any US president in any of our lifetimes.

In a single sentence, Trump said something that can be used by Russia and China (amongst others) to justify their predatory instincts towards Ukraine and Taiwan.

It was a stunning misstep with respect to US public common policy of the last 20 years and should frighten everyone who pays any attention to current affairs. The military and CIA and Office of National Intelligence would all be panicking this morning if they weren't being led by Trump stooges.

With all that we've seen in the last 2 weeks capped with last night, it is not hyperbole to say that America now has a Dictator as President.

Not prosecuting him or holding him to account for the crimes he committed in a way which would have prevented him running for this term is a shameful act that everyone involved should apologize for for the rest of their lives.

Where do you propose the people of Gaza live when their city is turned into a resort?

Maybe they'll be let back in as second class citizens to staff the hotels and brothels, is that it?

This is what Trump said: President Donald Trump said the U.S. would take over the war-ravaged Gaza Strip and develop it economically after Palestinians are resettled elsewhere…. This time Trump said he would support resettling Palestinians "permanently," going beyond his previous suggestions that Arab leaders had already steadfastly rejected.

Asked who would live there, Trump said it could become a home to "the world's people."

Absolutely desperate attempts going on here to sane wash it as someone helping out the Palestinians, all you have is whataboutery about Biden as you ignore what's happening right in front of you carried out by Trump so you can spread the fake news he's off to a great start.

Gobsmacked, maybe…. One has to wonder what exactly are the deals the US currently has with Saudi Arabia and the two other Arab nations he images should accept all the Palestinians he sees as moving from Gaza, how they will view his strange statement.

"They were telling me that this will be the first resort construction site that uses military air support, isn't that something? Our big beautiful F18s protecting our workers from Michigan, Minnesota, Iowa. Builders, plumbers.. we're going to need them all. I'm good on my word.. I said you know I am going to drive down the price of groceries. Did you know a loaf of bread only costs 8 cents in Gaza? 8 cents. Just imagine."

    😮

So many posters and experts warned that Trump was far more dangerous that he was egging on genocide. He is now doing exactly the kind of things we warned about. So yes, you were absolutely wrong when you pushed nonsense about him being a peacemaker.

The gotcha politics, fun and games while it lasts. The same voter mindset was at play when Brexit was voted in - shove it up the lefties hilarious media-driven nonsense. Funny how Johnson and his side-kick Cummings were very similar, albeit a much more timid version of Trump & Musk.

Where’s all the laughing “gotcha” crowd now. I’m just waiting for.. well, it’s all the democrats fault anyway, they need to fix it.

Call in the parents to sort out the mess.

    Too late for that now.

They shouldn't be. They should though feel ashamed, embarrassed and ultimately they should feel guilty for whatever happens next.

They gleefully supported this. Laughed and took pleasure in his abuse of those he didn't like.

And let's be honest. Trump didn’t just make this up on the spot. This has been the plan all along and why Netanyahu felt so able to ignore the world and ignore Biden. He bet on Trump winning knowing what it would mean.

Unfortunately Biden was too weak to turn years of unequivocal support for Israel back and see what was really happening.

I'm giving Oscar the benefit of the doubt that he genuinely misunderstood Trump's remarks.

Never mind, he's actually justifying it based on the post right after this one..

    #MEGA MAKE EUROPE GREAT AGAIN

You can faux outrage all you wish - the fact is, Gaza is rubble - it will take money to rebuild Gaza- who’s money? And at what price?

You still haven’t answered the question - where do the people go whilst Gaza is being rebuilt? And since when was a hotel worker classed as a second class citizen ?

It was sickening to see him with ICC wanted criminal Netanyahu but Trump is known to say horrible and stupid things but not known for child murder

Biden is complicit in nearly 62,000 certified deaths. Genocide Joe and his team said nice thing but pulverized babies into mush

Let's hope Trump says horrible things but doesn't murder babies.

There were plenty of people before and during the election making Trump out to be some sort of genius peacekeeper when it was clear that his plan was acquiring some prime seaside med property for his crime family, locals be damned

The far left and Muslim/arab Americans either stayed at home and not vote or voted for trump

Those halal chickens are now coming home to roost
